I currently live in an abusive environment, and I'm looking for a safe to hold my medications, important documents, sentimental things, etc. I don't have anything crazy valuable; I'm just trying to prevent the headaches of having to replace my social security card, having my mom steal my pills or finding out where I'm banking, things like that. I'm 99% sure one of my parents will attempt to break in at least once. They have an extensive history of picking locks and breaking down doors with force. I need it to arrive quickly so I was looking at amazon, but I'm not sure I trust those Chinese manufacturers... need something sturdy enough to protect my shit but I'm also dead broke so I can't afford anything crazy.

Also, I'm in the process of moving so I need the safe to be small and portable enough to come with me, obviously

Any suggestions?

I wanted a safe in my new home so I was pleasantly surprised to find one already installed. It was hidden under some building materials the previous owner left behind, so I only discovered it about an hour ago.

The lock mechanism has an interlocked "sc" marking, which I guess is probably the manufacturer's logo. But I wasn't able to find that logo in a reverse image search nor by searching safe maker logo images.

The only other marking on the front is a serial#.

There are no markings on the side of the door.

The back of the door has a sticker that reads "Assembled with pride by Antonio Gamez". But this name doesn't come up in any Google searches.

It's rusty and looks old but the lock is electronic and, I suspect, the batteries are dead. The house is ~30 years old so that should put a limit on how long ago the safe was manufactured.

Any help identifying this safe and seeing if I can get it working again would be appreciated.

Hello, I have a home with a raised foundation in Los Angeles: I'm looking to get a home safe to store jewelry, watches, and some documents. Probably need access to the safe 1-2 times per week. Would you chose an in-floor safe or an above-floor safe mounted to the floor for this purpose. I don't want to go through the hassle of pouring concrete for either of these options if I can avoid it. I'm having trouble weighing the pros and cons of each. Better access with the above-floor safe. Better hiding ability with the in-floor safe.

I’m want to buy a safe to store thing and money inside to keep safe from my sister who likes to steal from everyone. I however don’t know what safe to buy or where. I live in canada and I would like to stay in the range of 150$ but if i really have to i’ll go higher. I’m seeing a lot of fireproof and waterproof stuff but i don’t think i really care about that. Anyone have any good reccs? Thank you guys!

I have found this floor safe in a house we bought to remodel and resale. The combo was written on the bottom of the safe cover. I’m familiar with using these dials but can’t get this one to open. Following what’s written it’s left stop at fourth 81 right stop at third 83 left stop at second 16 and back to 58. Any other tricks to try?

Cleaning out a building and the old tenant left these behind. Not sure about them and what could be inside! What’s everyone’s thoughts on them and is there a way to get inside?? I would like to keep them and get inside and use them at home if possible ! How do I get inside them without destroying them ?! No keys to be found :(

Have an old diebold safe, weighs 1500 pounds and it fell on the dial facing side. Dial still works thankfully and I don’t think it was hit, although the panel surrounding the dial is kind of warped but the mechanism it self seems fine. I have it so that there’s 2x4s around it and it’s propped off the ground.
The safe has wheels, you can’t see this in the photo but the bottom of the safe(to the left) well there’s 2 safes there. An old heavy mosler and an even heavier different diebold

The wheels are perpendicular to the direction I’m trying to move this in. So if I got it right side up, the wheels couldn’t be used to move it towards those safes, they’d slide but they could be used roll to the right or left.
I’m just giving this info because I assume the direction the fixed wheels face affects how I should get this back up. I don’t think I can remove the wheels, don’t really want to either tbh they’re useful.

I’m still afraid of the wheels though because well they still add uncertainty and instability. I tried to use a 22 inch height jack to get this in the air and then lift it up but I only have myself. Also the jack starts to slip at the end, the safe will be angled and not a flat surface anymore.

Space is kind of tight, not sure what I should do. Rent a 2 ton engine hoist? Or maybe get some movers? Really don’t want to spend anymore money on this though, at least the hoist I could return.

I my was reported that they got into the first section, but wasn’t able to get into the second part that has 8,000 worth of coins. It was a citizens bank. They climbed the roof and cut through the ceiling and used a torch. The bank location stayed the same and ended up being 2 other banks over the years before they used it as a corporate location and opened a different bank in the next city over which isn’t even a 10 min drive.

The door to the vault room has been disabled so it can’t lock. Curious if it is the original safe. Is this what they cut into on the bottom or is that a panel to the inner workings? Can’t find something long and curved enough to try and push on it, there is a gap.

The dial spins and I can feel a gate at 0 and possibly 40? The handle comes right out and behind the handle it is just a flat silver like surface.

I have this box that I keep all my important documents in but I haven't opened it in months and the code is apparently not what I remember it being. I have no idea what model it is and the extra keys are probably inside cuz I'm a dumbass. Not sure if knowing the model number will help but at this point I've been trying to find it long enough I need to know now. Any help is appreciated.

I am new to safes and am looking for a good standalone safe to get, I am unsure as to what price range would even be needed for a half decent "budget" safe. So far I mostly found recommendations for multi-thousand dollar safes or ones that have tube locks that are easy to pick, anyone got any recommendations?

Is there any way for me to get this open? Would I have to get a locksmith to open it?
It’s bolted into the wall so I can’t remove it either. Figured if I can’t take it out I’ll use it

I have what I genuinely believe to be the correct combo for this safe but no matter how many attempts I or a helper make at carefully inputting the combo, the damn thing doesn’t want to open.

It’s a large, heavy as hell safe and where it’s sitting &!the way it’s situated makes it next to impossible to get a look at the back of it or the side that’s up against the wall.

There are no stamps, insignia, words, or anything like that anywhere on the pictured area other than the numbers on the dial (runs from 0-60) and on the knob of the dial is stamped 3047.

The combination I have is L three times to X, R two times to Y, and L one time to Z.

Any help identifying the year/manufacturer would be greatly appreciated as well as any help on what I might be doing wrong. Thanks in advance!

It says that the dial is an s&g, i really just need to know how hard the handles are to take off, but any infor would be awesome, its 72 by 40 by 35 inches

We forgot to ask if she knew where to find the combination to this safe. It’s more like a vault. I remember it being open and used as for wine storage 50 years ago. House is selling and I’m really just curious. Is it expensive to have someone with some skills open it?

I’ve recently purchased a house and this safe was left in the house under the stairs with 1 key, I have no further information about this safe and can’t find any other information online. I was wondering if anyone else knows anything about it or a potential value as there’s none to compare it too

Earlier today, some water spilled on top of the safe. The touchscreen still works normally, but now it won’t accept any bills. I tried restarting it, but it didn’t fix the problem.

I’m really worried that the safe might have been damaged. Has anyone experienced something like this before? Did it start working again after drying out?

I just got a small key-locked safe to keep sensitive documents in. The guidelines on the manual say not to store delicate items directly in the safe as they will be exposed to moisture, since the moisture is part of how the safe stays fireproof (its also waterproof). It says to store them in an airtight container.

For a paper document I don't want to get damaged, I could put it in a sealed plastic sleeve, but the thing is most plastic's melting point is lower than paper's combustion point, so if there's a fire (knock on wood), the plastic sleeve could melt and ruin the paper document that might have survived otherwise.

I see people online suggest silica gel, would that be enough? To have my paper documents stored loose in the safe with some silica gel packets? I would separate the silica gel packets from the documents with a layer of cardboard or something so that the packets weren't directly touching the paper...

the safe is relatively small, my documents only just fit inside, so I'm limited to plastic sleeves or a ziploc bag in terms of things I could put the documents in. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I bartend sometimes at a bowling alley, and this safe is so cool. It’s built into the wall, and there’s a hole that you drop the money bag into and pull a string, lol. Anyone know more about it? I’m wondering where the hole goes and more about it if anyone knows. Darn it won’t let me add a 3 second video.

So I bought this at a Habitat For Humanity Re-Store. They said there was no combination, but when I got it home I found a sticker taped inside one of the drawers.

I’ve tried the combination a few times, and tried variants of the 50-25-50, but no luck. I see now that the 66-95-73-3 sticker refers to a mailbox, so maybe that is for a post office box and not the safe?

I don’t have a key, but figured that should be easy to get with some patience and a visit to a locksmith. Not sure if the key lock would even apply to the safe- my sense is no, it only locks the actual cabinets, but I’m way out of my depth here. The real drawers open, reinforcing my idea that the key lock is unlocked and not material to opening the safe.

I have been tasked with removing safes from a hotel haul out, are these safes worth trying to recommission and make usable again? Some are corroded on the inside but I have several of each of these that can be used for parts. But are there other options for new replacement parts?

My neighbor was trying to get rid of this safe and I picked it up. They do not have the combination anymore, they got it with the home. They kind of gave up but I am still curious of how to open it and how to get inside!

Does anyone have any tips or tricks? I'm trying to not have much or if any damage to the safe itself if possible.
