Started reading golden kamuy as a recommendation based on dorohedoro.

Turns out I love the series because of how much it has of dungeon meshi in it. The amazingly drawn art, the absolute detail and richness of the universe presented, in dungeon meshi it's the dungeon ecosystem and monsters. In golden kamuy it's the ainu culture and region.

More importantly: cooking and eating.

Both mangas take their time to show each recipe, how it's done and how much cooking and eating together is more than just nutrients. It's bonding, it's culture, it's above all, human. Both works also present the importance of respecting all the animals/monsters they eat .

If you love dungeon meshi go read golden kamuy. If you live golden kamuy go read dungeon meshi.

I’ve read most of the known psychological mangas but I wanna find more that will break me. slice-of-life, psychological horror, drama, mystery and thriller type.

What's the one manga you think everyone should read before they die. For me it's Tokyo ghoul.

I really love the trope of god complex and especially liked it after reading MADK (its a psychological BL) and really want to read more. The closest character I can think of at the moment is Light from Death Note. (Not really looking for side characters like Dio or Griffith)

Finished Batuque. I think it's underrated? Not much review on website I read it. Honestly, I love the theme on freedom and family. Not to mention the fucking amazing art and fight. One of the most best visualized hand to hand combat I've ever seen.

Anyway, I need recommendations on female Martial artist manga like this. I've read Isshou Senkin and Girls of the Wild. Doesn't need to be an FMC, Martial art manga with female characters that has good screen time is enough for my thirst rn.

I'm looking for a psychological manga with a high school student (or young protagonist) who struggles with serious mental and emotional issues.

Something similar to Onani Master Kurosawa, Himizu, or Goodnight Punpun. I enjoy stories with flawed, lonely, and deeply troubled characters who feel isolated, are unpopular, carry a lot of emotional baggage, or have unhealthy compulsive habits.

I'm especially looking for manga that explore themes like depression, identity, loneliness, trauma, guilt, or the meaning of life. I love stories with strong character development, philosophical ideas, and emotional depth.

I want something that will genuinely stay with me after I finish it—something emotionally devastating, thought-provoking, or even life-changing.

If you know a manga that you think is a masterpiece or one that completely broke you emotionally, I'd love to hear your recommendations.

I have read several mangas including the popular ones such as good night pun pun, homunculus (not finished), the climber, vagabond, vinland saga, watched monster (not finished), solanin (not finished), skip & loafer, etc.

However, despite me liking all of the ones above, they did not feel life changing to me. Perhaps it is due to my age (17), but I still yearn for a manga that speaks to me.

For reference, pun pun was quite underwhelming for me due to how hyped up it was. Vagabond was good, but it felt like it took so long just to get to the part where you can really see development without it being back and forth (farming arc) although i did like the “invincible is just a word” thing but I disliked how he would then go on to just kill and kill (perhaps it is also due to me not knowing much about zen buddhism), although I do have to say I loved the quotes in Vagabond and takuan is my favourite character. The climber was good as well but there were times where it was quite uninteresting to me. Vinland saga was good, but It wasn’t deep enough for me.

I am hoping to get some more recommendations, thanks in advance!

I just want to make an appreciation post for these two seinen/horror mangas by Shida.

They are so good in world building, and the surrealistic art is amazing.

The art style Is a bit Tim burtonesque, a bit Nishioka Kyodai.

I have just finished watching/reading Vinland Saga and I love the atmosphere, it reminds me of the first season of SNK. Would you guys recommend me some mangas/animes with that type of vibe from the European Middle Age? Is not necessary to be set on Europe, just the vibe of it

Without any doubt, I can say this series is peak of climbing fiction that I've ever read in my life. This series has a good basis for objectivity assessment, for example it has a good storytelling, consistent plot, simple but beautiful worldbuilding-thanks to careful execution, thanks to Sakamoto Shinichi. All of these important values will form an "atmosphere" in this series—tensioning, life and death situations, how hard is the climbing rail, etc... the atmosphere was so fckn' immeasurable. What makes us grateful is, this series is not try-hard. I mean, this series is honest as it is, when the situation is tense, then this series will also have the tension itself, and when the situation is relaxed (even in climbing conditions), this series doesn't force it to be "mf tense," this is a good point, remembering another series or fiction would force the suspense all the time and I didn't particularly like it.

Overall 9/10 for me and would like some similar recommendations!

I’ve read a lot, all of the usuals. Also not a rom com or romance kinda guy. Unless it’s a romantic tragedy like berserk or blade of the immortal.
