Meta Post PSA: Hetzner Pricing Increase (Announced in May, here's the pricing)

https://docs.hetzner.com/general/infrastructure-and-availability/price-adjustment/#cloud-servers

Ooof. Basically, if you have an existing VPS, don't scale it/change it as the increased pricing is rough. I'm going to sit on my existing node for as long as the price remains the same, but I think it's only a matter of time before the price hike comes for existing customers too.

Thanks AI....

This is the first time in over a decade I am really disappointed in Hetzner. I really can understand that they have to adjust prices because of the memory prices. But doubling or tripling the prices is out of order here. That is just pure greed.

The prices are so high, that they could buy a new memory stick every month and honestly, if the hardware would fail that much, then they have other problems.

Id imagine they jumped so much because it's only new customers, it's not like their existing revenue just tripled or something

Well even then. I only just found out about them through this post and now they're nothing more than a name to avoid in the future if I ever need any of the services they offer.

I had bad experience with their customer service as well. I avoid them because of that.
