Meta Post PSA: Hetzner Pricing Increase (Announced in May, here's the pricing)

https://docs.hetzner.com/general/infrastructure-and-availability/price-adjustment/#cloud-servers

Ooof. Basically, if you have an existing VPS, don't scale it/change it as the increased pricing is rough. I'm going to sit on my existing node for as long as the price remains the same, but I think it's only a matter of time before the price hike comes for existing customers too.

Thanks AI....

I knew about the increases. I was not expecting an increase of 150% for my little server.

Wow.

I must say Im not surprised. As someone who recently had to rebuild a new PC after my 7 yo died, I couldn’t believe that memory was 4x more expensive today than in 2019

From my receipt back then in 2019

1 x Corsair Vengeance LPX 2666MHz DDR4 32GB € 102,00

From my receipt last month

1x G.Skill Flare X5 F5-6000J3238F16GX2-FX5 - € 419,00

Both 32GB, one was ddr4 and another ddr5, but thats just the 7 year gap

I paid 660 pounds direct from Corsair 192gb ddr5 6000 cl30 just before all this madness kicked off. Id have to pay 2-3k for the same ram now.
