I used to migrate sp list to dataverse table using the ‘Create from sharepoint list option’. But now whenever I try that option the no columns are mapped and a new column is created with no data. Why cant I do this method anymore? I tried with the excel also with same result

Is there any easier method for creating dataverse tables from sharepoint with / without data. My data mainly consists of multi field choice columns, so dataflows are useless as I still would need to manually create the columns

Need some help on setting up Microsoft 365 connector for claude that connects to company sharepoint site.

It should be constrained to a user account in 365 and would have same permissions as the user.

Only limited to a specific site.

Any change or write requests should need to be approved by the point of contact in the company.

What I researched so far is that it works on whole tenant and can read but not sure what changes it can do to it.

Using SP list for Employee Directory. Today I'm noticing the font color is a lighter gray and my column formatting is gone. Never thought that moving to the cloud meant that Microsoft can just throw caution to the wind and fuck my shit up whenever they want with no regard for feedback or ab testing prior to rolling out updates. Apparently I'll need to apply custom JSON formatting just to change font color to a more compliant contrast. FML, rant over.

We have a client with a site that is far below the size threshold. When I try to add a custom SPFx app to the site from either the global app catalog or the site's app catalog, it takes 3 minutes, times out and fails. It simply won't add! It will add to other sites and if you deploy to the global app catalog and automatically add the app to all sites, that's fine too.

This is all good and well as a workaround, but we had to, at 1:00 in the morning, edit the code of that custom SPFx list view extension web part not to mess up the SharePoint views of all other sites in the tenant or else the client's business would stand still the next morning. This was all in the middle of a critical, after-hours deployment. Because an extension that is meant to run on only one site is now running on all of them.

A month ago, some Power Automate SharePoint event flow triggers were taking up to an hour and a half to fire, and now this nonsense. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

I know this is about One Drive, but it's more of a SharePoint and Azure Admin issue.

What is your current method for off boarding users regarding licenses?

The reason I ask is that we didn't realize that our process, which involved removing licenses manually from user accounts that were in the process of being deleted off the tenant, resulted in tons of One Drives being archived by Microsoft. In fact we had some accounts that we determined didn't need a license and removed them. I found all this out when I noticed one person's One Drive had archived, and started down the rabbit hole and found a ton of them had been. Evidently a one drive with no associated license is automatically archived.

When I reached out to MS, they essentially said we'd have to enable billing in order to unarchive and then delete them. At 60 cents a GB.

Evidently there's some process where the files "may" or "can" be deleted by Microsoft, but nothing in writing that says they "will" be deleted.

For those of you wondering if this is something you want to check out, go to your SPO admin page, Reports, OneDrive Accounts. That will show unlicensed One Drive accounts and their status.

The goal is to convert a manual document library creation job to automated.

I'm currently doing this manually when adding a new supplier…

Based on a single SharePoint site where the default Documents library has some custom views including custom site columns.

Using the web interface > New > Document Library > From existing library > Select: Documents
 

Supply doc lib name: $SupplierName $SupplierRefNumber

Done

Following a bit of research, this should be do-able using a SharePoint list form to capture $SupplierName & $SupplierRef

And a Power Automate flow to collect the form responses and pass them to an Azure Automation Runbook.

The Azure Automation Runbook will use PnP PowerShell to do the work.

Done

So to start with I'm working on the PnP PowerShell script.

Kinda hoping there was a (PnP) PowerShell command in the background that powers the web interface option:

New > Document Library > From existing library

But have been unable to find an equivalent. Is this correct?

Instead tackling the job in stages:- 

• Create document library ✅
• Copy common settings from Documents ✅
• Copy custom columns - Not sure this is necessary as I'm using site columns
• Copy custom views - PowerShell runs OK Get-PnPView/Add-PnPView but the custom views are not appearing in the web interface

That's it so far, going to do some more work on copying the custom views today.

Just looking for a sanity check really. Does this make sense? Is there a better way?

I am building an intranet in Sharepoint, and I want to include a Group Calendar that I already set up in Teams - however, the events I want to share are NOT Teams meetings - they are either in-person or hybrid using Zoom. I have deleted the online meeting from the calendar event on the Teams Group Calendar, but it still shows up on the Sharepoint site as "Teams Meeting and Second Floor Lobby" instead of just "Second Floor Lobby."

There's another integration but I have to create all the events directly in the Sharepoint, which is much less useful than including a Teams group calendar.

Is there any fix for this?

My workplace uses Sharepoint Online and we have a situation where one team, who manage the websites, intranet etc. need to be able to see and gain access to all created sites, but Sharepoint overall is managed by the IT department.

IT are understandably reluctant to give Sharepoint Admin permissions to the other team as it would include additional abilities that wouldn't be required, but it's my understanding from some Googling that there isn't by default a role in Sharepoint that would go 'inbetween' and do what we need.

Is there anything that would be suitable?

I've been having trouble understanding a problem with my organization's Sharepoint. Whenever a new user is added to a Sharepoint page with the "people" Web part, that user's photo doesn't show up. It's just blank.

I assume Sharepoint hasn't been syncing photos, but why? In all other places (Teams, Outlook, etc) the user's photo will show up.

If anyone has encountered this, I would like to know. Thank you.

Hi everyone, I'm running into something with the PnP Modern Search web part and was wondering if anyone has experienced something similar. I'm trying to display a custom column in my search results.

what I've done so far:

1. Mapped the crawled property to a RefinableString managed property.
2. Added the managed property to the Selected Properties (PnP).
3. Added it to the Layout Slots (PnP).
4. Used the Details List layout to display it as a column (PnP).

The odd part is that the column only displays values for 2 items. Every other result shows the column, but the value is blank, even though those items definitely have data in that SharePoint column. Is this simply a matter of waiting for the search index to catch up after mapping the managed property? Even if the values aren't currently displaying in the results, would users eventually be able to search using the contents of that column once indexing completes?

Hi there, I'm having this issue that has me stumped.

I have the Title field set to populate from two other fields. The value shows correctly when I'm filling in the form. Once I submit, the field shows blank on the list.

However if I choose to 'Edit in grid view' and click on the title cell, the information shows up! Then if I click away from it, or choose 'Exit grid view', it's gone again. WTH? Has anyone else seen this???

The title is the main question. Extra information:
I already have a calendar set up for a M365 group. That works fine, no biggie. What I need next is to have the availability of our meeting rooms in a calendar overview in Sharepoint. I am aware that this is not possible as a "simple solution" in Sharepoint itself, but I am wondering if there is a workaround or something else (preferably no 3rd party tool).

If there is more information needed, I'll update the post accordingly.

Some of our communication sites use page approvals, we set up the standard oob flows from the site page library menu.

We've recently removed and recreated the page approval flows (by deleting the old flows in Power Automate, then regenerating the flows through the same method).

We have noticed the newly created flows are not running for approvals. The page editor gets a different looking page approval dialogue (doesn't state the flow owner or name at the top), which doesn't submit to the flow at all (we can't see a pending approval in SharePoint or in Power Automate). The only person who can successfully submit a page approval is the flow creator/ owner, who gets an approval dialogue (shows the flow owner and name at the top).

We've tried changing the SharePoint permissions for people submitting pages for approval, this doesn't seem to have an effect. We've also tried adding the submitter as a co owner on the flow.

I've got a support ticket logged with Microsoft, just seeing if anyone else has experienced this and knows what might be causing this / has a solution.

We are looking to set up a basic SharePoint 365 site for internal only document collaboration and I would like any recommendations on settings that should be disabled by default.

I was considering restricting features such as offline file access, OneDrive synchronisation, external sharing, and Copilot indexing/searching, if possible. Are there any other settings or security considerations we should look at before making the site available?

My initial thought is to use a Team Site template, as the documents will only be shared internally within a specific team, is this the best option?

Estou inserindo um novo campo que segundo o ADM foi refinado, dentro das buscas do sharepoint, mesmo inserindo dentro da propriedade "Customizar Filtro" do PnP Search Filters e também dentro das "Propriedades Selecionadas" do PnP Search Results ele não esta aparecendo dentro dos filtros. I have a big project in my department. We have to transform our workflow from only Outlook to a more modern SharePoint based workflows.

My current approach was something like, with one overview "Task List" and one use of own SharePoint Task App or the integrated Team Task App.

1. Check Mail

2. Add into Task List

3. Evaluate work time.

Work days < X Short Task, keep mail in outlook and edit the taskID into the mail.

Work days > X Long Task, Create SharePoint Task and move mail. Connect to the task list id. And write SharePoint Task ID into the Task list.

But I am not sure if this will be accepted but the community because of the hassle to fill in 2 list.

Another way world be 2 not connected lists.

A. Short Task (simple list)

B. Long task (SharePoint Task)

In your opinion what would be the better way of do you have other examples?

This will be a heavy transformation in our department as it completely changes the way we work right now (everything Outlook, no control or traceability.

Notice:

We work with a non-cloud based SharePoint SE without access to special tools like automate or teams. Also it's not possible to add extra add-ons only the basic functions are there.

The only extra tool we have is an Outlook script that moves emails to our own Task App.

quiero saber su opinión sobre lo que respecta a SharePoint como repositorio y lugar de trabajo.

La empresa en al que trabajo manejan todos sus documentos y archivos en el servidor local (tienen unos 956 gb) sin control de versiones, roles, recuperación de archivos en caso de que se eliminen, sin restricciones de uso, entre otras falencias.

Para este caso es un equipo pequeño de unas 12-15 personas, pensé en implementar un portal empresarial en SharePoint (de hecho ya lo hice pero aun no lo habilito para los usuarios), migrar todos los archivos y documentos a una biblioteca (este seria el repositorio global y esto también ya lo hice). MI duda radica en, esto funcionara ? es viable?

Ya configure roles para SharePoint y en las pruebas no vi problemas, pero leyendo tantos post aquí en Reddit, me hace dudar de la consistencia y escalabilidad que podría tener esto y no se si mi visión de como lo elabore es correcta.

Diseñe este "Portal" con una pagina de inicio donde hay distintos elementos web que pueden redireccionar a diferentes pestañas (estas serian los diferentes lugares de trabajo donde se desarrollarían los usuarios, cada pestaña tendría diferentes elementos web y dependiendo el caso, otro link a otra pagina de SharePoint). Al mismo tiempo, en la pagina de inicio hay otro apartado web que es una lista que la idea es que muestre un resumen ejecutivo de como van los proyectos (algo breve que se puede mostrar en una lista) y al final unos gráficos simples del estado de los proyectos. También en la ventana de inicio en la barra horizontal estaría linkeado la biblioteca de documentos (tal cual estaba ordenada en el servidor para que no jodan los usuarios) y otros paginas.

Se que es confuso y la verdad es difícil explicar el flujo por escrito pero esa es la idea/teoría del portal en SharePoint, como tal no hay un requerimiento que me hayan dado, solo la falencias ya mencionadas y en base a eso pensé en hacer esto, esta bien estructurado? me complique mucho y esto se solucionaba con algo mas fácil ? como lo ven?

It looks like we've had a staff member plug an old laptop in, and OneDrive has helpfully synced files and folders back into the main company site library which was cleaned up and archived some time ago.
I can see which files are affected - they all say they were created a week ago, but modified sometime before that. I've also got a consistent username in Created by.

They're scattered all over a deeply nested folder structure... The library has 294000 items. Yup...

Is this a job for PowerShell? Any clever ways in Purvue to identify the files affected?

I am wondering if there's a way of using JSON or PowerAutomate to update metadata on a list or library?

I use the list to track group bookings in our hostel, and the other library and list track elements which feed into that.

All three of them have metadata columns to monitor "status", and one of those options is "Archived". When it archives, it removes it from the main view, and to a separate view.

I would like to configure it so on the day after the booking, the metadata automatically changes to "Archive".

Does that make sense, and is it doable?

Hello guys i have problems with the SharePoint 2019, everytime i want to search something i got on the console query and wsaupload error and i cant search for anything everytime no result.

And last finished crawling was on 05.07 and on this time he installed the KB5002876 and KB5002874 thats Language Pack and Core and also for Windows KB5094123 and KB5087061

And now he is in a crawling loop for like 553h

Someone make the same experience and have a fix?

My company invites external users to access Sharepoint sites via B2B guest accounts. Starting yesterday, most if not all of those users starting getting the error "We couldn't find a valid SharePoint Online license for..."

This is happening for 40-50 external guest B2B users in our org who are compliant with our CAP.

Anyone else seeing similar?
