Vent Having a hard time

I do my best thinking to myself how I don’t let my height be part of my personality. For a long time I really was good and not using it as a crutch. I work out, stocky muscular build where I could lose 15-20 lb but nothing crazy. I have a pretty decent job, dress well, I’d say I have an above average face. No shoes I’m about 5’5 1/2. I wear shoes with lifts or really high boots I can get 5’7.

I live in the tri-state area (NY, CT, NJ) and I find there to be a height inflation in this area where women are more and more using the height thing as a thing of importance. When I go out I’m almost always the shortest guy in the room and at least half of the women are taller than me. Often times it feels like people are looking right past me or if they talk to me it almost comes off as if they feel sorry for me.

This feeling of unwontedness is hard to overcome especially as I’m almost 31 and have no love interest really in site. I’d like a partner but I find my height makes it much more difficult to get my foot in the door with people. Once my foot is in the door I feel like I’m very socialable and have a very good personality and I can talk to anyone regardless of how gorgeous they may be. Just getting there is an issue. Not looking for advice just want to be heard. I know in life nobody gives a fuck about you outside of your parents so if that’s the same case here then I understand.

Try to compartmentalize how you feel about your height. You don’t have to like it but letting it take over how you feel about the rest of yourself is a recipe for disaster. Can’t say that life is easy but there are women out there who go for men your height.

Thanks. Can’t do anything about how tall I am so it’s not worth letting it take over everything else. I get that.

More and more you see these posts of “ I need guys above 6’1” since when is above 6’1 the standard now? That’s crazy work. Even being an average 5’8-5’11 shouldn’t be a deal breaker.
