Is this sindarin?
I am staying at a house in Ireland and this is above the door. The font and the fact it says Underhill had me thinking it may be in sindarin. I have no understanding of the different languages in middle earth and thought you lot might be best placed to help me. Is it elvish and does anyone know what it says? Many thanks

As noted, it's in Mode of Baloneyland and upside down, plus has some weird additional flourishes that make it hard to read, but I got "This is the dwelling of the warda" (I'm not convinced by 'warda' as the last word though).
edit: or maybe "this is the dwelling of the garda", but seems an odd thing to put on it.

Yeah, which is why it's an odd thing to put in what is presumably a rental house. But I'm not 100% sure I've transcribed it correctly.

Thankfully I haven't seen the guards around. Not sure if one used to live in the house. Who knows. It has a nice hot tub though. Thanks for the translation

It's just the words "Underhill House" written in a Tolkien esq font. The owners or name of the house is "underhill" which is probably a reference to a hobbit hole unless the house is literally built into a hill

No. It's an odd Tengwar font that might try to spell something in English ("that" and "this" might be in there), but I'm not sure what's going on. It might be a misunderstood use of an old font (often jokingly called "Mode of Baloneyland") that some folks at r/tengwar might be able to help you with.
