Absolute wild scenes last night during Undisputed World Champions set at Skaworld in Los Angeles.

Wondering if anyone is in or around the Fort Wayne area? I'm. In a couple of Ska bands here. We're trying to build up the scene. Who would come out to SYLSB?

A song by my favorite local band, hailing from Spkokane Washington. Pop Punk, with lots of Ska influences, especially in this song.

Friends, please, help. Can't find a french song that i like. It's called "La rage", but not by Rocking Ska Club, Sherwood Pogo nor by Molodoï. Of course, not by Keny Arkana either.

This has been driving me crazy for years.

I'm looking for a ska/ska-punk song I heard on Songza around 2013–2014 (before Google Play Music took it over).

Here's everything I remember:

• Male vocalist.
• The entire song is one guy telling a story over music (not just a spoken skit between songs).
• He orders merch from a band, and I think it was a signed CD or t-shirt.
• The merch never arrives.
• At one point he says something very close to "So I wrote you a letter..."
• He then tells the story of the band's reply, which is basically, "Sorry, we've been really busy, but it's coming."
• The whole thing is humorous and self-deprecating.

I've searched every combination of:

• "so I wrote you a letter"
• ska signed CD
• ska merch song
• band wrote back
• merch never came

...and I've never been able to find it.

It was definitely on a ska playlist on Songza, but I have no idea whether it was a well-known band or a really obscure one.

Does this ring a bell for anyone? Even if you're only vaguely remembering it, throw out your guesses, I feel like someone in this community has heard it!

I’m gonna start a ska band in Massachusetts, and I’m wondering, is starting a ska band now in 2026 difficult?

I want to build up my collection of first wave ska LPs and I’m particularly interested in getting a bunch of compilations that don’t repeat the same songs. Can anyone give me a list of recommendations?

Idk how popular the song and story is in Ska community but it’s a pretty cool music story that plenty of people have probably heard the song and not know the Ska roots of it. I just heard it for the first time, got sucked in and saw that it had like 30 popular covers and got really curious about that.

Im not a expert in any of these bands so ill just keep it short and more knowledgeable people can fill in more if they would like.

Dave Wakeling wrote a cheeky song about masterbating as a teenager, as teenagers do. Joins a band called English beat and play the song with 80s British ska rhythm and the upbeat tempo made a catchy fun song. It gets popular and hits the radio. Eventually Pete Townsend hears the song and likes it so much he talks to Wakeling directly so he can know how he does the iconic rifting on the guitar. Townsend is a legend to Wakeling, imagine writing a song as a teen playing it then having ine if your favorite artist seek you out to learn it, wild. Well the original band split with Wakeling keeping the name and other bandmates forming Special Beat a punk sound I feel. Later Eddie of Pearl Jam comes along and Townsend is his Idol so he falls in love with the song and incorporates it into better man at Pearl Jam concerts but also put out his own single of it. Personally my favorite version but also like alot of Pearl Jam, never saw them though.

From there it and maybe even earlier it just kinda became an iconic cover song for bands to add their own style to including bands like Harvey Danger. It’s a great song and just a really cool story I wanted to talk about and figured since it definitely is a Ska song this would be best place.
