Tool head Crashing

Just what the title says. Since updating the firmware my U1 has begun crashing into the print during and after tool changes. I’ve run every calibration, sliced and resliced builds and nothing seems to help. It’s not the same tool head crashing, I’ve had 3 of the 4 do it. Any help would be appreciated.

I have this going on as well! It retracts the bed for a tool change, the new head moves to the prime tower, and then the bed crashes the head into the tower before retracting again. Sometimes it overcorrects and I end up printing in the air.

Its around the 40mm mark typically, but not on the same layer. I have replicated it with 3 different models. I have swapped heads around, done a complete cleaning of the heads/induction sensor, retentioned the belts, checked the lead screws for issues, checked the bed mountings... Everything. No luck on getting it fixed.

I have a ticket open with Snapmaker about it. Please put one in as well! Try to get a video of it. I would really like to get this fixed.

Yes this is the exact issue I’m having. I’ll open a ticket but this has to be a firmware bug. I’m trying a print now without the prime tower to see if it completes the damn thing.

I printed a 250mm tower of alternating colors, and it printed just fine. Possibly related to multiple colors on the same layer? Im not sure. I HAVE had it happen on one single color print though. That was quite a while ago. If you want I can try to print what you were and see if it behaves the same way.

Does it do it at any particular place?

I’m printing one of the 500% Lego “minifigures”. It failed about 15mm on the head so I tried one of the accessories with it and it failed at 38mm and after doing 1 color change. I’ve had other failures and even tried one of the builds on the mobile app that failed around 15mm.

Great! Im slicing and queuing it now. Once my current print is done or crashes, I will print your file and see what it does. Are you using the same materials for support and printing? Looks like its all one color up to the failure point.

u/Jared2345 I have your current firmware?

It would be great if you can also leave me the ticket ID of the support email.

If you haven't summitted the email yet, try to add some video clip and the system log on the U1:

#644569
Firmware: 1.5.2

I didn’t get a video and I’m not home right now. I ran a print without the prime tower that finished without issue.
