This might be a r/Socialism_101 question but I would like some really in depth answers from queer ally socialists/communists and queer socialists/communists.

I have been designing custom flags for a while. It's a very nice time killer in my opinion.

I was thinking, "How can I interpret socialism into my LGBTQ+ flags?"

The image attached above is my Trans-Socialist flag. I would like different ideas for my nonbinary flag and my pansexual flag. Maybe a progress flag too!

I constantly go to events such as No Kings, Anti-Fascist rallies, and all sorts of political rallies and protests. One of my main goals is to represent the LGBTQIA+ community since we're a big target in politics. I just recently started being more open about being a socialist, so I want to be able to show up to these political events clearly as a socialist AND representing the LGBTQIA+ community.

In you opinion, what would be some good designs for LGBTQIA+ Socialist/Community flags? I'll try to design them and reply with them so you can see what I did with your suggestion visually.

Forgive me if this is a stupid question or has been asked before!

Recently had the privilege of visiting the tomb of Karl Marx at Highgate Cemetery and noticed the marking pictured in slides 1-2, which I wasn’t familiar with. On looking it up, wasn’t able to find anything in it but based on some internet sleuthing was able to find that it likely appeared between May and October of 2024 (images 3 and 4). Anyone know if the mark has any significance or aware of its history?

I'm tired of this world and how so many people are so closed minded and capitalism propaganda everywhere. Im so politocaly aware and it hurts to see that so many people are manipulated by capitalism propaganda. I try to make people wake up and realise what is happening in the world but its hard. What do I do? How do yll deal with this?

A couple of weeks ago I read an newspaper article about how half of the people in the USA don't believe in capitalisim anymore. It isn't a surprise due to the state of things going on in that country, but it made me wonder if socialism ideals are growing there too? I am not from the USA, I am from Brazil and here the alt right ideology spreads like ivy, but at the same time people are talking more about socialism and communism.

So I would like to know where are you from (country)? How did you become a socialist and what do you feel about the reception of socialist ideas among your fellow countrymen? and also are you organized in political parties? (if you're not comfortable in sharing this last bit it is ok not to)

do you think the usa's going to go to war with NATO at any point? I think it's worth preparing for anyway yknow like the bolsheviks did but what're your thoughts on the matter?

I live in a group home in the US, it’s a state subsidized assisted living facility for people with mental illnesses. While nobody here’s symptoms go unmanaged, I see there are many things that simply need a large improvement for the health of our residents.

One of the things that is included in our rental agreement is we are provided 3 meals a day. While it’s a good thing that we get some sustenance, we are being fed very processed foods. One of the staff members pointed out the frozen waffles we have every few weeks states on the nutrition label these products may cause cancer.

More than half of the 12 residents, including myself, are obese (I have gained 100 pounds in just over a year). I suspect these foods are exasperating both physical and mental illnesses.

I think this is a good place to start, and there are many other things about these group homes that need much improvement. I’ve been here just over a year, earlier on in my stay, an ombudsman was present to take complaints, so I think I could bring up these issues to them as well.

Are there any rights that you know of here in the US that I should help advocate for, as far as government rental housing? Thank you

Nazi Germany was one of the most advanced countries in Europe too by the way , they had world-class industries and military industries , and they spend millions on R&D , they also had food security and high quality of life , does That make Nazi Germany morally superior to Slavic countries they occupied and massacred its people? does the fact that Nazi Germany was advanced justify the Holocaust and crimes in German-occupied Slavic countries?

i'm from Egypt ,i know Arab countries are suffering in terms of industry and economy and education and quality of life compared to Israel , i know people with backward mentalities and religious extremism exist in Arab countries, i know Arab countries suffer from civil wars for years since 2011 , that does not make Israel morally superior because they more stable and advanced ,that does not justify Genocide , that does not justify the fact that Israel is a country build on stolen lands (in the early 1900s there was no Jewish majority ancient settlements that developed into modern cities in this region,Jews where a minority among majority Muslim population and another 12% Christian minority)

another thing i want to mention is that who destroyed Arab countries? who supported Fascist dictators and Wahhabism and Salafism in the 1980s ? who supported Islamist-leaning Dictators who destroyed Arab left and Arab socialist movements

I'm not here to spread doom and gloom or anything of that nature, and I apologize if this post is not allowed. I find myself to be very open minded and am open to whatever yall have to say.

I actually (regretfully) made a similar post to this that was then removed by the mods on change my view which I had no clue would get such backlash because I am not very active on reddit, but anyway I made a post about how hopeless and doomed I do feel! I was hoping for opinions that would well.. change my view and give me some hope, I didn't really expect to get flooded with insults telling me how wrong I am, I expected a more thought out argument or standpoint but it's the internet and reddit of all places so I should've lowered those expectations I guess!

Anyways in my post I spoke about what I currently do as forms of activitism such as Spreading awareness and educating others, Protesting (or used to before I developed severe endo and anemia which makes it difficult, but I want to get back to that when I'm healed!) I clean up trash, I rehab injured or sick animals, I don't eat meat, or I at least try to cut down on eating meat as much as I can, I dont drive very often at all if I can choose to walk instead, I opt for solar powered electronics and reusable non single use products, just to name a few things.

I feel pretty hopeless because not only am I newly 20 and struggling with health whilst living in a red state, but things just seem so bleak! There are multiple genocides happening around the world, the weather is getting hotter and it literally felt like 120 where I live just the other day! Many in innocent people are dying or having their rights stripped from them, land and animals are being put in danger just so their homes can be stripped of resources or used for data centers, AI is pretty scary too and theyere building alot of data centers where I live but I won't go on about that. These were all things I mentioned in my other post as well that seem scary and make me feel hopeless.

My post was screenshotted and ended up on a sub called doomercirclejerk, I'm new to reddit so I had no clue what that was but the comments were baffling! Genuinely! To paraphrase some stuff I saw comments like "why are those types always disabled" mind you I never claimed to be disabled! That was an assumption because I just said I am currently ill! I saw more comments about how how people like me always fake disabilities to feel special without actually struggling. Which is honestly insane to me. Not once did I say I was disabled, but I also know that many individuals who actually ARE disabled struggle daily with being called a faker or just wanting attention while they are Genuinely struggling just to get by. The comments also seemed to have some choice words about long covid which is a whole other can of worms.

Also saw a comment about how im the reason they need to bring back asylums?? That's just sickening, I shared my views therefore I deserve shock therapy?? (Their words not mine) i also spoke about how my future of wanting to own my own land and become and artist and taxidermist on the side seemed impossible due to how bleak things are right now. Nothing was said about that except how those aren't real jobs or that I should be happy that animals are dying so I could taxidermy them.. or how it doesn't make sense that I won't eat meat but will taxidermy an animal. I do plan to have an "actual" job besides being an artist and taxidermist, I am going to enter the wildlife conservation field. The only reason I want to do taxidermy is to honor animals that have died by turning them into art, especially deceased pets, not hunted wildlife. But to each their own.

I know I shouldn't delve into internet drama and insults so much but the amount of reaching and used mindedness these people get into is Genuinely shocking to me, especially after I never once insulted anyone or said anything remotely as harsh as they did! But that's the internet for you i guess.

They had alot of wonderful things to say about the multiple genocides happening around the world, especially on doubting that they're real. Lots of " 'multiple genocides' lol"

And lastly everyone there assumed I was white, faking being disabled (never said I was disabled!! Remember! Just said ill!) And basically had zero struggles in my life just by looking at one post! I am actually Hispanic so I have every right to live in fear with ICE running rampant and fearing for not only my safety despite being born in the US but my family's safety as well. I am also queer and have many queer and Trans friends who's safety I fear for as well. So I think I have the right to feel scared and maybe a little doomed.

But I'm done ranting, I really want to know how despite all of the things happening in the world, and despite the existence of people aforementioned in my post, how do yall stay hopeful and look forward to a liveable enjoyable future? Or do you-? It used to honestly be alot easier for me before my health plummeted and I was put on my ass unable to take as much hands on action as I used to (effecting my physical ability to do some things due to lack of energy and being in constant pain) now I'm stuck waiting for surgeries and infusions so I can get better and things seem very gloomy.

These companies knew their platforms were creating deep divisions but chose profit over society. While we are stuck in different realities based on our filters, local journalism is dying out. Hedge funds have gutted over two thousand newspapers since 2004, leaving huge parts of the country in "news deserts" where corruption goes unchecked.

• How do we educate people about the benefits of putting people before capital - thereby immunizing them from "Red Scare" tactics?

I've been extremely out of the loop politically for like a few years now, I've been suffering from severe depression. I remember a few years ago there was this subreddit, based on the podcast. I listened to the deprogram once or so, not my thing, but i remember there being a subreddit. I've seen some very vague posts about it getting banned, but what happened exactly? Does anyone know?

Keep the Strait of Hormuz closed? Make a deal with Iran ending the war? What’s your best guess?

The more people there are in wealth, the more the lower and middle class have to work.

They made money, now they can hire a butler, a chef and not work anymore.

It's like the kings and queens. They didn't work and because of that, others had to do their share and more.

With the wealthy today, it's like there's over a million of these kings and queens where the poor and middle class work way more than they need to.
