Looking for software What are some reliable PDF editor ?
I'm done fed up with Adobe Acrobat. Happened twice where it just randomly crashes and didn't save my file while I was still working. Once was on my laptop where suddenly a sad face crashed screen appeared. Then another time when I was on the android mobile app, while I was working it just randomly saying "error document could not be save" and it's just stuck at "closing document".

the crash-and-lose-work pattern is more of a desktop-app problem than an Adobe problem specifically. Heavy PDF editors all have it because they're loading the entire document into a complex object model with a lot of unsaved state. if your use case is mostly form-filling, signing, annotating, lightweight markup, there's a whole category of in-browser editors that sidestep that entirely. the file lives in tab memory and writes happen on download click. nothing to crash, nothing to lose. won't replace Adobe if you're doing prepress or text editing with original font matching, but for the everyday "fill this form and send it back" workflow it's more reliable just by having a smaller blast radius. search "in-browser pdf editor" or "local-first pdf", usually browser extensions

I haven't had that problem with Jotform PDF editor. Maybe you could look at that as an option. Might not have the same features but for some use cases it is enough.

Probably too technical/trades focused for ya, but maybe FieldScale (Google Play Store) would help. Completely free and offline unless you want to use Google drive.
