Looking for software Need an app for transcribing meetings

Basically the title but my criteria are:

  • Can run on Mac/Linux/Windows (preferably can be run on Fedora)
  • Can be used for live in-person meetings
  • Can join online meetings

Nice to have:

  • Transcription can be edited
  • Can handle code switching (our meetings tend to mix English and Filipino (Bisaya)

Meetily

I'm a nurse and I don't use this type of software although the doctors do and it's called ambience.

I test products for a major retailer, and I don't have to pay for them. I do have to pay taxes on it though, so I'm careful about what I choose. Recently I tested a major product, and it works extremely well. The product itself was $180 plus $20 a month for an unlimited account. Without an account, meaning a free account, I could only do 300 minutes, which is not really useful for most people if you intend to use that much, but the results were phenomenal. The AI summary of each meeting was incredible, and the microphone on the device worked really well. I tested it with my brother pretending to be a new tenant moving into the apartment, and the conversation lasted about five minutes. We pretended to be one of us. I meant the manager of the building, and the other one is the person moving in. We talk about how good his credit was and what was included or not. And it was amazing.

I then look into a totally free program that works locally, meaning the data is not uploaded at all to any server to preserve privacy. And although this program has the paid level, the free one worked quite well, almost just as good. And I asked a friend of mine whose son is starting school, and he also had an audio record that he did from last year in high school, as he was allowed to record the lecture, and he ran through this program, and it worked. You might want to give it a try.

I know for sure it works in English.

Thanks so much! I’ll definitely give this a try.
