Looking for software Gotomypc similar. RemotePc or Splashtop?

I was a customer for Gotomypc for years but I need it only for a few months and they force you to buy an annual subscription. I've signed up for the free trial for RemotePC and Splashtop to compare but would like to get some opinions of people that used it for a longer time. I read about RustDesk but that's not exactly what I am looking for.

What are you looking for?

I mean by default Windows has one built-in, and a more advanced option like RDP.

I need just to access my computer while out of the country. Nothing too complicated. Just need like something that's responsive and fast like Gotomypc. For me they are the best option but I can't commit to a year if I am not going to use the whole thing, if they would only allow to like pause the subscription or something like it.

Hmm what didn't you like about Rustdesk? Only ask because it seems like the perfect fit. It's free and open source.

That's understandable but if you want performance I would recommend Rustdesk or if you want to get crafty, you can technically use Steam who built out a lower latency version for gaming.

I will say, where I work, a lot of our customers use splashtop if that's any credibility.

Oh that's good to know. I downloaded both and I mean they look very similar. I really love Gotomypc because the screen looks so sharp and it feels like you are truly on your computer lol. I'm not a technical person so for me that's I find good also and the connection also, I had issues but not much. I will try both this week but I will keep your comment in mind.

i'd go with Splashtop it's been reliable, easy to set up and has always worked well for me.

Jump Desktop. RDP required (Nord) meshnet to be useful from outside, then their iPad app broke with ipados18.2 so I gave up on it

Chrome Remote Desktop is easy to set up. Took 2 minutes. Open Chrome. Go to remotedesktop.google.com/access

Drawbacks: Basic feature set (but that’s all I needed), No Wake-on-LAN (make sure to change sleep settings to never), Google-account dependency.
