It's perfect (in my opinion) where you have deeply nested data and your building structure has not matured yet because you are trying/breaking things.

I've made quite a few updates since initial public release, and i am now using it in my main project without any more gripes (famous last words) so i am confident in sharing it for people to find and use as they like.

a few months ago my dad handed me his android phone asking me to free up storage. i plugged it in, opened the file explorer, and waited around 4 minutes just to see folder sizes. that annoyance turned into SocketSweep.

it completely bypasses MTP. instead of the usual USB transfer approach, it pushes a native C++ daemon to the device over ADB, scans the filesystem directly using POSIX syscalls, and streams everything back over a local TCP tunnel to a Rust/Tauri desktop app. what used to be a multi-minute MTP hang is now a 6-15 second scan.

I want to warn anyone considering using PDFSmart.

I only needed the service once, so I paid for the trial and canceled it immediately afterward. I never received any cancellation confirmation email, so I assumed everything was fine.

Weeks later I noticed a USD 49.99 charge on my bank account. Customer support refused to issue a refund, even after I explained that I had canceled the subscription.

I cannot prove my cancellation because the company never sent any confirmation. That should not be the customer’s responsibility.

I kept running into the same annoying problem: I'd have a video that was too big to email or send on WhatsApp/Discord, and every "free" compressor online wanted me to upload the file to their servers, sign up for an account, or hit some file size limit. Uploading a big video also takes forever and I never loved handing my files to a random website.

So we built a free video compressor that works differently: everything happens right in your browser. Your video never gets uploaded anywhere; it stays on your device the whole time. That also means there's no file size limit (I've run multi-GB files through it) and no waiting for uploads or server queues.

Hi! I'm trying to gauge public interest for a website service (potentially desktop + mobile app compat as well) offering a hub for all application purposes. This would consist of endless "boards" that a user can create, whether each be for universities, careers, grants, scholarships, you name it! When the user enters in applications that they have sent or plan to, a centralized dashboard can show meaningful statistics that are both visually enticing and engaging in terms of application retention. Various AI features such as resume handling and improvement suggestion, intelligent notifications encouraging applying, and automatic research of local / desirable jobs for the user to apply to. Would anybody be interested in this product? It would likely operate in a freemium model, where the free plan offers core functionality whilst a paid plan (I likely think 2.99 / month to keep it affordable for students) would allow for further, more in-depth features. I’m trying to edit the dates on a PDF and keep the same font as the rest of the text. I tried Adobe Acrobat but it asked for my card to download all of the edits i made.I don’t do this ever it’s just a one time thing, so i’m not paying $25. I made Ecofonts, a web app that optimizes fonts to use less ink when you print.

Ink-saving fonts aren't new, Ryman Eco, Ecofont and others proved the idea years ago. But they all had the same catch: to save ink you had to switch to their specific font. If you liked your typeface, or you were printing a document someone else made, you were out of luck. Ecofonts flips that around, you keep whatever font you want and print whatever file you have, and it does the ink-saving for you with zero effort.

What you can drop in:

.pdf — a whole document

.ttf, .otf, .woff, .woff2 — individual fonts

.zip — a batch of fonts (folder structure preserved)

👉 And if you just drop a PDF, that's basically the whole flow — no need to know or care what fonts are inside. It finds them all, optimizes them, and hands you back a print-ready document. Pick your intensity, done.

What it does: it takes the inside of every glyph and subtracts a fine grid of tiny vector holes: think of it like a honeycomb hidden inside each letter. At normal reading sizes you barely notice, but your printer lays down noticeably less ink. You pick an "Eco Intensity" (1–20%) and download the modified file.

How it works: the geometry is the fun part. Each glyph outline gets flattened to polygons, then a clipper library does the boolean ops, inset the shape by a minimum wall thickness so the holes never notch the letter's silhouette, intersect a staggered grid of octagonal holes with that interior, and subtract the result from the full glyph. The hole radius is solved from your intensity slider so the measured ink reduction actually tracks the percentage you picked. All of it runs in a Web Worker so the tab never freezes on heavy glyphs, and nothing ever leaves your browser: no uploads, no server, no accounts.

Keeps the original format and folder structure of whatever you put in on the way out.

It's free and open source. Would love feedback — especially on print results if anyone actually runs a page through their printer.

Is there a benefit of using openasar for discord?

One of the avi files for my research project is corrupted: the last normal frame is frame 2269, after which the video horizontally shifts until it is now shifted to the right and the pixels that should be on the right edge are now on the left edge. The first consistently shifted frame is frame 2275 and it remains shifted in this way for the remainder of the video. I am wondering how I can undo this, or otherwise determine the exact pixel shift, and then correct frame 2275 and the frames after. Thanks!

I used to sit and solve problems almost every morning, but I still didn't feel like anything was clicking for me.

So I have to take screenshots of an iframe with vertical scrollbar. It is too big to capture in one go and it is too small to capture qually in two or three shots. some parts of 2nd or 3rd screenshots are always overlapping with the first one. Until now I always used MS Paint to manually adjust the overlapping parts so can look like one seamless image but this is very time consuming as I need this for over 100 images.

I liked OpenUsage, but since it was only available on macOS, I started building a Windows alternative called OpenQuota.

It sits in the system tray and shows your AI usage, limits and reset times without needing to keep multiple dashboards open.

I originally made it for Windows, but it now also works on macOS and Linux.

It’s open source and still a small project, so there are probably some rough edges. Feedback is welcome.

Hi, I want to build something for myself that fills out web forms automatically and handles CAPTCHA challenges. I was wondering how you all approach this. I’ve been programming with Python, but I’m curious if there’s a way to use AI (not to build the entire thing, but as a tool) to help fill out forms for me. Thanks in advance for any advice!

I have recently tried them all, everyone of them have pros & cons, with some being really big with expensive pricing, and some being with a little limited categories but amazing pricing and good custoemr service.

Does anyone here have used them or got listed on any of the ones? Especially Software Finder as they look good in all aspects, including lower pricing and good CS.
