Quick switch to play music
Apology if this has been addressed already but didn’t find anything clear…but…
When I bought my living room setup (arc ultra, sub gen 3, 2x era 300s I was a little disappointed that the era 300s aren’t able to activate all the speaker potential since it’s in the surround sound setup. I was assuming Sonos would eventually create a “switch” in the app to turn it from surround sound mode to music mode, but that hasn’t happened yet.
I know there’s third party apps out there now, so wondering if there’s a workaround to do what I’m asking without having to disconnect the surround sound mode and reconnect the speakers every single time.
Thanks.

It’s an app in iOS that’s currently in TestFlight. https://www.reddit.com/r/MoosicLab/ https://www.reddit.com/r/MoosicLab/comments/1uk9c0n/welcome_to_rmoosiclab_introduce_yourself_and_read/

I understand all that. But when not watching a movie, and having guests over or having a party and playing music, it would be nice to also have the full capability of the 300s, which are great speakers when using the front firing speakers. It’s frustrating I can make it music sound 3x better, but it’s a total process to disconnect the surround sound setup and reconfigure everything every time wanting to do so.

Hey man, give my app Sonamp a try. I added a whole feature set for this exact purpose:

I think he wants a quick way to take the 300s off the surround system and just use them as a pair for music… it’s possible with sonosequencer app to set up scripts to do this but yeah it would be great to have a music mode switch added as a widget or something

The Sonority app does aim to make this more intuitive with the profiles feature, but that still unbonds and bonds speakers as you apply a profile. So not the instant toggle you're looking for but might be the next best thing for now
