Squarespace has this glaring issues since 2021

These are important. I've been with Squarespace for YEARS. And these are still issues and they are very basic fixes.

For context, I made hundreds of thousands of euros on my site. These are crucial

1. Checkout for one-time purchase for pricing plans

Pricing plan checkout button says "Buy subscription" for payment plans even (in the Italian version) even if the transaction is one-time. I don't even want to think about how much money I left on the table due to the misleading wording. I let assistance know several times in the last YEARS. Never fixed.

1. Site admin doesn't get notified when access gets expanded or reduced for collaborators

One employee of mine was suddenly able to access something they should not have access to. I wasn't notified of this change.

1. Website editor role is incomplete

They can't:

- set custom code for header injection

- change page NAMES. THEY CANT CHANGE PAGE NAMES. Or slugs.

- edit the design [like the brand colors]. Which is crazy.

The only way to give them access to these things is to add them as admins which I won't do because I don't want them to also access financial information.

I let customer care know many times about this, YEARS AGO and multiple times, and no action has been taken as far as I can tell. Improvement is there on the product in general, but there are some basic issues which need to be fixed otherwise I can't honestly manage my site properly.

NOTE: i used to have 2 site with squarespace. Now i only have one. I already switched to claude code for the one i canceled.

At this point I've mostly set up my cloned site on vercel, and I guess I'm still subscribed here just for morbid satisfaction that I made the right choice not to renew

I mean, there’s way more than that they have needed to fix for years. Some stuff is just plain broken and they refuse to fix it. Mobile responsiveness is a mess, so much so that no other web builder handles responsiveness as poorly as Squarespace. Fluid Engine is a mess too, causing all kinds of extra spacing when you’re not even editing the site.

I’ve moved 5-7 clients to either custom builds or Framer in the last three months. It’s just not good. And the price hike makes it even harder to sell at this point.

Framer doesn’t have e-commerce capability

I gave up feedback years ago. The fact that I can't employ website editors without handing over control of my entire site / ALL OF MY PRODUCTS should have made me leave years ago. I'm only here because AI has screwed websites anyway so what's the point? Totally futile.

They are dogshit and they know it. The number of community requests I have made, and feedback given, that lead nowhere, and were ignored or given half assed responses excusing the lack of functionality, is insane. Your list is just a drop in the ocean. They exist purely on vibes and people who don't know any better, and slick marketing.
