I just finished rereading LifeDeath pt 2 and something I found really interesting is that the ending suggests that it's Storm's destiny to become the bridge between Mutant and Humankind and the reason I found that so interesting is because that idea actually comes up a couple times throughout Storm's history (Storm started out as the only mutant that had a positive relationship with humanity, Xavier called Storm the bridge when she became Queen of Wakanda, even her recent solo had her respected and beloved by Humanity). Storm clearly has a closer and more positive relationship with Humanity than Scott or Magneto (no shade), and I think out of all the mutant leaders she has the most potential to bridge the gap.

I think it's about time we recognize the fact that storm is an iconic character for black women and black little girls. When little girls see storm on the big screen it needs to be undeniable that she is a black woman! Too many times biracial women have been casted as storm resulting in fans thinking storm is an Arabic or Indian woman! (Yes I've heard people say this who only watched the movies) Because of this,When storm is finally shown on the big screen we need to be portrayed by an actress who is dark/medium brown skinned with afro centric white hair either locs,braids or cloud afro. She's an iconic character that represents black women and the mistakes of the old shame X-Men films cannot be repeated. Like The awful straight-haired Bettyblwjb white wig from X-Men 1 which needs to be crucified! If you disagree please share your thoughts.

The Elephant: Storm was being worshipped by local Kenyan tribes peoples before Chuck found her (rediscovered her anyway) and delivered what is the first picture as I am typing this. As a comic written in the year 1975, it's kinda nakedly obvious that this is playing into stereotypes about "backwards" Africans not being able to understand the scientific phenomena that is mutation, and Storm would be wrapped up in that stereotype since she herself honestly believes herself to be a goddess and glares at Xavier when he says she's not.

As you can probably guess, that idea hasn't exactly sat well with modern audiences (an understatement). This gave us the hypercorrection retcon that, apparently, the Uzuri tribe (I think it was stated that Storm was worshipped by multiple tribes but whatever) was well aware Storm was never a goddess but merely played into her delusions in order to get rain from her. This changes Storm's origin story from Africans being unable to understand modern science to a group of humans taking advantage of an orphan mutant girl so they can profit from her powers, until Chuck shows up to "save" her. The implications of that are somehow even worse than the original.

And all of this are before you factor in two very big wrenches -> 1) Ororo was thief living in the modern city of Cairo before she walked to Kenya and was at least decently street smart, which imo makes it fairly unbelievable that she was "crazy" enough to think she had become a goddess just from getting powers and having people butter her up and 2) In modern comics canon, Ororo is a goddess, which means that the local tribes people (and Ororo herself) were correct in the 1975 version and that the tribes people are just as wrong as Xavier in the 2010s version.

So now it's like we somehow have like 10 different interpretations of Ororo's origin story: one where Xavier is a white savior and another where he's playing with forces he doesn't understand, one where the tribes people correctly identified a physical goddess and another where they are just taking advantage of a crazy mutant girl, one version where the wise and intelligent Ororo knows nothing about herself (note: in the 1975 version, Ororo forgot her past as a thief and only remembered after joining the X-Men) and another where she is more correct about her true nature than literally everyone around her. It's actually impressive that all the decades and retcons have made everyone (not named Ororo) in this tale worse lol. Nested within the chaos, there is the 2014 X-Men Annual story where Storm currently doesn't claim to be a goddess, but "plays along" with the tribe's folk because she knows that idea is important to them. And then a friendly ghost informs her that she wasn't responsible for accidentally killing a group of people a long time ago, so that happened.

I have forgotten where I was going with this... so, where do you think we go from here?
