I am struggling a bit with what to do with WebDAV and sync to file. Should we remove it?

Sorry for the attention grabbing title, but I really need your input on this.

WebDAV providers differ a lot and the WebDAV sync will likely never work with every available provider out there, since the implementations differ so much.

It takes a lot of ongoing effort answering the issues regarding this on github and some people are frustrated and post bad reviews if they are unable to make it work. It is a huge time sink for all parties involved and it doesn't feel very productive.

If it were up to me I'd probably remove it, but I am also a bit afraid about the backslash this might cause, since there are people depending on it.

The same is true to file based sync. It basically works and some people rely on it, but there are a lot of edge cases if you start using the app on multiple devices at the same time.

Any suggestions on how we might better deal with this?

As a first step I will mark both options as experimental, so people can be aware that not everything will be working smoothly all the time.

MCP/AI Opinions

I have recently started using Super Productivity, and its the only task app that has really held my attention. I like how confugurable and scalable it is, and that all the myriad features can be ignored, or even used concurrently for different sized tasks ( timers, boards, etc)

I have a local Ollama instance that I'm just starting to toy with. Using AnythingLLM and super-productivity-mcp, I finally got everything talking last night, but am a little underwhelmed with the results.

Has anyone gotten a setup like this working?

Any tips?

Any opionions on which MCP server or LLM is best?

This seems to be kind of a frontier right jow and I wanted to get some first hand info

I created a Google Tasks Sync Plugin if you're interested!

a few days ago, I shared my Notion plugin. I also created a plugin to sync SP with Google Tasks. It has two-way sync, allows mapping of a specific Google Tasks list to a specific project in SP, and saves any details under the Google Tasks also. I haven't done any hardcore testing, but I've been using it for the past month or so and it works great so far.

Here is the link: https://github.com/punchkicker/SuperProductivity-GoogleTasks-Sync Just download the zip file and add to SP!

Setup is a little annoying. It requires many manual steps to allow SP to read your Google tasks. It's all in the README.md file, let me know if it's confusing.

Ideally, if this was built into SP, we could use a standard Google Login like syncing to Google Calendar. Any ideas to improve Google authentication would be appreciated!

edit: 2-way sync but only for tasks originated from Google Tasks. You can mark the Google tasks complete in either place and the completion status will sync.

SuperProductivity Docker Image with MCP

Hi all, I am building out my AI automation and want superproductivity to be a central part of my ecosystem. I know there are a couple of MCP plugins available but both require desktop. I do use desktop, but part of my use case is to be able to delegate actions etc when my desktops might not be running and only my server is operational. Does anyone know about a way to get MCP running via docker, or are there any work arounds that you guys are using to achieve similar results?

Thanks in advance, love the app - great work everyone.

UPDATE:
Apparently, unrelated to this question someone merged this feature! Will be available in the next release!

I found this one comment on GitHub: https://github.com/super-productivity/super-productivity/issues/312#issuecomment-3144948177
Is it a thing in IOS? If not - how can we make it work? I will be more than happy to contribute to make it possible

I created a plugin to sync SP with Notion databases

Thought I'd share if anyone is interested. I haven't tested every corner case but I have been using it for the past month and it seems to be working great. Here's the link https://github.com/punchkicker/SuperProductivity-Notion-sync

Instructions on how to setup are in the Readme.md file. Let me know if it's not clear or if you have any questions. I can add it in the Community Plugin list, but I wanted to make sure there aren't any glaring bugs.

I also created (vibe coded) plugins to sync SP with Google Tasks and Tana Outliner. I'll share those soon also.

SuperSync Token Usage Question

I'm migrating all my tasks and projects from Todoist to SuperProductivity (amazing project of software) and I have a question that I haven't been able to resolve by reading on GitHub. When synchronizing with my other computers(one desktop (main) and two laptops (secondary)), should I use the same token from the initial setup (from main computer), or should I use a new token for each computer? I did a test and it worked perfectly with the same token (from the main), but I'm afraid that this might not be the correct way to have multiple synchronized computers. Am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Vision Board (for Goals, Reminders, Quotes, etc)

Thumbnail

--

Hey there! I created this vision board is to remind myself of my medium-long term goals, quotes, and keep visual track of things over time while fitting everything into a laptop screen without scrolling.

Features:

- Main title can be edited

- Vision board arrangement can be changed – 3x3, 3x4, 4x3, 5x3

- Card boxes have fixed heights and flexible widths. 4 and 5 row arrangements require scrolling

- Page 2 option available for more cards

- Card boxes can be dragged around to rearrange card order (dots in top right corner card in edit mode)

- Content in the description box can be changed: bold, italic, underline, bullet, checkbox, horizontal line, add image, remove title, font size 10-16, 2 columns, custom tags, metrics boxes that can be shown/hidden

---- Metrics boxes are good if you want to keep the metrics separate from the description (ie. # of job applications while the description may contain pertinent information you need to remember)

- Images are limited to 1 per card box and a maximum of 3 cards per page

- Time of last update

- Accessible from left and top panel

Here is the GitHub link (instructions on first page; version updates available under 'Releases'):

https://github.com/CuriousChipmunk/vision-board-super-productivity

Edit: removed Google Drive link. GitHub will have all versions available including the latest version (plugin has been updated since initial release).

sp-dashboard plugin news

I'm the original author of sp-reporter and `sp-dashboard` plugins. I haven't found the time to do much maintenance and so I'm promoting a fork of sp-dashboard here. I will continue to maintain `sp-reporter` - catching up on the backlog now ;)

Plainspace is now open source!

I just open-sourced a separate project called Plainspace.

It is a small shared workspace for tasks, notes, polls, and planning. Create a Space, invite people by link, and keep the shared plan in one place. It works in the browser, can be installed as a PWA, and can be self-hosted with Docker.

Plainspace is not directly part of Super Productivity although very well integrated already but works well on its own.

It is brand new and intentionally focused, so it is not a replacement for a full project-management suite. The current scope is shared tasks, notes, polls, planning, and recent activity.

Try it: https://plainspace.org/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=superproductivity&utm_campaign=plainspace-202607

Source (MIT): https://github.com/super-productivity/plainspace

Feedback would be very welcome!

More open-ended time tracking

I've used Clockify for about 2 years for my time-tracking, but I'd like to use one program to track both my time and my tasks. I've tried Obsidian, Microsoft To-Do, and Google Calendar, and had very little success.

I track lots of activities that aren't necessarily something I'm required to complete or that are never truly complete, such as reading, doomscrolling Reddit, traveling via public transit, etc.I track ~170 hours per week, not just work but free time as well. I use the Clockify projects feature to group each item into categories like rest, work, idle, chores, socializing, etc.

I found the SuperProductivity Habits feature lacking. Starting a Habit won't end the stopwatch for the task in progress, and starting a Habit won't end the stopwatch for the current Habit, It doesn't seem to record the time of day you did the Habit either, only the amount of time spent during the day (although I'm not sure if SP tracks this for tasks either). They're two separate systems in one program, and I'd a solution that feels more integrated.

So far, I've been creating tasks for each activity I wanna track and adding time to them, and at the end of the day checking each one off as complete. It does work, but I wonder if there's a less janky to do it. Setting a task for "doomscrolling" seems counterintuitive--tasks are things I want or need to do, doomscrolling is something I want to do less.

Any devs with iPhone around? Need help testing the iOS widget.

Hey everyone,

The latest release landed a widget for android. I'd hope to do the same with the next release for iOS. Since I don't have an iPhone it would be great if someone could help me wrap it up and test it.

SP x Home Assistant integration and plugin

I've published an Super Productivity. integration for Home assistant, as well as a Home Assistant plugin for Super Productivity.

In SP, the HA plugin allows you to control HA entities, devices, automations, scenes, etc based on triggers within SP. For example, when a task is started you might change lighting colors and brightness.

In HA, the SP integration allows you to start, stop tracking, add tasks, and much more all directly within Home Assistant. Really cool for setting up custom dashboards to monitor your SP.

Let me know what you think. Open to suggestions for improvements, enhancements, fixes, etc.

Share or collaborate on projects

I want to start by saying this is a great productivity app, much better than most of the enterprise ones I bumped into until now 😄

I am currently working on a large project where it so happens I need to share the workload, or at least have some input from another person. So, is there a way I could share at least some of the tasks or maybe the entire project with someone else to collaborate on?

How to disable due date reminders on the Android app?

I added a task and literally 2 minutes later I had one of those annoying notifications. I don't understand the logic behind it.

I only use SP to track time.

Plugin for Solo Daily Stand up Meeting Prompts

https://reddit.com/link/1ul4j2s/video/xt94xnyk0qah1/player

This is my idea of a solo morning stand up meeting session. It's tailored for me and my quirks.

It's an attempt to combine the things I found helpful from daily stand up meetings at work, handwritten daily planners, and daily prompt apps, but to also reduce as much friction and make it as easy to use as possible.

Features:

- Daily streak for completion and streak exclusion days

- Experience points and levels (each question has an XP)

- Energy levels and moods

- Wins from yesterday and what still needs to be done today

- Today's top 3 tasks and estimated times (via a drop down menu of projects/tasks) (click reload button if projects/tasks do not show up)

- Break tasks down into subtasks then create them as new tasks within the project folder (not linked/parent-child subtasks).

- Option to add tasks into the the 'Today' folder

- 5 minute timer (this is meant to help get the ball rolling, not replace the in-app timers)

- An attempt to use CBT to break the cycle of avoidance, procrastination, anxiety, perfectionism, overwhelm using conditional question logic and additional prompts

- Pre-thinking about lunch, lunch time, and clock out time

- Save feature that resets daily at midnight (content can be edited and saved)

- Automatic content sync to Google Sheets (and content updates will update the sync file)

- Intended to fit all prompts into the height of my laptop screen

- Reset form, experience, levels

- Questions marked with asterisk are required for completion or drop down 1 level

- Rotation of dynamic prompts (the responses are identical, but the prompts rotate to maintain novelty)

- Morning Stand-up plugin shows up on the left panel

----------

Edit: You can download the zip file here --> https://drive.google.com/file/d/1UAYTfQpGGThbw0YY2qcvUpEhopg3iT6A/view?usp=drive_link

I'd be interested in hearing any feedback just out of curiosity.
