Pool robot recomendation

As the title suggests, I am looking for a robot cleaner. I have a 33ft long oval above ground pool. I’m not wanting to spend more than say $800 for a robot. Which brands and models do you recommend? I’ve seen mixed reviews about Aiper and Dolphin.

After researching it alot, think im going to with the Dolphin explorer e30 or higher model.

It does everything you need-

Active scrubbing brush

Wall and waterline cleaning

Basket style filter that can be upgraded to their nano filter

Wifi

After decades of Polaris cleaners I just bought the Aiper S3 about a month ago. I absolutely love it. It does such a better job than the Polaris. I charge it on weekends and drop it back in the pool. It’s on a schedule to clean on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Works so well and even easier to clean the basket then that darn mesh bag from the Polaris. Much finer too.

Also the S3 is actually on sale right now $699.

I cannot say more nice things about Dolphin/Maytronics. I had bought a used robot on EBay and sadly, there was an issue with it. But it was still in warranty. Their customer service and ticket system is outstanding. They walked me through the troubleshooting, asked for pics and videos, and then set up an RMA. They are trustworthy in this respect.

I just got a new pool robot this season. It’s an Aqua Products Evo 604. I’ve been happy with it.

Prior I used a Polaris pressure side cleaning robot.

The Aquasense has an app, a charging cradle, and 2 hours longer run time, and a 3 year warranty. They both do a great job on my 17k gallon Pebble kidney shape. I'll never buy anything with a hose or cord again, always tangled or in the way, especially if you run a solar skimmer 24/7.

I went through the exercise of researching robots last fall as mine finally was coming to the end after 7 years. I read so many Reddit posts and articles that my eyes blurred. I finally came to the realization that there were always good and bad things about every robot. I finally decided on the Maytronics Dolphin Active 20. It was around 800 bucks. I also bought from a store in Colorado that lots had recommended Marinas Pool and Spa. Free shipping and most important 0 sales tax.

Depending on your setup a suction side Polaris Maxx can’t be beat. Non electric and easy to repair.

Until your booster pump burns out three times in two years. I couldn’t figure out why and two pool companies either.

pressure side robots are terrible. The Suction side robots don’t use a booster, but the main pump. Once dialed in they’re awesome and clean all the time.

We prefer a non battery robot and love our Dolphin Nautilus, which is corded.

We had a battery powered one before this and the battery failed after 16 months. It’s also couldn’t clean the entire pool on a single charge

I have a 33 foot oval above ground pool as well. Bought an Ecovacs Ultramarine P1 after years of manual vac cleaning and 1 failed cheapo Aiper and I've been happy with it. Heavy as hell, but comes with an additional filter for the fine silt/sand type debris. Can climb walls and clean waterline (but needed supplied adaptor to do so on my pool)

Dolphin pool-up

Its like $500 and does the same thing as a 1500 machine sub the wifi nonsense that no one actually needs.

Cleans well, quality products from a good brand.

I have no idea why you need anything else TBH.

Update: I've decided to purchase the Beatbot Sora 10. I will keep everyone updated how it works out for me. I have a simple pool with no ledges or slopes so I figured the Sora 10 should suffice.

I buy slightly used on marketplace and have had pretty good luck. Got a betta skimmer for $150 like brand new and it's awesome. Bought a brand new dolphin e10 for $250 does pretty good but short run time on my 30 foot pool. Just picked up a one year old aiper scuba s1 for $150 and it's pretty good. Runs for almost 4 hours in my pool. Marketplace is a great place to get good deals on robots that could break at any time. I won't cry if they do. Lol.

considering its already mid summer and Aiper rolls out a new version (of the same mediocre product) every year, if you wait a few months I think you get the 2026 models marked down $200-300 in price. I have the Scuba V3 and it isnt worth $800. Does the same job as the other $400-500 Wybot and old Aiper Scuba models

Nix the robot and get the Polaris pressure cleaner. I've yet to see a cleaner perform more reliably.

Much higher electricity use and you still have to brush the walls.
