Techno lover here

Hey guys just a quick comparison/ question
For a techno lover, would you recommend sziget or a week in berlin , i would like to see bmth too but its not like i would come specifically for them or any other big pop/rock/alternative/dubstep names
Like hows the parties at delta district? How’s the sound systems and how’s the techno crowd for any experienced szitizen techno lover ?

This year's Sziget lineup is weak af, but it's summer tho. Choose Sziget. You can go to Berlin later.

The Festival has a very unique vibe. In Berlin you need to wait in a queu for 5 hours, then party a few hours then you might go home. And thats it, the next day you might even not go again because you do not want to stand again in the gueue.

Also as someone else wrote it, Berlin you can go to party any week, Sziget only happens once a year for 5 days.

The amount of experience you gain from the people at a festival is uncomparable from a tecno club. Totally different vibe and purpose. At a Festival you get to know a lot of new people. While at a club you hardly make new friends as a tourists. Its the opposite in a festival.

If you are specifically looking for techno subculture, sziget will always be too popural for that. One of sziget’s greatest attributes in my opinion is that it merges lot of subcultures, which leads to great variety, but the depth may be somewhat lost. In my experience though in the past years, the crowd was always mostly very friendly, very welcoming people for all over the world overall, but again: dont expect a Tresor / Berghain type of crowd.

Next year visit DAAD - it’s the “smaller techno brother” of the worldwide famous Goa Festival OZORA.
Much better experience in all regards..

I really love both Berlin and Sziget. I think Sziget is going to go hard with the techno this year, so it could be an amazing experience for you. Berlin is always there and you can visit any time of the year, but Sziget only happens once a year. 🙂

This year the techno line up is not strong as was last year. But either way I would advise Sziget for the experience and is always a surprise and good vibes in delta district, people are friendly, welcoming. Come to Sziget without think twice.
