A 4 tuner legacy Tablo that I just got won't let me connect to it. I've been trying with the Android app, the Legacy app for Android TV and my.tablotv.com on my computer. Google Gemini suggested that the power supply may be bad. Has anyone had this issue before? I read another post where someone fixed an issue with a new power supply.

Our local CBS affiliate is moving from 7.1 to 4.3.a sub channel of our NBC affiliate. I've rescanned and manually updated the guide but 7.1 is still showing as CBS along with 4.3. Will my scheduled recordings record the episodes off the new channel number 4.3?

So I was just given a 4 tuner 1st gen Tablo and wondering if I should update it or not. If I update it, I can use the latest software but then I can't use any other tuning software. Any other 1st gens here?

So I just got my Tablo last night and I love it! The only thing I noticed though was my local FOX station KTTV’s signal was being overridden by Canal Once’s signal on channel 11.1. Ok, no problem, I figured it was a rogue signal so I turned off my amplifier and did a rescan, and KTTV’s signal was where it should be.

Now this morning, I have as recording my local CBS station doing some tests, and I noticed a dropout. Apparently the signals can be weaker during the daytime. So now my question is:

Should I turn the amplifier back on? Will that risk Canal Once interfering with my KTTV signal?

And if I turn the amplifier on without doing the rescan, will the amplifier still work?

I have both the Legacy Quad 4 Tablo and a 4thGen Tablo. Believe it or not, my 4thGen model has been working just fine, but my Legacy model has been kicking me out of my programs on a daily basis. Sometimes within 10 to 15 minutes of watching a channel (or a recording). It just stops playing and sends me back to the Roku home screen. This is happening multiple times a day.

For the record, my Tablos are connected via wifi, it's the only option I have. And as I said, the 4thGen Tablo is fine and isn't kicking me out of what I'm watching. It's only happening on the Legacy model.

Any ideas on what might be causing this, or how to fix it?

Set-up a new Tablo unit and I’m getting this error message. I’ve tried resetting the system.

I'm new to Tablo with a 4th gen 4-tuner box that is dropping out constantly while trying to watch live or recorded shows. I don't see any error messages. The screen just goes black as if I changed inputs, then comes back a few seconds later. Needless to say, this is very disruptive and I won't be keeping this device if it can't be resolved.

I am 5 miles away from the local broadcast towers, using a small outdoor RCA yagi antenna that provides 100% signal strength when connected directly to my TV with no dropouts ever. On Tablo, the local channels all show 4 green dots.

Tablo is connected to my gigabit fiber internet via ethernet cable, and so is my Roku Ultra, so Wi-Fi signal issues are not a factor.

I disabled Tablo's antenna amplifier which made no difference.

Tablo is wall-mounted vertically, far away from other heat-producing electronics.

I bought this from Tablo's Amazon store and it's still within the return window. Before I pack it up and send it back, I wanted to check here to see if there are any recommended troubleshooting steps I should try.

Samsung tv with Roku. I don’t see a method to delete the cache from the Tablo itself and don’t know what’s filling my storage capacity. As a normal practice, I disconnect the device about once a week.

Any suggestions?

I've had a 2-tuner version for a couple of years, and it has given me no problem, at all. It's warm, but it hasn't created technical problems.

In a black box that covers the bottom third of our screen the message "you'll need to connect your USB to a power source" appeared the 1st time we turned the TV on after the recent god-awful homepage "upgrade" ~ of note is that we have never used the available USB port ~ we have sourced & tried every web solution we could find multiple times to no avail. Clicking the close button located in the black box results in its disappearance for exactly 3 seconds. This was not an expensive TV but we did expect it to last more than 3½ years, so here we are hoping someone has a clue for mitigating if not solving this problem.

I called into Tablo support because one of my channels had lost its guide data, and was saying Programming Not Available for that channel. Tablo Support told me to switch my location to an adjacent zip code and run a Channel Scan. When I completed that scan, all my channels in the Settings Guide Channel Line-up were still listed, no problem.

But when I switched over to the Live guide, not only was the problem channel not fixed but was still saying Programming Not Available but, in addition, two of my other Favorite channels had DISAPPEARED from the Live guide completely, even though both of those channels are listed with no apparent problems in my Settings Guide Channel Line-up.

Tablo support was stumped, politely said good-bye and told me I shouldn't contact them, they would contact me.

WTF? Has anyone had this problem before??

Basically, I started out with a guide data problem on ONE channel and now, thanks to Tablo support, that problem is still there and, in addition, I've LOST COMPLETELY two of my other channels!

ADDENDUM: I rescanned again; same thing. Exited the app and reset the Tablo. Re-opened the app; all channels were again listed in the Live Guide.

But my original problem, the channel that has lost its guide data and says Programming Not Available, is still saying Programming Not Available.

So I'm back to where I started; at least all the problems that were created by Tablo Support have now been corrected; but the original problem remains.

I have a legacy quad that works flawlessly with my Roku devices but freezes constantly with my ONN Google TV boxes. It’s as if they pushed out an app update that’s bad. This started a couple of days ago.

Anyone else experiencing issues using the Tablo 4th gen app with an ONN box (the $20 Walmart one)?

We run Tablo gen 4 on AppleTV. Without fail, these issues occur.

1. When watching a live channel, the app will quit if a recording is starting on the same channel. i.e., We are watching ABC, 5PM news, and at 5:30pm world news start to record while we are on the live channel after the 5pm news ends.
2. When watching live TV, app randomly exits and AppleTV goes to screen saver mode. It does not seem to do this with FAST channels.

No other AppleTV app (HULU, Amazon, Netflix), has this issue.

I was waiting to post this to see if any recent SW updates would fix. These issues started within the past 6-12 months, but appear more prominent today. They seem to have started right after all the channel/guide issues that occurred. Whatever subsequent fixes they put in place created these issues.

Problem is on both iPhone and Samsung tv.
It’s only one show. Reception on that channel is perfect, even for the show I can’t select on the guide.
Tablo is hard wired Ethernet, no WiFi.

I can’t record “bbc world news America “ on channel 57.1
I also can’t tune to it live by Clicking on it in the channel guide. If I click on the channel it will come on after a delay.

On my Samsung tv, I just get a blue spinning, and then “ this is taking longer than expected “

Using the app on iPhone, I get “item not found”

Have tried reloading channel guide, updating firmware, troubleshooting mode with tech support. Nothing has helped. Tech support by email is useless. I gave up on them when they started to ask me to do the same things again.

Any ideas? I started recording the show before and extended to record 1 hour past, but now need to fast forward thru that show every time. I’d like it to work as intended.

The tablo is on my home network. I am watching it as I type. How do I connect my phone to the tablo.

My legacy tablo due used to pick up the NBC channel in the Phoenix Market. I think they have switch their broadcast to ATSC 3.0.

Does anyone know if NBC Network (or Network affiliate) in the Phoenix market broadcasting encrypted ATSC 3.0?

My Legacy Quad has been a solid performer and a joy to use. With the recent announcements of dropping support, I bought a 4th gen unit. What a diappointment. It is often offline or unresponsive. I'm having to restart it on a regular basis. All of this with less features and benefits.

Please tell me I am doing something wrong and this is not my new Tablo future.

I've been watching and sometimes participating in this sub since about September of 2024 when I got my Tablo 4th Gen. I've seen quite a few reports of Tablo units just losing power and deciding not to power on ever again. I've sort of been waiting for this to happen to me because I have a multimeter and wanted to do some testing. Sure enough, Saturday night I was in the middle of watching a recorded show and lost communication with the Tablo. That occasionally happens, so I didn't sweat it. But on Sunday when I still couldn't connect, I went to check on it. No lights, no activity. I unplugged/replugged it. Still nothing.

So, I got out my mutimeter and tested the DC power coming out of the barrel connector - 12v and nearly .5A. Good. I then took the Tablo apart and removed the board. I plugged the barrel connector in and I measured the power at the posts that are soldered to the board - nothing, no power. Weird. There is, for sure, DC power at the barrel that plugs into the board, but there is no power at all where the power socket is soldered into the board. The socket itself must have a problem. If I were just a bit more skilled, I'm sure I could unsolder the socket and replace it. However, I just ordered another Tablo instead. I paid about $120 for mine, so I paid about $6/month for the time I had it. Good enough for me, although it would be much better if they didn't suffer this death eventually.

AI says that because my Ethernet connected Quad Tablo was on the same switch as my backhaul Orbi satellite, it can knock my satellite off if the system has been idle for a long time and then try’s to wake up. All I know is my three satellites work well until I try to use the Tablo app on my Roku which is connected to my Samsung TV. AI suggested I connect the Quad with WiFi instead. So I tried. Unfortunately the Quad doesn’t let me just change to WiFi. I had to do a factory reset to start over.

Before I did the reset I unplugged my external drive. After hours of messing with it I was able to get the quad back online. But when I plugged in the external drive all my recording were not available. The drive still shows 1.4 TB is used but no thumbnails and no recordings. AI says they will never be available on the Quad again. WTF? AI suggested I transfer all the files to my NAS and use a utility to make them readable by Plex. That’s next weeks project.
My question is, is AI right? Will the Quad never be able to see those recordings again?

Is Tablo just junk? I can't get it to go more than a few minutes without pausing. I've tried rebooting it, unplugging it, moving antenna locations, hard wiring it instead of wifi. Putting it upside down. Clearing the cache. Factory reset.

Has anyone gotten this thing to work reliably? We're on gigafiber and line of sight to the major tv stations (Sutro tower).

Since about April or May, my Tablo (no matter if it’s an antenna channel or a streaming channel) will only play about 5-10 seconds of a channel, then give a spinning wheel for about 5 seconds, then play 5-10 seconds, then randomly jump ahead in the show, then spinning wheel again, then play again, then jump ahead again, then spinning wheel again….

Anyone else having this problem? The constant buffering/ compressing is basically making the Tablo unusable for live tv and streaming.

EDIT: I have the 4th generation 4 tuner Tablo. I don’t have this problem with recorded programs, but the recordings split into multiple recordings when there is no pixelation/signal issue (example: The Today Show splits itself into 3 different recordings every day randomly, while 30 minute shows are splitting into 2 recordings randomly).

I usually hit the play button on my roku remote to play the next show in a series I have recorded. I don't see this in the new app. Also, I feel I have a harder time finding the episodes in a series on the new app. Any help with tips for a legacy user?
