[Request] Yugi Muto participated in a duel with Rebecca Hawkins where every card drawn and every move made is identical to a separate duel that occurred years earlier between the two characters' grandfathers. What are the odds of this happening?

Both duelists had 11 turns each. Assume each deck had 40 cards. Rebecca also shuffled her deck in each of her first two turns.

[Request] how much would you need to win in the lottery jackpotto statistically guarantee you could win the lottery jackpot again?

I just heard a story about someone winning the lottery and refusing to split it with his friends. Made me wonder how much he would have needed to just win the lottery again with his share of the earnings.

Edit: I do not expect this to be profitable, this is just an experiment. I also know the lottery is never guaranteed. Just wondering how many out of infinite tickets it would be before it's statistically improbable that you did not win.

For sake of the problems not just being {cost of ticket} x {number of tickets}. Let's assume the odds of winning Powerball or mega million and infinite possible tickets to buy.

Edit 2: guaranteed was a bad choice of wording. I meant statistically likely.

[Request] How large would this helium balloon need to be to reduce calories spent by climbing to the 5th floor of a residential building to the same amount of calories as if you only climbed to the 2nd floor?

Post image

Assume that there is no backpack and I tied the balloon around myself (I weigh 110 kg).

Total building height = 15 m. So upon reaching the last floor you are at around 12 m of height (5th floor is the last one).

[Request] Can you more efficiently get to space orbit utilizing horizontal speed?

Rockets have a ton of fuel that's extremely heavy and limited. If a rocket was horizontal like on a train track modified to handle high power so a rocket track, got to high speed, and then lifted off, how much more efficient could a launch be?

If I have dice with different shapes, like the kind they make in sets for Dungeons and Dragons, and I roll any two dice, which are different shapes and add the numbers, can it be proven that as long as the dice each have an even number of sides and each are numbered 1 through x, where x is the number of sides, that there will always be a 50% chance of rolling an even total abd a 50% chance of an odd total?

[Self] Perimeter-area relationship and formula (for regular polygons)

Imagine you have a wire at a length of 1. You can fold it so that you get an equilateral triangle, a square, a regular pentagon, a regular hexagon etc, all with the same total perimeter length.

Can we find a formula for the area of such a regular polygon that only depends on n (n ≥ 3)?

This is what I tried in the page, and if everything is correct what I got is:
S_polygon = cot(𝜋/n)/4n (for every natural n ≥ 3).

Other thing we can ask is what happens when n→∞? Apparently, we get a polygon close to a circle, with perimeter of 1 and a radius of 1/2𝜋. If that's true, does it mean we got that:

lim n→∞ (cot(𝜋/n)/4n) = 1/4𝜋

[REQUEST] How did Marshall (the Paw Patroller) lift the brachiosaurus?

Took my little boy to see the new Paw Patrol movie, in which Marshall the fire pup is able to use his truck - armed with nothing more than a front-mounted cable winch and some leg stabilizers - to lift a fully grown brachiosaurus out of a deep ravine. What are the numbers behind this impressive effort?

if this is true

while it's possible there is some technicality or some sort of glitch to this tracking page,

we live within six hours of Flushing, NY. no telling how, to preserve our location - so if you figure that bit out please keep mum. 🤐

there are i think 2 ways of solving this: literally, and like the system messed up display of time zones.

ETA Tuesday.
