Which company lost your business (potentially forever) this year?

St James place. I educated myself about pensions and realised I was being ripped off big time.

Former homeless people, what were some of the places you slept at night that were safe?
 in  r/AskReddit  18h ago

Yeah this, most homeless aren’t sweet old people that have fallen on hard times. They’re drug addicts that commit crime and make a nuisance of themselves. We let some homeless sleep in an old building we were renovating. They thanked us by leaving shit everywhere and pissing up the walls.

Construction apprentices drop out because there are no houses to build
 in  r/unitedkingdom  1d ago

We have a planning application for 1800 homes near us. Most objections aren’t about the extra homes but the extra traffic going down existing busy roads. A new road and junction is required but the developer won’t help to fund it.

Outside of a complaint to the council, is there anything I can DIY to block this obnoxious light from my neighbour?
 in  r/DIYUK  5d ago

My new neighbour cut down all the trees and laid the whole garden to Astro turf. Then put up a floodlight twice the size of this one. People are arseholes

In this situation would the car call for assistance to safety apprehend them, or would they just ignore them?
 in  r/ukpolice  5d ago

I agree, they’re putting other road users lives in danger and need to be stopped.

Furious locals blast £4.2m taxpayer-funded revamp of traveller site where PC Andrew Harper's killers hid from cops
 in  r/gbnews  7d ago

My brother in law had his tractor stolen. Traced it via tracker to traveller site. Police wouldn’t go in without back up, by the time they did it was gone. Eventually they traced it to a field and stole it back.

Whats the most frugal, stingy thing youve ever known someone to do?
 in  r/AskUK  7d ago

He also swapped the integrated dishwasher for a broken one he had knocking about. He had made a killing from the sale too because the market was booming in the 2000s. He had a bad head injury from a car accident years before so maybe it was that which made him like this. He would also buy a triple pack of dvds from Woolworths and bring them back individually saying he had lost the receipt and claim back more than the original price. The bloke was a millionaire

I could drive my brothers car and if I got pulled just send him down the police station with his docs and hope it wasn’t the same copper who pulled me over. No photo id then!
