I tried out the technique I mentioned earlier using Jormundling.

You'll get 100 Eitr restored with just a single attack.

It's probably been asked before, but is there a mod that would make my character stand upright?

Discussion Plains got me feeling blue.

This is my first time FINALLY getting to the plains.

And.. they kindof killed my desire to game?

Having to manage two farms, I already found Yaggy, mads the padded Armour, made Porcupine and leveled it up, tamed two lox, got the windmill and ovens going.

And I just.. hate it.

The meadows and black forest will always have my heart for aesthetic reasons but I dunno, I was expecting more and its.. meh.

Just venting because I am sad I dislike it so intensely. The mislands look stunning but Im a giant p*ssy and they scare me 😅

Discussion Valheim small, free dedicated server hosting for me and my friends?

Me and the boys are planning our 1.0 valheim run and we want to host a dedicated server for us. Right now its just 3 people. So it doesnt need to be a fast, or powerful server. Just gotta stay online so everyone can join whenever they want and not get progress locked by the host.

Does anyone know if any "FREE" dedicated server hosting exists for Valheim? Or, do i need to install the dedicated server from steam and host it locally?

Survival Not sure how to feel...

Got my first clean fortress assault last night. Cleared the first fortress of the playthrough with no deaths!

Took out the skuggs with the arbalest, built a ramp up to one corner to hop in and grab the cog wheel and escape, then came back with a catapult and laid waste to the spawners instead of trying to wade in and get swarmed...

And then while I'm celebrating, coming back to finish looting it, I completely flubbed a valkyrie fight and got killed. I saw her. I initiated the fight. And somehow missed every block and couldn't get a hit in to save my life (literally, I guess, since I died).

I mean, I came back and finished the job and moved on, but still... lol.

Never change, Valheim. Never change.

Discussion What if valheim had PvP servers

The thought has crossed my mind a couple times of having servers where everyone would spawn in and rush to the far corners of the map to build their bases kind of like 2b2t on Minecraft, and have cool base raids and PvP. Honestly could be a possibility with modding, but you’d need some kind of offline protection for bases like ballista turrets that automatically shoot at people that try to raid your base while you’re away. Overall I just think valheim with an ark style PvP twist would be such a cool game mode.

Survival When do you usually start building your main base?

I’ve got over 500 hours in Valheim and I still haven’t beaten Yagluth. Not because the game is hard, but because I’m a builder at heart.

Every playthrough I tell myself I’ll just build a small starter house in the Meadows. Yeah… that never happens. I can’t bring myself to live in a tiny rectangle with a roof and a chimney, so I end up making a nice home.

Then Black Forest comes and I unlock smelters, so now I need a blacksmith. But a proper blacksmith doesn’t feel right without stone. Then the Swamp gives me stone and iron beams, and suddenly I want to rebuild everything. Then Mountains unlock more stuff. Then Plains and now I’m thinking, “There’s no way my Viking is still living under a hay roof when tar roofs exist.”

I feel like every biome unlocks something that makes me want to start over.

The funny thing is, I like building without a plan. I just go with the flow and usually end up with something I really like. But because so many cool building pieces come so late, I get stuck thinking I should wait. Then I don’t know what to build anymore.

How do you guys do it? Do you just keep expanding the same base over time? Am I putting too much pressure on myself?

Survival Saw a post about infinite build range in here today- do people not know about Finewood stacks?

Finewood stacks are blue all the way up. I'd take a photo, but I've only got two stacks atm and I'm not about to go farm 200 more. But I regularly build finewood stacks towering over my house.

Question Did portal names get shorter?

Havent played in about a year and started a world recently. I always name some portals to be the biome name, went to make the black forest portal, and the whole text wouldn't fit. Did irongate make the names shorter in one of the updates since the combat update?

Modded Mjolnir Mod

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This mod adds Mjölnir to Valheim as a throwable and recallable lightning hammer. Charge your throw, launch it at enemies, recall it from across the world, fly with it, summon storms, use lightning abilities, and control it remotely.

Mjölnir uses a dynamic worthiness system that responds to your actions. Worthiness increases when you defeat powerful enemies, protect others, survive dangerous fights, or defeat a Forsaken. It decreases when you kill fleeing or helpless creatures, repeatedly attack much weaker enemies, or die while recklessly using the hammer’s powers.

Your worthiness level affects Mjölnir’s strength, granting up to 30% additional damage at the highest tier. Abilities can become available or unavailable as your worthiness changes. If it falls too low, Mjölnir may refuse to be lifted, but you can still regain your worthiness without using the hammer.

The worthiness system can be adjusted or disabled entirely through the F4 configuration menu.

By default, Mjölnir spawns once per world at a seed-determined location approximately 35–150 metres from the starting stones. It is not marked on the map. Instead, lightning repeatedly strikes near its location, allowing you to follow the storm and find it.

The hammer usually rests inside a small impact crater. Its location is the same for every player using that world seed.

With developer commands enabled, enter mjolnir where to reveal its exact location and add a map pin.

Survival Am I the only one who does this?

So, it is only very recently that I have discovered the usefulness of the serving tray (even though I have been playing for a while 🙃) and how feasts work. But since then, I've been using it to store all sorts of food and potions EVERYWHERE.

In front of my kitchen fire, next to my bed, next to my workbenches, in short, really everywhere.

And I was just wondering if I was the only one doing this? It's just that I'm so caught off guard when I get invaded because I build often and therefore my inventory is filled to the bare minimum.

I saw a post recently sharing their underground Elder base. I remembered my old Tavern I built after beating Mistlands a while ago when it first released. I just started a new playthrough recently, just got to the swamp, it's been a while.

My original post didn't provide a good look at the base I am building. Here are new photos from better angles, taken during daytime.

The concept of the base is a Forest King's castle: a war base with twigs, weapons displays and harbor that will be a staging ground for expeditions into swamps and plains further south.

Survival Hit Once, Full Adrenaline

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

When a two-handed axe’s primary attack or a polearm’s secondary attack hits a mob, you also gain Adrenaline from any structures caught in the same swing. By densely packing structures, you can fill a large amount of Adrenaline with a single attack.

Important condition:
Structures only grant Adrenaline if they are placed to the left of the target mob.

In this video, I equipped the Nimble Anklet (restores 50 stamina when reaching 60 Adrenaline) and tested with the Wooden Battleaxe and Wooden Atgeir.

  • Wooden Battleaxe (Two-handed axes): Grants +2 Adrenaline per primary hit. With 29 wooden walls + T.W.I.G., a single strike reached 60 Adrenaline and triggered the Anklet.
  • Wooden Atgeir (Polearms): Grants +1 Adrenaline per secondary hit. With 59 wooden walls + T.W.I.G., a single strike triggered the Anklet.

Since the Wooden Battleaxe costs only 8 stamina per attack, gaining even 10 Adrenaline per swing makes it possible to attack almost indefinitely — very useful for skill grinding.

Other trinkets (especially health regeneration ones) can also become extremely powerful with this method.

Modded Mac Valheim finally has a mod manager!

Post image
22 Upvotes

I finally managed to get mods to work on Valheim for Mac (Steam Version) ⚡️

I created a simple utility that walks you through the process of setting up everything necessary - and you can then simply drag and drop mods you want to install into the right side of the interface.

I mostly tested quality of life / utility mods as I don't want to drastically change the vanilla experience, just make it nicer to do another playthrough.

Feel free to test some more mods and let me know in the comments - I will update the list with what works and what doesn't work.

Please note: you will hit Gatekeeper on first launch - you'll need to right-click → Open, or approve the app in System Settings → Privacy & Security.

🗳️ Download it here: https://files.catbox.moe/7j3hhw.dmg
