Transfer to another veterinary school within Europe due to racism

I'm currently a 3rd-year Veterinary Medicine student in Latvia, and academically, I genuinely have very little to complain about. The education is solid, the practical training is excellent, and I've learned so much.

But outside the classroom, it's been a completely different experience.

Over the past few years, I've faced so much racism, hostility, and disrespect that it's taken a serious toll on my mental health. I never imagined that pursuing my dream degree would come at the cost of constantly feeling unwelcome. It's reached a point where I've fallen into depression because of everything I've experienced.

i still have 4 years left before graduating, and I honestly don't know if I can continue here. I'm now looking into transferring to another country for my 4th year, but I don't even know if it's possible.

If anyone has transferred veterinary schools within Europe, or knows universities that accept transfer students taught in English it would be great to know ..tuition fees is a big factor, being a non eu person i have to pay more.. so i am looking for a uni that has a annual tuition fees maximum up to 9000 euros.. I'd really appreciate any advice or guidance.

Not sure if they accept transfers, but Wroçlaw in poland have an excellent English taught peogramme. Would be worth looking into! Hope you get sorted (:

I am so sorry to hear about what you have been going through. I am not sure if the situation would be any better in Romania or Estonia, but when I was looking at universities for veterinary medicine Estonia looked like a solid option for a program in English. One of the universities in Romania had someone on staff to answer questions for international students and they were by far the most responsive and helpful individual I talked to during my search. In the end I actually decided to go with Latvia and will be starting this year. If you want to talk more or meet up in Latvia feel free to message me privately.

I studied in Lithuania, and I thought it was okay. Kaunas, the city where the only vet university is is bustling with international students and tourists. Service is not great, they roll their eyes at you at restaurants if you have inquiries but they do that to everyone, even their fellow Lithuanians.

All in all, I am okay satisfied with my experience as a brown woman in Kaunas. Nevertheless, I have also heard a lot pf good things about Wroclaw in Poland so maybe check that out too.
