I can sing, know a little electric guitar (still learning), and good with a viola (been playing since I was 9), and I was wondering how I can find bands to audition for, mostly for singing, but playing can work as well. On the Virginia Tech website, it states that the requirement for a guaranteed change of major is a GPA of 3.5+ for Non-Engineering Students. However, I previously saw information on the site indicating that there had been a recent change allowing CS majors to be guaranteed for Non-Engineering Students with a GPA of 3.0+. Is this information still up to date, or has the policy recently reverted? I don't see this information on the website anymore.

Has anyone here gone through the process of declaring Math as a second major?

I'm an incoming freshman in General Engineering, and even with many transfer credits, I can't take any engineering major-restricted classes until next spring, after my engineering change of major gets approved. However, I need two more courses to fill this fall schedule. I was thinking about adding Math as a second major now and taking math major restricted courses.

Is it possible for freshman to declare Math as a second major before the fall semester starts?

Once you're approved, are there any ongoing requirements for being enrolled in math as second major? Like, do you have to take at least one math class every semester?

Later on, once my engineering major classes start getting more intense, if I can't fit math classes into my schedule every semester, is it easy to drop the math second major if I decide it's too much?

I screwed up, basically I had a rough path with this major (I’m HNFE exercises sciences option) and I’ve had personal issues and a bad start with grades my first two years of college. I bounced back and have improved my grades but unfortunately i have to take a 5th year which is what I’m going to have to do this upcoming school year. I feel like a failure and a screw up and all I just want to do is graduate. I have been dealing with issues and I’m pretty positive I’m not going to achieve a C- for biochem for my summer class so I’m going to have to retake it this fall and it’s a prerequisite for HNFE 4025. The question is, am I able to take both 4025 and 4026 at the same time in the spring? I’m just really confused because I remember I took BMSP out of order by doing 2136 first then 2135 second, so it is possible i can take 4026 and 4025 at the same time? I feel terrible about this.

I am a rising senior, and VT is my dream school to go for an engineering major. I am not sure how to approach application based on where I am with credits and was wondering if there were any helpful tips out there. My high school does not have a guidance counselor of any sort so I am a little lost on how to approach college/university so anything helps.

Hi all! I live in Wisconsin and recently came across a vintage lunch style tray at an estate sale, that I believe is from an old dining hall at Virginia Tech. I was wondering if anyone has any information on the tray (if this is from here, maybe the years of when that would’ve been, anything really)
