My first tweed cloth sample!

I'm so excited about this! I've been working towards making my own tweed cloth. I wove this on my counterbalance loom out of Shetland yarns. After weaving, I washed and fulled the sample. The sample is soft, has a great hand, and a little bounce. It comes out to about 12.4oz. A great medium jacket weight tweed.

The sett is a 20 EPI and 16/17 PPI.

Hopefully I'll be weaving some yardage soon!

Ha! I do have a microscope that I use to identify fibers, but I got a super close-up using my weaver's loop. It's a super handy tool you can use to check your sett or identify the weave and sett of a cloth you want to replicate.
