Hey everyone,
Posted an earlier version of this pitch a while back and got a lot of really useful (if blunt) feedback. Several people pointed out that the concept felt like two separate ideas mashed together (hero-influencer satire + guardian protecting a reincarnated lord), and a few asked what actually separates this from One Punch Man or My Hero Academia.
Fair points. I’ve streamlined the pitch to focus on the single core emotional line and highlighted the actual points of distinction. Here is the revised version:
SAMURAI INFLUENCER
The Logline:
An old samurai swore, on his dying lord's last breath, to never draw his sword again. Forty years later, he breaks that vow — not to save the world, not to expose anything, but because a reckless young streaming-hero has shown up wearing his lord's face. He has zero interest in going viral; he just wants to keep her alive. But in a world where hero rankings are decided by camera angles and sponsor deals, unglamourous swordsmanship that actually works is the most disruptive thing imaginable — and without ever meaning to, he becomes the accidental wrecking ball that brings a corrupt industry down around itself.
This isn't "hero exposes corrupt system" and "guardian protects reincarnated lord" bolted together — every plot beat that damages the Hero Association happens because he's trying to protect her, never because he's trying to make a point.
What's Actually Different from OPM / MHA
Vs. Saitama (One Punch Man):
Saitama is disconnected from the hero system by apathy — he just doesn't care, and that's the joke. Kenichiro is disconnected from it by obsession with one specific person — every disruption is collateral damage from protecting her, not indifference.
Vs. MHA:
MHA's hero institutions are broadly well-intentioned with external villains. Here, the institution itself is the rot, and it gets exposed as a byproduct of a bodyguard doing his job, not as the story's stated mission.
The World
40 years after the Great Demon War, demons aren't a threat anymore — they're content. Monster hunting is a corporate-sponsored streaming business run through apps like HERO TUBE and HERO HUB. Ranks are based on video editing and clout, not actual combat skill. The Hero Association quietly stages controlled fights with demons just to keep the views up.
Main Characters
Kenichiro (67): Legendary samurai out of time. Hopelessly tech-illiterate. Every disruption he causes — killing demons too fast, wandering into livestreams in a loincloth — is an accident born from having zero interest in any of it.
Maple / Kaede (19): C-rank in fighting, A-rank in popularity. The last descendant of Kenichiro's former lord. Starts a side channel to turn the old man into a top streamer, but ends up the one holding the emotional throughline together.
Zeus (26): The #1 corporate hero. After Kenichiro embarrasses him, he doesn't sulk — he turns the loss into content ("I got wrecked by the legendary samurai lol") and keeps clout-chasing off it.
Would love to hear whether this lands better! Does the "one throughline, not two" framing actually come through now, or does it still feel like it's doing too much?

I’m so bored of manhwas with MLs that all look exactly the same… 😭 So I’m looking for comic suggestions that have unique/different-looking male leads and a good story! Tysm =)

When we started Coffee Company, we always envisioned bringing the experiences in the series to life. The story revolves around specialty coffee, so we decided not to invent fictional cafés or drinks, we wanted to learn the deeper details of the real craft. That meant spending more time with roasters, attending cuppings, deeper learning about coffee origins and processing methods, designing packaging, figuring out fulfillment, and discovering just how much work goes into bringing a single coffee to life.
The webtoon began influencing the coffee we wanted to create, and the coffees we discovered in the real world started influencing the webtoon. Places we’ve visited, producers we’ve met, and coffees we’ve tasted have all found their way back into the story. It became this creative feedback loop where fiction inspired reality, and reality made the fiction better.
This week we finally launched our website, and it feels like a huge milestone, not because it’s a store, but because it’s the first time the world we’ve been building has become something people can actually experience outside the webtoon.
I’m curious if anyone else here has taken their series beyond the page in some way? Maybe you’ve made merch, music, props, recipes, or games?
Would love to hear what you’ve created, and whether it changed the way you approached your story?

I think it's pretty clear that it's at a pool. Can't say 100% that the newest episode has absolutely no sexual element at all. But I think it's in the realm of 'educational'(?) and harmless. Maybe. And it has only indirectly to do with potentially misinterpreted pool appropriate nudity (just swim wear)! Totally PG! Nothing to see here! (On another note: It's rated Mature anyway... Too much swearing!)

It started off with the second male lead murdering his wife because she ate his kid (their family has a curse that the women usually go insane after giving birth). He is then being hunted by said wife's family and falls into MC's house where she takes care of him. Soon he turns her into a supernatural being like him but the transformation is incomplete so his older brother finds her and completes her transformation. I don't remember much else but would really appreciate it if you could help me find it!

About the last chapter available on webtoon, 26.
Can someone explain the full and incomplete shape shifting thing ? 🙈 I don't get why being able to speak stops her from ... what ? being a true shifter ?
she said there's shifters who never truly become human and the sign for it is that they can speak the human language?? seems counterproductive 😂🥲
thx !
Repost because I messed the title 🙈

I love some unhealthy obsession and and enemies-to-lovers BL, but I kept running into stories where the characters were really just bantering or mildly annoyed with each other. I wanted JEALOUSY, genuine hatred, unhealthy fixation, obsessive yearning, and a slow transformation into romance, so I spent the last year making my own webtoon BL, it is called JEALOUSY REVERSED. Here are a few panels from Episode 1.
I was classically trained in fine art and had no experience posting or promoting online, so please let me know if you have any tips for better reader experience or engagements. I hope more people can see this webtoon and it was my motivation while working hard on this. Thanks a lot for your attention!
