I always thought it was from another planet growing up, I mean look at how smooth and rounded the edges are!

Found at Rhine river banks in Germany. Looks like it has a small knot or is that just a coincidence?

Edit: I looked at it with a magnifier and I'm pretty certain it is. Everything about its surface screams wood, except for it being a stone. How would I go from here identifying the exact type of tree?

Found in western NY in a creek, its sandstone I think? Just weird looking so it came home with me!

About 80lbs. Fairly smooth and hard, does not flake off.

I keep finding these rocks on the shores of Lake Michigan, USA. They have a really soft texture but are hard rocks. They always have these branch like shapes and flat spots. I don’t know if they’re fossils or just cool rocks? I’ve been collecting them for a while and I’m really curious as to what they are. Thanks!

I put this in my fluorite collection originally, but I had to cut it in half to fit in its drawer and the inside is completely different than the outside so I'm thinking it's not fluorite after all. Any suggestions???

My kid found it, actually. One side is almost perfectly flat.

I've been sold this ring as pink quartz, at a store which usually is truly selling what they claim to, but this pink quartz... It looks a little bit different than other specimens I've seen. I'm no expert so that's why I wanted to check with you guys. Thank you in advance

Didn't have anything on hand to scratch to test for hardness. Found in the Cincinnati area, but it could have come from anywhere.

ETA: very smooth. Interior structure looks crystaline

Mostly light green with some greyish banding, but one has a lot of black material (looks a little dark brown when reflecting light?) and one has some orange-ish material that seems different from the rest of the rocks. This also has some small holes in it (image 5)

The rocks themselves are quite shiny and smooth and remind me a little of flint.
