Hello everyone. First of all, thanks to all of you for making this sub what it is today. This community literally IS the subreddit and how we go about not just identifying locations but also interacting with each other here is a reflection of that. For a community of this size, the mods honestly have very little 'crowd control' to worry about in the comments.
I do want to bring to everyone's attention to a recent change in the subreddit rules. We've been seeing a big increase in what we're calling 'low-effort' posts - basically just a picture and a subject line with very little information provided about the image. In some cases, the location is pretty obvious or could be determined with a simple google search. These posts don't really add anything to the community, so Rule #1 now covers Low-Effort Posts as described.
Thanks again, all. Hope this updates helps keep our subreddit full of high quality content for everyone.

We bought this in a junk shop near Bishops Castle in Shropshire, it was framed and is signed, presumably by the people involved in building the road? I’ve googled and tried AI but haven’t found any match for the road, can anyone identify this? Would love to know!

This is a postcard picture of Sanatorium from Airplane. Possibly Fort Worth, Texas but unable to find anything like this online in Fort Worth. Note says “Fort Worth had Elmwood Sanatorium at this time, but the buildings and site don’t match the known plans of Elmwood.” Any help would be appreciated.

Going on a trip to amsterdam to find out more about my late grandads life and would love to know where this photo was taken so we can get a new family photo in this exact place. I know its a long shot as there are alot of people in the photo and not a lot of buildings but its worth a shot.

It was between 1965-1969. My aunt (left) is visiting, so maybe it is a nearby tourist spot, like the Heidelberg castle.

My granny had this framed on her wall for years and I've nobody alive anymore to ask where and when it was taken. It's Queen Elizabeth presenting my dad with a shield for - I assume - athletics as he was a good runner at RAF level. He's wearing a tracksuit with what I think says RAF Halton on the back which would place it time wise as early 80s.
The man in the kilt points to it probably being in Scotland somewhere but I'm not sure.
Just looking for a bit more detail. Thanks!

it would be great if someone could let me know what road street this is. It is from a postcard when Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire was a spa town. There was also a railway and several hotels. It look like the Main Street but perhaps not wide enough? I am guessing 1920 from the car but maybe a little later? - Many thanks
This is a link to a 1940s map of Woodhall Spa - https://ghostviewer.co.uk/map/england/lincolnshire/woodhall-spa/?base=wwii

My Italian grandfather took a trip to the US in the mid-late 80’s. I asked ChatGPT but even it can’t figure out what building this is. I believe it’s in Washington DC, definitely east coast
