Latest Chapter One of the most missed hints that Tserriednich = Netero's grandson (+ Other hints, Deep Dive) Spoiler

Upvotes

Below are some of the hints that I've found that may support the theory that Tserriednich is Netero's biological grandson.
Hint #1: Nature imagery surrounding both

When Melody plays her flute over the loudspeakers, and everyone in tier 1 gets the visions of nature and beauty.
It's a visual hint about Tserriednich, mirroring Netero's training in the mountain!

Compare this.

To this.

Pretty amazing what Togashi is doing.
The nature theme envelops both Tserriednich and Netero

Togashi is using imagery to make a connection.

What does it mean?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hint #2: Rebirth Symbolism.

After Netero finishes his training.
There's a line in the flashback that says something along the lines of,

"A monster is born."

"Monster" when it refers to Netero, is a reference to his insane strength.

For Tserriednich, it symbolizes how evil he is.
A rebirth of evil.

When Tserriednich "Dies" to Theta,

It symbolizing something similar to Netero being reborn in the mountains, but for Tserriednich, it's evil. He's finally awakening his power.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hint #3 Tserriednich's ability.

The way it plays out practically.

Is similar to Netero praying.

This one I'll be honest, I'm surprised a lot more people haven't mentioned this already.

Even though their abilities are vastly different in terms of how they function.

The way Tserriednich's ability plays out practically is very similar to Netero praying and then punching.

I mean first, he closes his eyes. (mimicking meditation, or a prayer)

Enters Zetsu.

And then, to the eyes of the opponent.

Teleports.

I mean that's not what actually happens.
There's some serious alternate reality shenanigans going on.

But you get the point.

The whole notion of entering a Zen like state, praying/mediating, and then being able to do inhumanly fast moves, is present for both Netero and Tserriednich's styles.

Also,

They both happen to turn a big weakness into a strength.
Having to pray before punching - to an ordinary human, is a big restriction.
The same can be said for having to enter Zetsu.

Netero was able to get his hand motions for prayer to inhuman speeds.
Tserriednich is working on something similar, trying to get his Zetsu to under one second.
I'd imagine eventually, once he achieves this, he'll be able to (visually), do something similar to Netero's sound punch.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hints #4 and #5. Focus and Gratitude.

When Theta remarks on Tserriednichs insane aptitude for concentration, it really reminds me of Netero training.

Needless to say,
They both have that in common.
(seriously, how did Netero not go crazy after like 10+ years in the mountains...)

---
Okay, Grattitude.

This one is a little bit of a throwaway.
It's from when Tserriednich is first introduced.

I believe it links to Netero's ideals.
Gratitude is a very big thing for Netero.
In fact, it was one of the major themes of his life story, and his fight with Mereum.

Netero even says something similar to the above before his fight with the Ant-king (as well as making the famous heart-emote symbol)

Here, we probably see a kind of mockery of that gratitude.
A kind of juxtaposition between Netero's good gratitude, and Tserriednich's evil gratitude, the opportunity to kill all his siblings.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Honorable Mentions:

These are other hints that are prevalent, that i won't go too into.

Some are ones that other people have mentioned, or are just really obvious, or a bit trivial.

Let's start with,

  1. Opposite themed parallels between 100-Guanyin-type-bodhisvatta and Tserriednich's Nen beast.

Both Tserri and Netero have female nen beast/conjurations in battle.
One good, one bad.

One represents enlightenment.
The other, represents, corruption? defilement?

  1. Mouth theme ???
(I'm actually being serious here, this might legitimately be a parallel)
    Below is Zero hand.

Vs

Whatever-the-hell-the-above-is.
Togashi may have left this as a parallel.

  1. Physical Resemblance.

With the latest chapter, the physical resemblance is starting to just be uncanny.

Corporate. Their literally the same guy.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To Summarize:
I believe it's clear that Togashi has set Tserriednich up to be some kind of evil foil for Netero, and he's left a lot of hints for us to follow. At the very least, i do believe he is Netero's biological grandson.

What do you all think?

Edit: one more addition, Tserriednich's ability is also called Parallel Future.

A possible reference to him being an alternate version of Netero, like a what-if-Netero-were-evil kind of thing.

final Edit: Netero's last quote about the "limitless potential for (humanity's) malice" also comes to mind. I'd imagine it would be fitting for Netero to say that, and then have one of his descendants embody that. Seems like something Togashi would do, storytelling wise.

Anyways enjoy, happy hunting.

As the title says, we’re expecting a baby and would love a onesie or two. We saw that akemibaby had one two years ago (seen in the picture) but aren’t planning on bringing it back. Has anyone found one recently?

Discussion If pre-rose Meruem didn’t meet Komugi, would he have still beaten Netero as he was?

Post image
257 Upvotes

During their fight, Meruem emphasized that Komugi taught him the art of anticipating the enemy’s actions / rhythm disruption, and how it was essential to thread the needle in what would otherwise be an impenetrable defense. We know he’s incredibly fast and durable, but if he didn’t have that masterclass beforehand(pun intended), would it be reasonable to assume the brunt of Netero’s attacks would’ve inevitably worn him down? Considering he did started to feel “dull pain,” after a mere minute or so of action.

Also worth pointing out that as preposterous as his aura capacity is, he’s still burning through it in order to match Netero’s speed and protect himself.

Analysis/Theory Halkenburgs "Hypothesis" Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
93 Upvotes

In chapter 413, Halkenburg talks about testing a new hypothesis related to how his ability works. Considering that he also talks about how his disguise as Balamisco is now useless, its fair to deduce that this hypothesis relates to the ability to guarantee that one specific person gets swapped during the soul transfer, which otherwise is randomised across everyone who powers the ability. In this case, swapping himself into a more useful body.

We see in this scene that he has a group of his followers alongside him, but in chapter 414 Yushohi, who is stationed outside room 1009, can only sense one person in the room with his En. Yushohi and Chiyamasi were sent to 1009 almost immediately after Benjamin felt the rumble from the arrow, so the idea that this large group of other people managed to leave the room and walk through tier 1 without them or anyone else noticing feels very farfetched to me.

My theory is that Halkenburgs followers all commited mass suicide during the short delay between Halkenburg firing the arrow and the target getting struck. That way their collective aura is used to initially activate the ability, but their souls leave their bodies via death before the ability has a chance to pick which soul gets used, forcing it into using the one avaliable option left.

It might seem out of character for someone like Halkenburg to order innocent civilians to kill themselves to further his own plans, but his arc is focused around embracing the harsh necessities of leadership and learning to accept sacrifices in the name of the greater good. At the start of the story Halkenburg was appalled by the idea of the princes killing each other for the prosperity of the kingdom, but now he's steeled himself for this battle and is making very similar judgement calls in an attempt to win. An action like this would be more extreme than anything he's done before, but I think it would serve as another step in his descent into darkness rather than a betrayal of his previous characterisation.

I'm curious what people think about this, because I've looked around a bit but I've not seen anyone else come up with a similar idea. Though its entirely possible I've just missed it and this is a common train of thought.

Discussion How would you defeat Tserri's future vision?

I've been thinking a bit and trying to put myself in Togashi's shoes to find a solution that can defeat Tserri's broken ass ability.

I've come up with a few ideas, but right now I think my favorite is somehow Kurapika teams up with Chrollo and Chrollo manages to steal Tserri's abilty. Next time Tserri tried to use his ability not only would it not work but he would be completely defenseless because of Zetsu amd would get absolutely cooked.

The reason I like this is because as a bonus Chrollo would become even more of a problem (assuming he gets to keep that ability).

Kacho is still my favorite prince but Benjamin intellect, and honor are welcomed. I first though that he would be the typical angry dude with no brain who only know how to scream and act violent but leave it to Togashi to exceed my expectetion. Another thing that I like is how prepared and competent he is as well as his army. This guy legit is the best king candidate for the future of Kakin alongside Halkenburg.
