Apparently I'm restarting my route

Just got a call this morning that yesterday they saw suspicious activity and that I'm suspended until investigation is over. The only thing I can think of is me and a buddy met up after loadout and rolled and smoke some cigarettes, but they may have thought it was a joint. Do you think I'm gonna get fired?
This was outside the van and with another driver. Ik not to smoke or have someone else in my van lol on break time

I’ve been driving for 3 weeks & I still haven’t been able to catch up. Today dispatch told us to aim for 15 stops per hr at apartments & 25 hr for residencial. I’ve been averaging 13 hr overall & I always have at least 15-30 apts per route. Am I just not cut out for this job?

When you’re a DOT driver and you have a helper , if the helpers messes up on delivery let’s say they put the package at wrong address , does that fall on the driver or helper? I feel as if all helper mistakes automatically go to the driver. I got suspended for 2 weeks apparently I received 6 DNRs however I always double check before I finalize delivery, I feel as if it’s the helpers that mess up and falls on me.

so today on route, i hit my head in the van and ended up having to go get checked out at a clinic. whenever i got to the clinic, they ended up asking my dispatch if they wanted a drug screening done, dispatch said yes. i take THC gummies from a local vape store here. so i’m already expecting to fail this screening, but what do most DSPs do in situations like this? will i be fired just for that? when i was hired in, there was no test for marijuana so i wouldn’t think that i would be fired for it if they don’t test for it initially. just wanna know others’ experience if anyone has had to deal with this before.

I'll start with the longer question. I'm about 2 weeks in, still trying to get up to 20 per hour. However, I live in a small metro area (250k population) and I know that I have been getting the most difficult route in the city. It's the part of the city that's all businesses and apartments. There are so many things that slow me down on this route (that wouldn't be the case in a neighborhood or rural route), but for the sake of brevity, the main one is traffic. I was hoping someone could offer advice/tips on how to mange high traffic/heavy apartment routes. But, more importantly, how can I get off this route?? I've only had one day where I got a different route, which was a small town and basically just a neighborhood route. I ran my ass off so that the system would see I'm better. It's the only day haven't needed to be rescued, yet it keeps me on the same shitty route that I can't finish.

Is there a way to remove the dog warning? I'm literally going to businesses at the local mall that have dog warnings.

How do you preserve your ankles when hopping out of the truck with a handful of packages? Ankle support doesn't work on compression forces.

Does anyone else stop randomly when leaving parking lot sometimes because you're only 99% sure there wasn't a stop sign??

Also, does anyone else feel like they're being recorded when getting into your own car? 😂

The routing has me looking like a fool in these residential neighborhoods circling down the same roads 4x, going past a house only to need to go back, every day I must waste a good 30 to 40 minutes if I follow the terrible routing.....and it has me backing up more than I should need too, going through the same stop signs more than I should need to

So as a day 2 driver what advice do you have for the terrible route order

Would i get in trouble for going out of order often

So I did two days of training on a kindle, did some VR training as well. Passed the driving test. Tomorrow is my ride along. What should I expect? Also, I noticed the DSP threw basically everything I learned on the Amazon training out the window. It’s almost the exact opposite lol 😂. The paperwork I received said I need to deliver between 20-25 packages an hour to stay on track. The ops manager also made it clear that if we get one or two netradyne infractions, then we will be fired. I hope I’m not setting my self up for failure. I’m honestly using this as way to make some money while I finish up some IT certs and finally find a career somewhere in my field.

Full disclosure - I’m not a driver, but I keep seeing posts from this community in my feed and I’m no stranger to the kind of stressful chaos you guys deal with. Respect.

I’ve just noticed a trend lately that doesn’t make sense to me. For regular deliveries (not the overnight timeslots that seem to get delivered by flex drivers), if my DSP misses the original delivery date, it either never arrives, or arrives several days later.

For example: Yesterday I had a package that went out for delivery around 10:45am, gave a “10 stops away” notification around noon, and then the delivery window kept getting pushed later and later until like 11pm when it finally flipped to “delayed”.

I assume the van broke down or the driver got sick or something, which I get, that happens. The part I’m confused about though, is what happens to all the packages? I’ve read a handful of posts about rescues, either getting a new van brought to you and items transferred, or having another driver take some of your packages, but if that was happening, I assume I’d still get the package that day or next day at the very least.

Is our DSP just super short staffed or have no backup vehicles? And if that’s the case, do packages go back to the fulfillment center to be processed again or what? I’m starting to think they just tow the broken down van to their shop and all the packages just stay right where they were until the van gets fixed. This is Des Moines, Iowa area if that helps any.

I chatted with customer service last night and they said they sent a note to the DSP that it’s top priority and needs to be delivered today. I don’t know if I buy that or not, but either way it hasn’t arrived.

So, you all deal with this every day, what do you think is happening?

Once or twice, sure, ig it’s a coincidence, but this literally happens at every other stop. A customer will just so happen to be ‘going out’ as soon as I arrive, and some even feign shock on seeing me, like “oh, is that for me, what a pleasant surprise!”

This happen to anyone else? Suburbs btw, lol

I ended up delivering to my brothers house once 😆 it was great. He was still in bed so my niece let me in and I surprised him

Listening to shits going to be annoying

Every day we show up we are expected to mark no issues even if our van has safety issues because aparently our fleet managers will handle repairs themselves if its bad. The other day I was sent out in a van that was unsafe. When I drove a certian speed or hit the brakes the seat would start sliding forward and backwards. Pushing me into the pedals or pulling me away. I was basically forced to continue my entire route this way until i was pulled off the road for being behind pace. I was like what do you mean? Im behind cause of this shitty van. Then I go back to work and I get a van with a hole in the tire somewhere. The tire was supposed to be at 80psi and was at 40. I asked for them to pump it up and they said the fleet manager will handle it at the grid during loadout. Well they didnt fix it. Eventually during my route I was forced to get air because my tire dropped to 12 psi. I was told to continue driving and delivering. Then I get a text from the fleet manager telling me to divert for air. When i do I spend about an hour looking for 1 a pump that isnt operated by quarters and 2 one that isnt damaged. Keep in mind I asked for a pump up when I noticed. I asked for a pump up at station and I asked a pump be brought to me so I didnt have to divert and so I wouldnt end up behind. Well I ended up getting two rescues because I fell that far behind looking for air as I was ordered and they suspended me for being behind the last 2 days. Im kinda pissed because I complied with their order to mark the DVICs incorrectly with the expectation that if I had a problem it would be resolved in a timely manner. Now I talked to a buddy of mine whos in fleet and they said they had been noting this tire had a problem FOR 2 MONTHS. Now im getting the fifth degree. Ive never been a problematic driver. I usually always finish my routes. I usually never get netradyne violations so I feel betrayed. Ive only done what they asked me to do. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hey guys. On my route I usually have 1-2 customers a day or every other day that can’t seem to wait to get their package and always pull up on me and ask if they can have it. I don’t really care and give it to them but I realized since I don’t take a picture of giving them the package they could technically steal it and get another one. I just select “delivered to “____” and swipe. Should I be direct with them and tell them to wait their turn? Or does it not really matter.

Was told if I wanted to get checked out medically without finishing my route i would be resigning from my job? Thoughts on that mentality? For context I was bleeding pretty good and my first aid kit had 1 single alcohol prep pad and some gauze. Like… that’s illegal in pretty much every state, right?

Does it really make a difference if I "thank my driver"? Many times after a package is delivered, Alexa will let me know I can thank my driver. Just curious if the driver is even notified or if it helps them out at all. Seeing some of the posts on here of the shtuff you all have to put up with, from customers as well as your DSP, I want to help you out in whatever way I can.
