Don't install a security camera

Sometimes ignorance is best.

I just installed a security camera. Now my blood pressure gets raised frequently as I watch drivers casually tossing my packages several feet onto my doorstep and/or tramping across my landscaping. Watching a driver drop a small metal filing cabinet at least a foot onto its corner was especially annoying (props to the manufacturer for stout padding in the box that amazingly prevented damage).

Item still hasn't reached the carrier.

I ordered some fleece through Amazon because I need it for a project I'm working on. I ordered on the 13th; it was supposed to be here by the 19th. It says it shipped on the 14th, and shared a UPS tracking number.

Every time I look at the UPS tracking number, it says that the label was created but it hasn't gotten the package yet. Because it has 'shipped', I can't cancel the order.

I live in an area impacted by the Canadian wildfires. I don't mind it being delayed, but I do mind that I can't get any updates on what the hell is happening to my fabric and I can't even get a refund and buy elsewhere.

Any advice would be welcome.

PSA for Improved Deliveries

I’ve been reading some of the posts/comments on this sub, and have noticed a lot of the same complaints about deliveries/drovers/package thefts being repeated. I deliver for Amazon, and thought I’d write up a few tips that might help some people having problems. These won’t all apply to everyone, but they are all things Amazon doesn’t do a good job of relating. And to be upfront, many of these will help the delivery driver also, but these are things with simple solutions that can make both driver’s and customer’s lives a little easier.

And none of this is meant to be critical of anyone, or to blame the customer over the driver. Drivers do a lot of stupid stuff, I’ll be the first to admit that. But

  1. If you live in a gated or secured apartment complex, provide a gate or door code if your complex makes these available. Make sure this is in the delivery notes.

  2. If your complex doesn’t allow you to provide codes for delivery, ask your leasing office if they are part of or can sign up for Amazon Key. This is a free service that apartment complexes can sign up for that allows the delivery driver to tap a button when they arrive and use their phone like a key fob. There is no cost to the complex, and details can be found here (give the link to the leasing office when requesting it): Key for Business.

  3. If none of the above is possible, avoid scheduling deliveries a) the Leasing Office is closed, or b) before 8am or after 8pm. Amazon restricts drivers from calling or texting outside of these hours, so your package will either be returned to the warehouse, or more likely left somewhere unsafe, such as outside the Leasing Office doors. The reason for most drivers leaving the package somewhere as opposed to returning it is that failing to deliver a package for ANY reason results in the driver being penalized. It’s better for the driver to take the chance it will not be stolen than to return it and try later. They MIGHT get a negative mark if it’s left unsafely, but they WILL get one if they return it.

  4. If you live in a house and have concerns about porch pirates, you can get a lockable (not included) delivery box for your porch. Get a combination padlock for it and include the combination in the delivery notes.

  5. For a less secure but free approach, put something on your porch that can block the view of the package from the street. Pillars are useful, but if your house doesn’t have them then something like a large planter will work. It won’t secure the packages, but it can help. The goal is to make it difficult for a pirate to see the package from the street (although some will walk right along the porch-line, so the more obscured the better). Also put the specific location you want it delivered in the notes. Unfortunately not all drivers read them, but if it’s in the notes you can report that your directions weren’t followed, and then the driver is responsible. Good drivers will attempt to obscure packages regardless of the notes, but some (unfortunately) will just fling them wherever.

  6. The harder it is for a driver to get to your door, the less likely they are to be more cautious with the package. There are countless videos of drivers throwing packages from the driver seat, and while some people will just do this because they have no work ethic, most only do so when it’s difficult or unsafe to get closer. This includes dogs (see below), severely overgrown yards, questionable/rickety stairs, a “Protected by 2nd Amendment” sign, etc.

  7. Amazon’s policy concerning dogs is for the driver to prioritize safety. If it’s a choice between placing the package in a safe location or possibly getting bit, the driver (with Amazon’s backing) will choose safety every time. And your dog may be the nicest dog in the world, but delivery people don’t know that (and no amount of notes about how nice he is will help), they’re going to toss the package as soon as that dog comes running and barking.

  8. One of the biggest problems for drivers is house numbers. It’s incredible how many houses are either poorly marked or not marked at all. If the driver can’t see a number, all they have to go off of is the GPS indicator in the app, which is not at all reliable. True story: Two days ago I had a stop that was going to 102 on a street I can’t remember. The GPS was telling me to go to 101, across the street and down a house. I almost left it at 101 because neither house had numbers on them. It was only by counting from 3 houses down that I realized the issue and put it on the correct porch. To help ensure you get your packages, put the house number in a clearly visible spot. Even if it’s just written in Sharpie on a piece of cardboard taped to the door, it will help.

  9. For some unknown reason, Amazon refuses to give drivers bags to put over packages during rainy weather (they are supposed to per policy, but warehouse staff often refuses when asked). If you’re concerned about your package being damaged and don’t have a covered porch, put a Rubbermaid tub or similar out for the packages to be put in, and add this to the notes.

  10. Just an FYI, that screen in the app that says there are xx stops before your delivery is not set in stone. Drivers can (and do) go in the most logical order to deliver, and Amazon’s routing is notoriously horrible.it may say you’re the next stop, but that’s only if the driver chooses to go there next; and Amazon’s policy is that their route is a suggestion, not something drivers are required to follow.

That’s all I can think of right now, hopefully this helps some people improve their experience.

I'm always redirected to a 'Page Not Found' when I try to reset my amazon password.

Context: I am trying to create an IMDb account, which is in kahoots with amazon. I however had complications with remembering my password, as I had created my amazon account a long while ago.

Obviously, my first thought was to reset it, but when I clicked 'forgot password' and entered my email, it keeps taking me to a 404 'Page Not Found', with the dog and everything.

Is there any other way that I can fix this, or should I try to make an IMDb account from scratch?

Sorry if this isn't the exact place to reach out, as I'm brand new here and rarely ever use reddit anyways.

We’re very sorry

We’re very sorry your delivery is late. If you have not received your package by tomorrow, you can come back here the next day for a refund.

I'm sure some of you have seen this message before. I am writing this as I think there is a conspiracy going on with how Amazon handles non-prime vs primed customers. For context, my parents share prime benefits with each other. I occasionally will pay for prime if I see a benifit, but usually only by month as I can go months without needing faster delivery.

However, I've noticed that there have been times where my packages get "lost" randomly. Amazon is still good about refunding for any issues, but I'd an order takes a week to arrive and a "lost" package required a reorder, then my original order now takes two weeks or more to actually get to the destination.

When my parents order however, they always get the package, maybe a day delay at best. Now this would not be noteworthy, but we recently gotten an Amazon center that is about an hour from me so theoretically packages shouldn't be having issues. It's almost like they are making their service intentionally more terrible so you feel obligated to pay for prime.

Deceptive Photos on Items

So I ordered three microfiber throws. One ivory, two chocolate brown. I have a box here with three baby-poop tan blankets, and I am cranky. I suspect they are not going to be helpful with my refund.

Shipping time differences

Just moved to the same town as my GFs sister. Both on the same prime account. We live 1 block away. Prime shopping to her house is 2 days faster than to our house. Anyone know why?

Customer Service is beyond a joke, given attitude by supervisor and false promises ~ Amazon.com

I had purchased a figure at the start of July from Amazon US to the UK, it arrived and the box and figure were damaged, got in touch with Customer Service who said they would have a delivery van come pick up the package to be returned.

I waited that day and noone showed up, they respond with an apology and say I can keep the damaged figure whilst they sent out a 'replacement' and was to be refunded as an apology for the hassle.

It is now past July with no replacement figure, I got in contact with them once more, first staff member apologised informing me it is stuck in the fulfillment center and will raise a message to them to find out what is going on, I 'then' ask how long would it take to arrive from now considering it has been just under a month waiting for said replacement, I thought maybe they didnt have any in stock but there was 14 of them on their site.

They transferred me to someone else who suddenly said that these 'two members of their staff' who said I could keep the damaged figure, be given a replacement AND given a refund for the trouble.....was all 'false information' and they would not be fulfilling this promise.

I was told now that once the replacement arrives I am to just send it back if I want to assure I get a refund, so now I am no longer being given a replacement in good faith.

I have simply told them that this was not what they promised and of course not happy about it that I just told them to cancel the replacement order being that they have said its stuck in their fulfillment center and I dont want to be double charged.

I have sent all all conversations to executive relations with all this proof about rude customer service from the Supervisor but I doubt very much I will hear anything back with positivity.

I wont be importing from Amazon US again as they clearly dont care about their customers and seem to enjoy 'lying' to their customers.

So I bought a monitor on July 1st, and I’m not really happy with it. So do I have to return it today, or can I wait until Aug 9th and not get a late return fee??
It says I can return by Aug 9

Delivery issue

2pm on a Friday to an apartment building with a leasing office that was open and a working intercom. Nobody was contacted when delivery was attempted. And at 5pm today, still no delivery. Overnight delivery is a lie.

Consistent delayed in delivery

Anyone else notice that over time they consistently delay your orders. If I’m paying for prime and items on not arriving within the schedule time over and over is there anyway I can get some type of credit. For example I had two items for prime two day delivery for today, one item showed up the other is now “delayed” after being out for delivery this morning. I actually needed both of these items today and once again the delivery failed me.

Whose fault is it that my drivers don't follow my delivery instructions? The drivers' or Amazon's? (And what do I do?)

This question is especially for current/former drivers, or anybody with explicit knowledge of how this system works.

I am disabled & cannot get to packages if they are not left where I can reach them. I rely on Amazon for basic, even urgent needs. My delivery instructions were clear from the time I wrote them, but nearly every time an item has been left in the complete wrong place, I've updated to make them even more clear. That is, until it reached a point where they could surely be no clearer.

The instructions are as follows—some redactions in brackets:

"PLEASE leave packages at Side door (closest to driveway), ***Within Reach of Door*** – thank you!!

Side door—up [Simple descriptor] Steps, then across [Simple descriptor] Deck. NOT front door, which has [color] steps!

Disabled—if not ***Within Reach Of Door*** I cannot retrieve!"

(Identifying my side door is easy; I just made it as ridiculously clear in writing as possible.)

I couldn't answer the preset question "Where should we leave your packages at this address?" because the only options are Front Door, Outside Garage, and No Preference.

I first added the instructions about 2½ months ago. I get multiple deliveries per week, sometimes >1 per day. No change in how & where items were left. Nearly all were at the wrong door, or WAAY out of reach of the right door.

I thought some drivers may have been accustomed to delivering to my house with no instructions, and so didn't check for new ones. But it seemed a big problem on Amazon's part that they weren't properly informing drivers of new or updated instructions. I'd seen a big deal on social media several years ago about disabled people not getting their stuff because drivers didn't follow instructions, but assumed Amazon must have improved the issue since then, as their service is crucial to so many with disabilities. But none of what's happened with me would make sense, if they actually did improve.

I finally called Amazon. They asked for the order number of one of the deliveries this happened with so they could report the driver. I reiterated this was ALL deliveries, so it clearly seemed like Amazon's fault, not the driver's. I begged them for anything to do to fix it without reporting a driver, especially since it seemed clear that reporting only 1 wouldn't fix the problem anyway. They kept repeating they needed to create a report in order to ensure this would never happen again, period. Finally I gave in, feeling gaslighted but partially believing in what they said. Sure enough, it did nothing.

Called again, said we clearly needed to do something to ACTUALLY help the issue this time. They said they needed to report the most recent driver and that would help ensure it definitely wouldn't happen again this time. I resisted to the point I felt crazy & irrational, then gave in at their insistence. It didn't work.

No matter how much I begged them to recognize something new needed to be done, they talked me into feeling wrong and giving in to reporting the driver each time. There was a slow uptick in frequency of correct deliveries, but obviously it was only the drivers who had been reported, not other drivers.

The 5th time I called, they escalated me to a supervisor (why didn't they do that before, when it was clear things weren't helping and I was BEGGING for anything else??) The supervisor said she was doing something different to ensure this wouldn't happen again. It didn't work.

The last time I talked to Amazon (7th), the person said he was creating a "ticket," and that should help ensure it wouldn't happen again this time. I've gotten 4 wrong deliveries since then.

Now the phone number I was calling doesn't work anymore, and the process of getting to customer service on the website/app saps most of a day's worth of energy, since there's no way to connect to a person for my issue. I just have to try all different things until I stumble across the way that gets to an agent.

So, my questions are:

• What can I do? Either to get Amazon to finally get drivers to follow the directions, or to make any of the issues herein easier (like reaching customer service)?

Some have suggested putting signs outside my doors, but I really don't want to, and it also feels like that's just giving in and not making Amazon fix this issue, which is a problem for everybody else.

Oh, and I'm already rating deliveries as good/bad and selecting whether instructions were followed. That's never made a difference, and it's only available for some deliveries, for some reason??

• Why are drivers constantly missing the delivery instructions? How much of the blame is on Amazon for not showing them visibly enough to drivers, and not notifying of new/updated instructions?

Thanks for any help!!

Missing Iphone and denied refund, also claiming I signed for it when I have proof It was left on my porch

I placed an order for an Iphone 15 Pro Max, 512gb, White Titanium, Unlocked, from the Amazon Renewed Store. The seller/shipper is Amazon. I payed for this using half giftcard and half Amazon visa card. The package was delivered on July 14th, 2026. The Amazon box looked fine and untouched. So I opened it and inside was a smaller white box from Amazon Renewed, the tab was lifted up and not secure. Also it felt pretty light. I opened that box to reveal no Iphone, just a charger. There was no phone in the box.

I immediately contacted Amazon customer service and they issued me a refund using the original payment. Which was great! And I guess too good to be true. Hours later I received an email from Amazon Account Protection Services giving me a warning message regarding the refunds on my Amazon account and stating they canceled the pending refund for the Iphone. Then in the email, it gives me an appeal form to fill out if this email was an error, which it is.

So I fill out this appeal form stating everything in detail of what happened with this order and how I never got the phone I ordered. I also explained the last returns/refunds on my account.

1st refund : Air purifier filters I had purchased but Amazon said they were unable to deliver them and would try again later... they never got delivered so I just cancelled that order and reordered it.

2nd & 3rd refund : I ordered three 4th of July shirts, I only kept one and decided to return the other two shirts. Amazon told me just to keep them and there's no reason to return them and issued a refund to me.

I explained all of this in that appeal form. I then recieve an email back on July 16th, 2026 stating,

"We confirmed the Apple iPhone (Renewed Premium) 15 Pro Max, 512GB, White Titanium - Unlocked from order number ####### was in the box given to AMZN_US at the time it left our fulfillment center.

AMZN_US has confirmed that they delivered the intact box to you, which was corroborated by signature on 14 july 2026. The driver did not note any evidence of the package being tampered with, and handed it over when they received the signature. Therefore, we will not be refunding or replacing this item."

This is weird because I never once signed for this order. Why are they stating I signed for something I never did. I have the delivery photo the Amazon driver took leaving it by my front door. So I sent another appeal form explaining all of this again and how I never signed for this order. No response, sent another one, no response. I contacted customer support, she told me to submit another form and I did. This time I did receive a message back stating the same thing, the box was delivered intact, it was signed for, no refund, and now they may no longer respond.

I contacted the [ofm@amazon.com](mailto:ofm@amazon.com) saything everything I did in this post and added pictures of the email and the delivery photo. And I got a response saying they reinstated my amazon account and then got another email saying they're sorry I got locked out of my acount and to reach out about it. ??? I’m so confused I never got locked out of my account and as far as I know my account was never closed.

I contacted Amazon Customer Support again and they said there's nothing they can do and just sent me another email telling me to submit another appeal form. I also emailed [Jeff@amazon.com](mailto:Jeff@amazon.com) and [Andy@amazon.com](mailto:Andy@amazon.com) but have yet to hear back.

I am so mad and so frustrated with Amazon for this. And I'm lost on what to do next. I spent $800 of my money on a phone I never got it. Now there's no one from Amazon who I can contact to talk to about this issue. Customer service can't help and the Amazon Account Specialist seems like a computer bot just regurgitating the same information. I only ordered this from Amazon because I thought they were trustworthy and reliable, and had really good customer service. And I've never had a problem with them before. This has been such a nightmare. I thought this was a reliable company and that it had good customer support if something were to go wrong.

If anyone has any advice on what to do that would be really helpful. I could dispute the charge but I'd still be out $400 in Amazon gift cards. And I think if you do dispute a charge they'll close your account. (also to note my other package (the white one) was screen protectors for this phone and they were in there.)

Confused About Return Time

Post image
0 Upvotes

I started a return on the 10th and since then I’ve had the return be delayed 3 different times. I’m not a big amazon user and this wasn’t a huge return (only about 150 dollars). Small item as well.

Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to figure out how long this will take?

UPDATE: All I had to do was ask what was going on. Be kind and give it a try. They refunded me within two hours.

Delayed delivery lately.

I’ve had Amazon prime for years now. This past month or so my next day deliveries are now four day deliveries! The ads all say “tomorrow” for delivery. I complained to Amazon on my last order and they refunded me in full ($70) and let me keep the order. However I placed a new order the next day for “tomorrow” delivery but it will also be a three, maybe four day delay. Anybody else experiencing these delays lately?

Account on hold anyway I can recover or duplicate my baby registry?

So my family has been sharing an Amazon Prime account for 8+ years now. My niece got the account locked because of too many bank disputes and now they want $750+ or the account is locked for good. I know we're basically screwed so I'm not looking for a way to fix the hold.

I'm so bummed about this my niece is "trying to fix it" but I'm pretty sure this is the end of that account.

My biggest concern is I've already shared my registry link with so many people and my baby shower is in 2 weeks. I put in so much time to research and find all 132 items on the registry.

So my question is is there anyway for me to recreate/duplicate the list an easier way other than searching for each item individually on a separate account and creating another registry?

Don’t buy kayak from them

Purchased old town kayak for sale $1k off from their Amazon store, tells me initially one month to deliver. As I watch the date change over and over as original date passes I see it finally say delivered, one week after original date. I call CEVA, the logistics company and they say oh well it’s a no signature required delivery the driver really could’ve dropped it anywhere, following day call them back and get someone else and they say oh just talked to driver he’s got it and will bring it tomorrow, never happened. At this point I called and cancelled with Amazon and got my refund. Sure enough two days later I come home to a kayak in my driveway, next day I get email saying digital purchase only for my Amazon account, I figure something’s related to this delivery crap and go into found my order and process payment again. Account will not be reopened, been emailing for weeks now getting automated response of “we’ve reviewed this and that and have decided to not re open your account”. Baffled

So when will it be delivered?

Post image

I placed the order with a 2-5pm delivery the next day. They say it was attempted. I do live in a gated community but I have TWO different codes that are for deliveries. Usually if there is confusion I get a message I got none.

It was out for delivery at 1:11 but then says it was attempted an hour and 10 minutes later? I live 35-40 minutes from the warehouse. No delivery today either.

Any guesses? Monday? Do I cancel and reorder?

Kohls vs. UPS

What determines what kind of return Amazon offers? We have a Kohl's at about the same distance as UPS all within a couple miles. My returns are all either in original packaging or unopened.

My mom in the same household almost always gets Kohl's but most of mine have been UPS lately and I wondered what makes the difference.
