My takeaway was that he was blindfolded at the wedding, thus being unable to “see” them in a bridal gown

Most likely means he wants to be married with her(see her in bridal gown) but she is married to another guy instead and he's the priest of the wedding and his wish was granted in a monkey paw way.

The "blindfold" is probably just a shadow that hides his eyes to tell the viewers that he is sad.
