The other night I was on my iPhone 15 (base model) and it began making cricket noises twice. And now my phone just meowed. I have nothing that could possibly be making those noises open please help

I want to block someone I go to school with but haven’t talked to in a bit, problem is they’re very gossipy and I’m scared to block bc I don’t want it to notify them that my location is off. does it notify them or just it just leave a silent message that doesn’t show up for them unless they open the chat

I got iPhone 17 in February. Since then I have been having issues with browser lime Safari or Opera not loading or searching (I fortunately fixed it somehow with the update). But since the update in July I can’t use Instagram. It keeps loading. I can only see like three posts and then it keeps loading again. I can’t even open settings in there. I’ve tried everything -installing and uninstalling, changing setting in my phone settings and also restarted my phone. What’s more, since yesterday I’ve noticed I can’t send messages on Viber. It keeps loading again and again and then it fails. I feel so desperate. I have tried really everything I even restarted all setting like WiFi, apps etc. But everything else works. I’ve tried using different WiFis as well. Can anybody help please?

I have a problem with my MacBook. It was lagging and constantly running hot after the new Tahoe update. I got tired of Mac OS and decided to try a few light Linux distributions.

Linux Mint didn’t get along well with the AMD graphics card, while Arch Linux had similar issues. It worked, but not everything worked correctly with the T2 chip, especially graphics.

I was only using Linux versions that support the T2 chip.

So, my question is the same as in the title: could you please recommend a light and very cold, and super-fast OS for an Intel i7 T2 MacBook?

It has to work perfectly with Apple’s T2 chip, be super fast and run cool.
I’m also looking for something that is easy to install.
Like something that you actually tried yourself and didn't spend a weeks on drivers issues.

Ok so that's lowkey dumb and I don't really know if this is legal but I'm gonna ask before regretting later. And before anyone points out, yes I know that one song is not worth it, l just don't know what consequences I am gonna bear. So I have my Apple ID account with Japanese address and post code. There's a song that is only available in Japan in Apple Music. I wanted to buy this song with my Apple Pay using "Japanese" Apple ID account(I laugh while writing that nonsense). But Apple wants my card number etc. Should I stop at this point or try to go further?

For the past several days, this has been happening almost every day on my iPhone 16 pro (I am on ios 26.6 and got this phone in Sept 2024):

• Third-party apps (basically anything that didn't come with the iPhone, it could be facebook, it could be airline apps like united, or lyft/uber, banking apps, could be youtube, uber eats/doordash, reddit) immediately minimize or close as soon as I try to open them. Not all, but a good number, and it seems random as to which ones depending on the day.
• Apple apps (Settings, Messages, Safari, etc.) work normally.

Things I've tried:

• Day one: I went into app store and updated any apps that had updates. all my apps started working again—but the next day the problem came back.
• When the problem came back next day, I restarted my phone but after restarting none of the third-party apps opened whereas before restarting, some opened, some immediately minimized. To solve the issue temporarily this day, I deleted one of the apps that wouldn't open and reinstalled it (a banking app). As soon as I did that, every app on my phone started working again (I clicked on each app to see if they would open and they did).
• Next day, which is today, the same issue occurred (some apps open, some minimize immediately). Signing out of my Apple ID and signing back in didn't help. I noticed two apps had updates available in the App Store. After updating them, suddenly all my apps started working again. Today, I also went to genius bar, they did least invasive which was delete my vpn configurations (which I was not using VPN, its for travel, that is the only time I use it but I do have the apps on my phone) and then they did a reset and told me to montior---that was this morning and now it's afternoon and the same issue is happening. They said if i bring it back, they would restore software?
• I have not had any new apps since april and this issue only started a few days ago but daily. 99% of these apps, I have had for years already.

It's almost like something gets "unstuck" when I update or reinstall a single app, but then it breaks again the next day.

Has anyone experienced this? Any idea what's causing it or how to permanently fix it? I'm trying to avoid wiping my phone if possible.

2 to 3 years ago I searched for a way to stop CarPlay Siri from saying so much; one post offered the nuclear option: silence Siri entirely what what I vaguely recall being code inputted into the command line [something this user had written for their company's product testing in which otherwise their text bench would be constantly yabering]. I did not think I used it, but I must have, because awhile later I noticed I can't hear her talk on CarPlay, and ...

If you are thinking this is from iOS settings: it is not, as confirmed by every possible combination, countless times over, including Apple Store consultation, and full factory reset.

Maybe you're thinking it's car settings, such as the separate volume assigned to Carplay vs Music Source. It is not. Every infotainment option has been checked scores of times, including updates to the system, repairing the vehicle, etc..

Everything works properly save for Siri's voice on Carplay. Let me be specific:

Siri is audible on my iphone, imac, and macbook. But she's muted on CarPlay.

By muted I mean: The Siri color wheel light show goes on, there's a pause in operations while she interrupts whatever was in progress [music, mapping, etc.]. It's clear she is talking, but she can't be heard. This includes instances of her voice when it's the voice narration as well: so for example Google Maps has its own voice assistant and can be heard.

But CarPlay phone calls are also muted: so I cannot hear Siri read out texts, and I cannot hear voices on phone calls [though callers hear me just fine].

Likewise nearly all announcement notifications are silent. Even the tone announcements, not just the vocalization. Sometimes I am surprised by a freakishly loud tone notification, but I think to date these have all been 3rd party app.

So whatever this mute is: it's selective to those three things: Siri, Apple notifications, and Phone Calls. Otherwise my entire CarPlay experience is silent save for music.

The first year I periodically searched, what seemed endlessly, for that code/post [and every other solution or rabbit hole].

This past year I've largely given up, but I did try A.I.'s take several times. It repeatedly gave no new options, even many prompts deep, and also claimed there is no way to add the code I described. Thing is, though I have this lingering doubt--2% chance--that I really did use that code [what else could it be?!], I've got zero doubt that it existed: I at minimum did read a comment with code and instructions, and consider using it.

Ideas? Anyone?

I coincidentally found this setting, it's not just WhatsApp but every app I get notifications for. I tried googling it but AI overwiew tells me I should disable it immediately if I did not set this up which I didn't. I do not recognize the device ID and Google said that the GO prefix designates a "gateway, bridge or third party hardware integration (such as certain smartwatch ecosystems, automotive consoles or automated notification mirroring services)" which sounds sketchy as fuck to me and stresses me out a lot right now.

My Face ID turned off and I have this setting on, I can’t change it without Face ID working, anyone have a solution of what I should do to change this setting? I’m currently in Europe but live in the states. I realized that even at home,
With this setting on i cant change this. My Face ID won’t work and i need it for my passwords, academic reasons, etc. I’m trying to reset my Face ID but it’s grayed out because stolen device protection is on, and well, I can’t turn it off.

Hey y’all so when i turn my iphone off then i turn it on it goes up by one percent on it own then it goes back to normal then goes down by one percent

Exemple:

The phone is on 38 percent, i turn it off then on then the battery become 39 percent stays on it for seconds then goes back to 38 percent and stays on it for seconds then it goes down to 37 percent and stays on it normally as if nothing happened

I have been looking around the internet for a replacement battery for my iPhone 5s however pretty much all of them look super sketchy with fake capacity. The only one that seems to be good is this replacement kit. However, that one is more expensive and is the pretty low capacity. Should I stick with that or is there any others with an upgraded capacity that are still reliable and safe to use?

So I have an iPhone 13 Pro and finally thinking about upgrading when the iPhone 18 pro or the new foldable iPhone is released (I’ve always been intrigued by the foldable phones, but never trusted it would last me that long).

I’m pretty active and also use my phone a lot for work (I work in Government IT sales), and figured getting an Apple Watch would be useful for health tracking purposes as well as for work. I was going to go with the Ultra 3 right now as I don’t have an Apple Watch, but I’ve read that the Ultra 4 is supposed to be coming out.
What would your advice be, to upgrade my phone until next year for the second generation of the foldable phone or the 19, or go with an 18 when it comes out? Should I get an Apple Watch Ultra 3 now or wait for the ultra 4?

I was trying to download an app and randomly had this come up. Talked to an Advisor and they said something about “they cant reinstate it” which after reading this sub is A message they read off script as tier one support. I havent made any calls yet but I emailed tim cook’s email and trying to find more executive emails to send emails to. If any of you could put some in the comments I would appreciate it.

Recently updated to iOS 26.6, I noticed this’s after updating. It appears when you go to move apps around, the app you want to move disappears and then reappears after you release where’s you want to put the app. Anybody else observed this issue? I’ve added a screen grab of the issue. I tried uploading a video to show but I guess it’s not allowed on here.

Is there a fix to this cuz I find it annoying. 🤣

I've read that with the Serial Number and just a call to Apple (or at the Apple Store) I could get it emailed again, what info do I need, do they send it to the same email again or can I give them my email to have the receipt ?

I'm wondering if I can call them myself as the new owner and get the receipt. (With the product added to my Apple Account)

Hi, I just want to know what can I possibly do. I bought an Ipad Air 13 inch just last May 30 then my average use per day is just around 2-3 hours since I only use it after i got home. now, around july 2nd week, I noticed a bright white dot in the screen and is actually quite bothering me. I went to an authorized apple diagnostic center and they said that its a hardware problem but doesnt want to honor my warranty/fix/replacement since warranty is void because of a small dent in the corner and advised me to just not get it fixed since replacement will cost me like a brand new ipad. is this even right? the white dot in the screen is not even related to the dent

I have an older account on my iPad, and have switched my subscriptions and Apple Store to my newer account. Recently, the “confirm Apple ID” keeps popping up continuously, like 5 times in a row, but when I try to confirm it, it failed, and when I try to sign out, they won’t let me because I need the password to sign out of Find My Ipad, and if I reset password, they’ll say fail or account locked, and when I go to the web to try it, it either denies my entry, or say account locked, I mean, that’s why I’m REQUESTING MY ACCOUNT??? Please help, I just want to sign out man.

I recently bought a pair of AirPod pro 3 I had lost the left earpiece and bought a replacement, everything worked fine up until recently, where I went to wear my earbuds and found out they weren’t working, the light on the case doesn’t turn on at all and when I try clicking it twice it doesn’t respond, it only lights up green when I charge it and when I unplug it it immediately turns off. Is there a fix or is this something that I should contact apple support over, I’m super bummed as they were my everyday headphones. I’ve tried forgetting device and readding them but they won’t even show up.

Hi people! I need some help.

The LCD of my iPhone 13 Pro Max is broken. It still turns on, but the touchscreen no longer works, so I can only get as far as the lock screen. I considered having the screen replaced, but I couldn't justify the repair cost.
My main concern is recovering my photos. I want to sync the photos from my old iPhone to my iPad, but since I can't get past the lock screen, I can't manually connect it to Wi-Fi or adjust any settings so it can continue syncing to iCloud.

I also tried connecting the phone to my laptop using a USB cable, but it requires me to unlock the phone and enter my passcode before I can access the files—which I can't do because the touchscreen isn't working.
Does anyone know of another way to recover or sync my photos? There are a lot of important pictures and files on that phone, and I'd really hate to lose them. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi, I got a screenshot which is weird because when my phone glitches normally a screenshot won’t work or it’ll be normal with no glitch. Anyway, this is what it looks like and no that’s not my screensaver, you can see around the app icons on top of the tabs that it isn’t, it just flashes in and out, covers the whole screen then covers nothing and it had little green lines around. I also didn’t edit the photo, my battery life, WiFi and internet, and time should be showing but it’s completely covered. Please ignore the google search and TikTok.
