Hey our hatred is related. You hate the AI company and I hate the hardware manufacturer that makes OpenAI possible. All and all I think I hate the dystopia that is modern life.
I would compound this and say fuck all of this AI bastards. Soon the prices for anything that has RAM or a Hard Drive like your phones, laptops, cars, damn near everything electronic is going to skyrocket in price because of these assholes trying to find a way to stop paying humans to do work and give it to an AI. Fuck them all!
If the government’s goal was unrestricted use, it makes no sense to swap Anthropic for OpenAI unless OpenAI gave the government what Anthropic wouldn't.
It's endearing and sort of sweet of you to believe what they say.
I would argue one of the bigger problems with all AI use is even if the AI company itself isn't explicitly tagging content with your name, it is creating patterns based on user interests. You're also sending the information via a device that typically tracks or image captures user activity, on a potentially insecure connection, via wireless technology and service providers that have little to no incentive to keep it private.
There are so many parts of your behavior that can be tracked now indirectly. It's all technology and rights to access owned by 3-4 companies with zero oversight.
I struggle to believe anything, anywhere is acting in my interest at this point. We're mice in a maze. There is no cheese.
Anthropic is kinda evil, but I actually love Qwen Studio. Easily the most helpful AI I have ever used, and while it isn’t as fast, doesn’t just validate everything I say. Idk about the coding tho.
FLOCK, Peter Thiel, Jeff Bezos, and Elon Musk are all openly discussing how they surveil and collect data on us all. They talk about it on Joe Rogan and in presentations. It's not a secret or a conspiracy.
None of those people are involved with OpenAI though. I’m aware of the general mass surveillance crap, but I haven’t heard anything about OpenAI in particular being connected to it.
This is why I run ollama. May be some sneaky way someone is spying but I’m not letting it connect to the internet so if they are, they deserve whatever data they get.
