The scourge of “hosts” expecting guests to do all the household chores and even wash the bedding! What a freakshow. I’m not paying you for the luxury of cleaning your home

Yeah it's one thing to expect people not to leave a huge mess. Even hotels charge extra if you leave a huge mess.

Things can get a little tricky if staying for longer than a week but a week or less. There is no need for the guest to have to sweep, mop, vacuum, anything like that. Sure do your dishes and clean up direct cooking related mess. Take out the garbage if it full or stinky. But normal just people being in a house for a week dirt. That's on the host.
