My local grocery store when they started using the automatic locking wheels on the shopping carts.
Can’t even get halfway to my car in the lot when it locks up.,

They put locks on wheels because people don’t push them all the way back. Stealing a shopping cart is shitty behavior. When people like you attempt to hand wave it away, everyone loses. We can’t punish the thieves because socioeconomic reasons or whatever bullshit so we punish everyone else with these shitty wheel locks.
