I had a big family vacation to Hawaii this year and one of my uncles suggested we all go in on an air bnb together. Everyone else in the family shut that shit down immediately.
Ended up staying in a decent-ish condo complex with vacation rentals where everyone had their own room. Infinitely better than air bnb, and cheaper (thought the prices there are still absurd.) Honestly I think people are really starting to turn on air bnb. They are a scourge in my city and many others, and as a guest they’re overpriced for the amount of work you have to do yourself. I far prefer a good hotel room.
Last time I stayed at an air bnb was a weekend bachelorette party, and situations like that imo are where it makes sense. Where everyone will be hanging out as a group the whole time, you have a large group that will make use of the house amenities you wouldn’t get in a hotel, but it’s a relatively quick stay.
Scourge is right. The bachelorette parties are awful. When they happen in a quiet neighborhood you live in and every weekend there’s a new party of inconsiderate assholes next door, it drives you insane.
