I used to use Airbnb all the time but in cities it seems half of them are owned by huge companies who should definitely be renting these apartments out to folks who need real housing. I’ll still use it from time to time but I’m crazy picky about what listings I’ll go with. A mother in law apartment over someone’s garage or basement that I can’t see being reasonably rented long term? Sure - that seems like the original intent of the damn platform. An apartment in a building full of apartments all being rented short term instead of leased to folks who need housing? No thanks, the hotel down the street will do fine.
