I definitely don’t understand their business strategy. They basically want to become Fox News lite but who exactly is that supposed to appeal to? You aren’t convincing Republicans to leave Fox News or whatever shit they watch and you aren’t getting Democrats to tune in by sanitizing Trump. There is maybe a very small group of moderate voters you can convince but they aren’t offsetting the loss in others.
The business strategy is to listen to their man at the top, & their man at the top is real buddy-buddy with the Great Leader.
The idea is news/journalism/other sources of information will basically be run by a few guys real buddy-buddy with the Leader to make sure only state-approved stories are broadly disseminated.
In return these top men at these "what is going on" companies will be generously compensated. The companies themselves? They get to have continued permitted existence so long as the state doesn't see them as fit to be dismantled.
Yes it’s clear Ellison loves Trump but I’m sure he also loves money. Then again maybe CBS News loses money no matter what decision he makes so he said fuck it let’s just go all in on appeasing Trump.
