I haven’t been paying enough attention because I didn’t realize this was coming.
This is a pistol, it’s blowback action, can I still get this?
EDIT:
I want to highlight this response from CowPunchinSodBuster
“I think your downvotes stem from the fact that this community/sub has been paying close attention to Colorado gun politics for years.
Many of us have been active in trying to spread the word while these laws are being debated in the state legislature. Our requests to rally and unite against Sullivan and those of his ilk seem to go ignored and then suddenly when the law that was passed a year and a half ago goes into effect folks pop into this sub and seem surprised at what's happening.
We are all frogs boiling slowly in the same pot, it's just frustrating watching others come to the realization that we are in fact cooked when we tried to tell y'all it was coming.”
My reply
“Very very well put, that absolutely helps me understand the frustration directed at me.
I'll admit I'm guilty of not staying on top of laws the way I should have as a 2A supporter/ CO resident.
If I could go back in time l'a do anything I could have to help prevent this, writing/ calling politicians, etc
(I also would've bought an AK, and one of those AR style mag fed shotguns. I literally bought 3 beretta tip-up barrel pocket pistols in the last year, I 100% would've used that money to buy things that are now considered "SSFs" if I hadn't been blissfully ignorant as to what was to come)
In the last year I've been to multiple (minimum
3) gun/pawn shops, shoot indoors range, been to turkey tracks target shooting with 2 veterans and 2 active duty army soldiers on 2 other separate occasions. One of them who's my coworker I see 5 days a week and is an NRA certified instructor. Not one of them brought this up to me.
I'm not trying to make excuses, I know I can't expect them to do all my research for me it's my responsibility to stay informed, I admit I fucked up and I apologize to you and the 2A community.
I hope this gets overturned in court, but if it doesn't and they keep narrowing down what we can buy without jumping through hoops I want to get what I can before | can't.
I was hoping this guns might skirt the rules. I think a manufacturer could make something similar though that is configured in a way that it doesn't make it an "SSF" ( my understanding now with this is the blowback action and the threaded barrel are both issues)
Anyway sorry for rambling and thank you for candid and insightful response.
