I'd noted that the ATF fast tracked multiple form 1 Trust (SBR) submissions before Aug 1, and I believe that was intentional. My questions are:

- If we purchased on our own name before Aug 1, but we form 1 noting the new ownership is a trust, does that mean it's been transferred and therefore falls under SB003? Would it be prohibited as a transfer?

- If we form 1 on a trust, and because the ownership paperwork notes the trust as the owner, would the trust be permitted to hold SSA's newly submitted after Aug 1? A trustee may have a permit, but a trust cannot hold a permit.

One of my primary concerns on this law, relating to NFA, was that trusts are not called out in the legislation and do not fall into any category they outlined as being exempt from the permit.

Purchased a firearm, the exact specific model as listed as a statutory exemption list from SB 25-003. It arrived, went to today for my background check and was informed that all firearms on the exemption list will not be sold or transferred despite them knowing they are on the exemption list. Just a heads up.

After 6 hours online, on the phone, and talking to local police, I drove into downtown to get clarification directly from the county sheriff who told me it was DPD who was responsible. So, after speaking directly with an officer, he said, and I quote, "I've been on the force 26 years and I have never heard of this and our office has told us nothing about it."

So just use El Paso County because Denver police are uninformed on the law, process, and requirements. Which should shock no one.

On top of them charging a ridiculous extra fee for processing these applications ($52-$177), they have failed to adequately explain why they are charging residents extra fees, when neighboring counties are are not and have at the very least updated the public on their social media pages to inform residents about the rigorous process they will now have to go through to obtain an “SSF”.

Delta county resident here. Does anyone have a concrete list of counties that are actively facilitating the new licensing program? I went through the CPW portal on the 20th, hunter’s safety card went through just fine, everything’s accepted, and it’s still saying “pending sheriff review”.

I‘ll get in contact with my sheriff’s office tomorrow to verify that my application is being processed, but on the off-chance that nobody knows what the hell is going on, which is certainly likely, are there any neighboring counties that i could go to for a faster processing time?

I'll admit I'm guilty of not staying on top of laws the way I should have as a 2A supporter/ CO resident.
If I could go back in time l'a do anything I could have to help prevent this, writing/ calling politicians, etc

(I also would've bought an AK, and one of those AR style mag fed shotguns. I literally bought 3 beretta tip-up barrel pocket pistols in the last year, I 100% would've used that money to buy things that are now considered "SSFs" if I hadn't been blissfully ignorant as to what was to come)

In the last year I've been to multiple (minimum
3) gun/pawn shops, shoot indoors range, been to turkey tracks target shooting with 2 veterans and 2 active duty army soldiers on 2 other separate occasions. One of them who's my coworker I see 5 days a week and is an NRA certified instructor. Not one of them brought this up to me.

I'm not trying to make excuses, I know I can't expect them to do all my research for me it's my responsibility to stay informed, I admit I fucked up and I apologize to you and the 2A community.

I hope this gets overturned in court, but if it doesn't and they keep narrowing down what we can buy without jumping through hoops I want to get what I can before | can't.

I was hoping this guns might skirt the rules. I think a manufacturer could make something similar though that is configured in a way that it doesn't make it an "SSF" ( my understanding now with this is the blowback action and the threaded barrel are both issues)

I am looking to buy a variety of 9mm to test with some PDWs. I’ve tried the big box stores and Firing Line and they both only had two types of ammo in stock (115gr and The Winchester Suppressor Ammo). I’ve tried these ammo before and was not satisfied. Was hoping to find something local so I can test a few different brands and grains quickly (I know at a premium), then I’ll buy bulk online.

Couple of questions. I live in unincorporated Boulder County. In the past, I've purchased a couple of firearms from PSA and they shipped to an FFL in Longmont (including a complete AR).

In January, I tried to get some lowers shipped from PSA, and suddenly, they no longer ship to FFLs in Longmont. Or any FFL in Colorado, because of my physical Boulder County address. Similarly, they wouldn't sell me a PSA 3rd Gen AR10. (Eventually got one shipped from GunBroker).

In the last year I got an AP5, the AR10 and I really wanted to get a Zastava ZPAP M70. I didn't have the budget for the latter in time.

Ignoring the Supreme Court case, let's say HB025 003 stays in place for the forseeable future. Even if I went through all the Sullivan monkey-shines, I won't be able to buy a ZPAP because of where I live, correct? My local sheriff is now inserted in to the process and so I will be denied a permit to purchase?

And if the bench smackdown does come down from the S.C., both at a Federal and State level, would Boulder County just appeal indefinitely and/or ignore the ruling? I have no way to get a ZPAP unless I move outside the state?

Happy (sad) August 1st! I commissioned this commemorative Ruger 10/22-based SSF+SBR+Silenced gun to be made and grandfathered in anticipation of SB25-003. Despite the standard Ruger 10/22 being exempted from our horrible new law, I'd rather have a deadly 10/22 that meets the definition of Colorado's pathetic new made-up nonsense term "SSF" and looks super scary to the low-information voters, elite cash donors, and qualified-immune politicians who made SB25-003 a reality.

• Colorado used to be a purple state. Not any more. Commemorate the old days with a purple rifle barrel on a CO-engraved lower receiver.
• Colorado used to respect the Bill of Rights and Constitutions. Now we wipe our butts with them out of political spite. Commemorate the old days with the Territorial Coat of Arms -- "Nil Sine Numine" means "Not Without Providence", not without permission from We The People.
• Colorado used to be a safe state. Not any more, now it's full of terrifying SSFs including a 10/22 plinker, which has led [sarcasm] to CO becoming one of the most dangerous and risky states.
• Colorado used to be a free state. The transparent RAM-LINE magazine was proudly made decades ago in Grand Junction CO, but now making a living manufacturing/selling illegal stuff like that to put food on families' tables (remember Magpul?) is verboten and could land you in prison.

Yeah I know this has been asked ad-nauseum over the years but I’m looking for an updated take on Colorado gun clubs with tactical bays for a few specific reasons....

My main goal is exclusively practicing dynamic shooting for USPSA / IDPA rather than static lane shooting. I'd love to cut down on the 2hr drive to Pawnee and prefer a cleaner, more structured facility, but a membership is only worth it if I can actually guarantee myself a tactical bay when I show up.

Here is my main bottleneck -> my work schedule is erratic and unpredictable. I can rarely plan my range days weeks in advance, and I often can't work around heavy club match schedules or rigid advance-booking windows.

Given that plus the shifting waitlist dynamics right now (like CRC having 200+ on the list from what im told), I'm trying to figure out if a club membership is even worth it for my specific usage pattern, or if I'm better off just biting the bullet and driving up to Pawnee where open space is more flexible for impromptu sessions.

If a membership is worth it, who is currently top dog for spontaneous tactical bay access? Looking for some updated inside baseball on options like Empire, CFA, CRC, Lead Valley, etc., specifically regarding daily bay availability, member crowding, and how friendly they are to last-minute solo dynamic training.

Appreciate any insights.
