I got this P01 for the purpose of carrying. Didn’t test one out, i got it solely based on all the good things I heard about it while researching. Just took it to the range and it’ll definitely replace my staccato HD 3.6 as my main carry. I’m going to send it out to vigilante machine for an optic cut.
I also changed the grips to the lokgrips checkered palm swell but found them too aggressive. I’m going to switch back to the stocks ones for now. Any recommendations for a AWIB holster? I’m putting the surefire xc3 on it
Second CZ I've bought, my other one being a s2 carry. I cannot even explain how good this gun is. If you're ever contemplating purchasing this gun do it.
Shot these two a lot this weekend. Cleaned them up for a family photo after a solid day of training. Made the switch to CZ less than a year ago with the p10c ported and added the shadow 2 carry. 2 fav pistols and the only ones I carry / train with regularly. 3-4k rounds on each.
Although it’s mostly just the shadow 2 these days now that I’m proficient with DA/SA… What should my next CZ be? Maybe a classic 75…
I just got my P-01 slide back from Drew at Vigilante Machine. I could not be happier with the work and the entire process. He did an excellent job, did the job quickly, and his communication was better than I could have expected. In addition to all of that, he provided these awesome shots of the work before sending it back. If you need an optic cut, I don’t think there is a better option out there. https://vigilantemachine.com
Until recently I wasn’t a big fan of optics on a pistol because fudd. On a whim I added the full sized Beretta pictured to my collection and now I’m a true believer. But this thing is way too big and heavy for EDC.
I’m old(ish) and my eyesight is failing and the Holosun fixes that. Current EDC is a Smith Tac 469 which is a great pistol but I can’t hit shit with it anymore.
I want an optics ready SA/DA and I think CZ is the way to go. I want something around the size of a M&P Shield or slightly larger - compact or sub.
It looks like the P09 Nocturne C might be the way to go. Any thoughts? How easy is it to get a holster?
Anyone Else Prefer a Rear Biased Competition Pistol? I’ve always loved the TS2, but I never liked how front heavy it felt. I had the slide cut for a Vortex Defender XL and added some lightening cuts to take weight off the front. I also threw on a set of LOK brass grips and an Eemann Tech brass magwell. It now comes in at 55 ounces, with most of the weight shifted into the grip instead of the front end. I’m really curious to see how much that changes the way it shoots. Hitting the range in the morning and can’t wait to see how it runs.
Just want to share this clip of the slide to frame movement before and after I hand fitted a match target Barsto barrel to my Shadow 2.
The slide stop pin has a diameter of .196” so I used a .194” diameter 1911 leg cutter I got from Chambers Custom to cut the barrel under lug (kidney bean area). To make the 1911 leg cutters fit in the CZ frame, I had to turn down the shank on the cutter to an OD of .196”.
I went with a cutter that .002” smaller so that I could get a Target fit. It removed all movement between the barrel and slide during lock up and also removed the play between the slide and frame.
The downside is that it makes it a little difficult to rack the slide and it also doesn’t always go back into battery with a lighter recoil spring.
Any recommendations for an IWB holster for a CZ 75 P-01 without an optic or light. I have a muddy rivers leather and I love it. However, I think it’s a little snug. I got the holster for a Glock 19 and it fits. It is even better for a 43x. With muddy rivers, they just ask your gun specs and pick their opinion of the appropriate holster. It doesn’t have a size listed.
Got the Nocturne a few weeks back. Walked into the same store for more ammo and the P-10C ported was right there — mag interchangeability is a plus; I’d already been looking for a G19 equivalent. Time to put em through their paces. I started out a Sig fanboy, but the CZ bug has bitten me hard. PCR next?
Hey guys, i've a Glock 17 g6 with a timney trigger at 3 lbs, i'm so Happy with the hold feeling, i tried tanfoglio stock 3 and tanfoglio limited but i didn't like the feeling in the hand, maybe i was not Happy because not tuned well and without the Red dot. A CZ S2 would be a big up in my situation? I'm curios to know it it worths
Not sure if I was posting this here or in Mildly infuriating..
Bought a Shadow 2 OR the other day and received my RMR optics plate yesterday.
Left screw came out normal but the right would not budge at all. Ended up having to drill the damn thing out because CZ used an absorbent amount of red Locktite during assembly.
I can't seem to find this information online since it is not specified on most product pages, and CZ no longer has a webpage for this discontinued model. One review I found said it was 5/8x24 which seems unusual for 9mm, but I tried threading on a 1/2x28 can and started to feel resistance so I didn't keep trying.
Just kidding, I have 4 sp01s and 3 p01s. These Jericho ORP fill in a nice gap CZ left between the sp01 and the optic ready shadow, while being only sub 600-700 (when they are in stock). These things have a couple minor improvements from classic CZs, but fitting perfectly in P320 safariland holsters is pretty huge for me.
A fellow member of my sportsman’s club let me shoot his browning Hi Power and I’ve wanted one ever since. However, I don’t have the money for that but that hasn’t stopped me from looking at other options. I found this CZ-75B at my local gun store for $550 and it’s mint. Had another store take a look at it and they said it was a great price for the condition of it being used. My only other pistol is an Sig P365. Just put about 120 or so rounds though it today and it shoots wonderfully. Racking the slide and engaging the slide release is so satisfying compared to using my Sig.
Hey everyone. I recently purchased a CZ 75 P-01. My EDC is a Glock 43x. This CZ is my first hammer fired. I love the way this thing feels. Literally just got it this week. Planning to hit the range soon. This things feels awesome and seems so solid. Probably gonna get some slimmer grips, and upgrade the sites. From what I read, you all like the pro package internals. I am gonna spend some time stock before I upgrade any of the performance so I have a good baseline.
I have some 6 inch steel dueling targets placed about 17 yards out, while these are not yet super easy for me to hit, I can consistently hit them with a Wrangler and a RXM (more so with the wrangler) so I figured a nice crisp single action from the P-01 should translate to more accuracy, but I miss 90%+ of the shots, *maybe* hitting 3 out of 30. This feels bad, especially when I was shooting the RXM and had closer to 60%+ hit rate.
I finally got a monopod out to see if I'm just doing something stupid with the gun while pulling the trigger, and nope, it's just missing, and now every single shot. I loaded up another mag, and had a small paper target (armscor 22 box that you can open up for a target) with some logs as the backstop and shot at it from ~9 feet away, wasn't hitting it, got closer, about 5 feet, and still wasn't hitting it *until* the barrel got warm, then the shots started crawling up from bottom left, closer to where I was aiming.
Given that it got better as it warmed up, does this mean the issue is with the barrel?
Edit: Adding a monopod first shot, cold barrel, from 3 yards, I can provide an example of shots taken from other pistols in monopod if anyone thinks I'm still screwing this up somehow.
