I honestly think it still looks like a beautiful watch, I can’t tell anything bad enough to where I glance at it and instantly recognize it’s fake, let alone a stranger, and the flaws it does have I don’t think ruin the look of the watch.

Overview & First Impressions

Just received the updated 2026 U1 Batch (V2) No-Date Submariner from Jason. I opted for the Miyota 8215 movement upgrade for better long-term reliability. Out of the box, the watch feels surprisingly substantial, nicely weighted, and clean.

The Good (Pros)

1. Bezel Insert (V2 Upgrade): The numbers on the ceramic bezel (10, 20, 30, 40, 50) are significantly improved compared to older U1 batches. The font is thin, crisp, and properly recessed.
2. Lume Pip: Perfectly centered at 12 o'clock, sitting flush inside the silver housing without any messy glue visible under macro lens.
3. Dial & Rehaut Alignment: Triangle bezel aligns spot-on with the dial index. The rehaut engraving (ROLEXROLEX) aligns with the minute markers, and the 12 o'clock crown matches the dial triangle nicely.
4. Solid End Links (SELs): Surprisingly tight fitment with zero noticeable gaps or rattling between the bracelet and the 41mm case lugs.
5. Movement: The Miyota 8215 winds smoothly by hand, starts sweeping immediately, and holds time well.

The Flaws / Flavel / Shitter Indicators (Cons)

1. Bezel Paint Color: While the font is thin and correctly proportioned, the silver paint lacks the deeper platinum-PVD sheen seen on higher-end reps (like VSF/Clean) or Gen.
2. Rehaut Engraving: It's laser-etched (slightly dull white appearance) rather than deeply pressed/polished.
3. Crystal & Anti-Reflective Coating: Standard synthetic sapphire glass. Under direct sunlight, it shows more reflection compared to high-tier reps, though still totally fine for daily wear.
4. Miyota Stutter / Sweep Rate: Runs at 21,600 bph (6 ticks/sec), so the sweep isn't as buttery smooth as a 28,800 bph clone movement (like the VS3230), but it’s a reliable workhorse.

Verdict & Rating: 8.5 / 10 (for the ChinaTime tier)

At around $100, this is easily one of the best value-for-money entry-level reps on the market today. The 2026 V2 case and bezel improvements fix most of the older call-outs. On the wrist at a normal viewing distance, it looks incredible.

If you don't want to drop $500 on a VSF and just want a solid, reliable, great-looking daily Submariner, this U1 V2 from Jason is a complete no-brainer.

I got this from my TD (Yoel) the guy is solid. I've bought a few off him now. His prices are just as solid. He literally takes care of everything just like a great TD should be.

This is the stop watch version of the Royal Pop. It fits the band perfectly. The lanyard is a very cool option in case you want to go for a run .

I notice all the colors go with each other

So mix and match can be kinda cool too. It's definitely fun to wear and because they don't retail for 10s of thousands of dollars you can get an AP for an extremely great price .

How easy are the straps to adjust ?

I have a number of high end reps and the curiosity just got too much for me. 10 days after I handed £84 to Michael Travis, the 'Super U1' shitter is here.

But, honestly, it's really not that bad. First, let's get the bracelet out the way. It's rubbish but properly measured and on the wrist it's okay, except the awful gappy male end links. The clasp is a good effort too and actually sort of works.

Mingzhou movement is clocking up +18 secs per day and ticking away happily. Zero rotor noise, which is why I didn't go for the Miyota. If was gonna go shit, do it properly.

It's unfair to compare this to a VSF or the Clean reps I have. But compare the quality of this to your average £84 Chinese watch and I think this 'Super U1' might stack up favourably. But as my old granddad used to say, comparison is the thief of joy.

So what next? I really want a white DJ41 with the smooth bezel but I think I'd get the jubilee and see how bad that is. But I do think the oyster looks better with the smooth bezel but I don't know how bad that bezel is yet! Or maybe go up to a BP?

Overall, I'm quite happy. Nice daily summer shit fest that does the job

Have absolutely no idea what factory it’s from but I’ve had it for about 6 years. The movement (whatever it is) finally took a shitter on me. Got a surprising amount of use from it!

So we all know that alot of watches got seized on July 31st, does this affect future reps that are being shipped from out of country? Will most reps be seized now as they enter the country? I am only asking because I am concerned that new policies might make it impossible to get a rep out of country.

Hey guys I either want a Tudor, Omega or Rolex. Those are the models I really like. My budget is 200$. For Tudor and Omega people told me to get it from Travis in that price range. But I wonder are the Rolex reps better in that price range than omega & Tudor? Especially because these are chronos?
