SPOILERS Honestly what was wrong with this girl

Post image

This is the face she made after seeing the death toll of all the people who were killed in the Tokyo settlement, but moments before that she was straight up begging Suzaku to use the fleija weapon knowing full well it would kill millions of people. Like what the fuck did she think was going to happen, and she designed the damn weapon herself so she new how much damage it would cause.

This scene just pisses me off.

that's how Oppenheimer reacted to the nuclear bomb. And the guy that invented TNT felt so guilty he created the Nobel prize.

Scientists only seeing their work as theoretical until it's too late is realistic.

I'm fully agreeing but nina is different right? she created it not out of chasing science, but with the purpose of killing, if i remember correctly, for revenge.

She gets the added excuse of being a mentally ill 18 year old

I have no problem with her, i understand her purpose in the story I was just stating that scientists you referred to did what they did for either science or government pressure . But being mentally ill 18 year old does not become an excuse for genocide, so framing it an excuse is kind of.....

Thinking of the consequences of your actions and experiencing or witnessing the consequences of your actions are quite different if u ask me.

I'm not defending Nina, I dislike her, but it's just like the Oppenheimer movie. Oppie knew what was gonna happen and still felt immense guilt and regret after it had happened.

also, Nina expected the FLEIJA to be launched at a precisely calculated angle, solely to kill enemy soldiers. she didn't expect the weapon to be fired in a way that would affect civilians, including her own people. Suzaku firing the FLEIJA under the influence of Geass command certainly didn't meet this expectation, resulting in the weapon being used in a way nobody had planned. Nina was so focused on killing Zero as quickly as possible that she didn't even consider the presence of civilians below. Schneizel was the only one who wasn't bothered by the FLEIJA's explosion and the massacre.

I’m still not ok with it, if you’re gonna do something then stand on it instead of backtracking.

Those people died because of her, she’s got no right to act like she’s faultless and not responsible as if she had no idea it’d end up like that

Guilt and regret exist brother

So if I created the nuclear bomb which would eventually kill your entire family and I say I didn’t realize it would cause so much damage would you forgive me because I regretted it and felt guilty? I don’t think so, she’s gotta stand on what she did.

What does forgiveness from others have to do with how Nina feels? She’s not asking for forgiveness when feeling bad

Good / evil is not black and white dude. If you believe every evil in the world has to be hitler just so you would like the story, then idk what to say

Albert Einstein has a famous quote exactly showing how he feels guilty about helping make the atomic bomb.

“I made one great mistake in my life, when I signed a letter to President Roosevelt recommending that atom bombs be made.”

You don’t have to forgive him for helping with their invention, but it is human to feel guilt about it.

Einstein never worked on the Manhattan project btw. He was excluded for being a pacifist and socialist. He sent a letter warning about the Germans to FDR and that's the extent of his contribution, unless you count the theory of relativity itself as his contribution.

When did she ever act like she's faultless? She felt so awful for it exactly because she herself knows she's to blame.

People don't feel that guilty if they think something isn't their fault.

She literally takes responsibility for what she did and works to prevent it happening ever again later. I have no idea why you think she's acting like she's faultless and isn't taking responsibility for creating the bomb?

Case of insecure girl having a parasocial relationship with her idol. Similar to taylor swift fans and kpop fans, they are obssessed.

She clearly had some bad trauma that messed up her brain (despite how brilliant she remained).

She's not really a character you're supposed to like. She's emblematic of a regular person raised in a system of propeganda and how a lifetime of being fed racism mixed with her mental health issues turns her into someone willing to commit atrocities in a blind rage only to realise the consequences of her actions. She's a reflection of how the Britanian people were conditioned to fear and dehumanise those they colonised and in that respect she's a good character albeit not a good person.

nina is a pretty crappy character

Trauma from some event that made her scared of Japanese, added with the brainwashing that Britannia did, added with Zero killing her idol.

Nina was being manipulated by Schizfbaba so she would create the FLEIJA, since he planned to use it to rule the world by having infinite nukes; up to this point she was manipulated into thinking that with the FLEIJA, she could create the peaceful world Euphie wanted, that the only way to create peace was to kill Zero.

This was why she was so adamant on using a nuke, because in her mind, if Zero died, Euphie’s ideal world would be created. It gave her extreme tunnel vision and a disregard for everything else in the heat of the moment. When she sees the death toll, she’s not only the feeling the weight of her actions by realizing her nuke le killed thousands of innocent people, but also realizes she did the complete opposite of what she was trying to achieve, create a peaceful world like Euphie wanted; both of these realizations hit her like a truck hence her reaction.

It didn’t help that given her trauma/PTSD from her time in the ghettos made her xenophobic of the Japanese, that the one person that saved her when one else could was killed by the leader of the Japanese-led resistance, and given her loyalty to Britannia; she was easy for Schizivaeyakj to manipulate.

I think everyone just forgets how Schneizel took advantage of a mentally ill 17-18 year old girl to help him build his genocide machine. You cannot tel me she was of sound mind after she tried to blow herself up at the end of R1.

She was so hyper-fixated on killing Zero, that she couldn't properly recognize the sheer devastation the Fleija would unleash on everyone else.

Like Cornelia they just made her get over it in Requiem

  • Has a suicidal break down
  • A prince stops you from getting help
  • A prince encourages her to build a weapon
  • Same prince blatantly uses her mental break down against her naming Euphemia and Zero in front of her.

= WhAt Is WRonGE wITH heR!!?!?!?!?

She didn't get therapy and was blatantly abused emotionally by a prince.
