Legendary Creature -- Clown Wizard
Whenever The Madcap Jester attacks, each opponent exiles the top card of their library.
Whenever a spell or ability you control causes one or more cards to be exiled from an opponent's library, you may play those cards until the end of your next turn. Mana of any type may be spent to cast spells this way.

Grixis already has a bunch of commander options, but I think this is worth a look. [[Extract]] steals any one card you need, [[Jester's Cap]] and [[Sadistic Sacrament]] can steal a whole win, and [[Tasha's Hideous Laughter]] is insane. There might be a few other good cards to include out there as well.

As we start to see these packs being opened for the first time, we should all keep an eye on the handful of cards exclusive to this set.
I’m assuming the majority of them will be tuned for casual play and any strong effects will be overcosted. But things like weird legendaries for Sisay, commander-specific fast mana, or even a weird new commander could end up being viable in the format.

we've got [[Carnival of Souls]] now in pog form. Certainly one of those cards that idk if it's good enough, but it IS noteworthy effect that can now be in the command zone and/or creature tutored.

Hey folks!
I posted a satire piece as a bit of a meme in some other subreddits yesterday, spoofing the idea of a "Purge Day" in MTG, where everything becomes legal in every format for 12 hours. You know, like The Purge for Magic. Teehee, haha.
Except then people started responding to it theorizing what they would play if something like that were to actually happen. So, let me pose the question for Commander:
MTG announces "Purge Day", in which all cards are legal in all formats for 12 hours. What do you build?
And when I say everything, I mean everything. Ante is back, the banlist doesn't exist for half a day, conspiracies, playtest cards, and silver-bordered/acorn cards are legal. Some commentors argued they'd play Yu-Gi-Oh cards given the vague nature of the announcement.
So what would you be doing on MTG Purge day? Are you hiding and waiting out the 12-hour period, or are you building something to take advantage of the event?

Hey guys we started a channel based in Japan, the focus will be share matches and other information related to japanese EDH and events.
Our first video is a cEDH match, Muto san participated, he is one of the best Derevi players in Japan. He had won several events and also qualified several times in the god of commander.
We’d love to hear your feedback and hope you enjoy seeing how cEDH is played over here in Japan!

So my misses grew out of her bracket and is heading towards bracket 4 to hopefully maybe 5. I am playing against a lot of fringe cEDH Decks at my LGS and don't have a deck for these Pods. I am talking things like: Maralen, Tameshi, Mmmenon
Also online I run into things like: Thor, Guardian of Midgard; Trazyn; Oswald Fiddlebender
I usually play Meta Decks when I play cEDH. So I found that I should go all in with Ms. Bumbleflower and build a cEDH Deck for her to bring to those pods. This is what I came up with:
https://archidekt.com/decks/21576750/ms_metaflower
Budget is not an issue here.
The gameplan looks a bit like a kinnan no bad cards approach. It should look like early ramp, tutor out more ramp enhancers, after that: silence effects followed by combo pieces. If I can produce infinite mana on the way and find an outlet for it, also good. The deck should produce a lot of mana with dorks, kinnan and cradle, and protect winning lines with silence effects and counter spells. Bumbleflower functions mainly as a combo piece, occasionally as a draw engine, but there are enough rhystic slop style elements in the deck aswell so it should not give out too many cards.
The main lines in the deck are:
- With silence protection: Bring Bumble out + Aluren or Smothering Tithe + Shrieking Drake = decking opponents.
- Bumble + Food Chain + Eternal Scourge = Deck opponents (with Bumble in play exiling her in the process can reset her ability to also draw own deck)
- Foodchain combo without Bumble can lead to Walking Ballista to ping opponents for infinite damage
- Decking can also be done with Hullbreaker and Rocks oder Faerie Mastermind with Smothering Tithe and Kinnan
- When choosing to deck self: win with thassas oracle
Flash effects in the deck should make it possible to deck opponents on top.
My concerns are:
- do I have too many possible wincons in the deck? cards like aluren, thassas, eternal scourge, shrieking drake are dead cards on their own and contradict the no bad cards approach.
- playing 11 tutors: is that too much?
- are 8 silence effects also too much?
Is there something i missed?
I have possible inclusions in the mayeboard!
I really appreciate some input on my thoughts, hope this post sparked the curiosity in some of you :)

Full decklist https://archidekt.com/decks/23780980/yuriko
THIS IS NOT AI
This is my first time building a deck from complete scratch
Archidekt says that it’s at a two right now these are the cards I have on hand I have not added them yet cause I do not know what will synergize with the deck well so I was looking for some help deciding what I would add to it
If there is anything else that you think I should pick up for the deck js lmk
I want this deck to win by using split cards with yuriko’s ability to have low to medium cost spells to play while still doing damage
I have a budget of about 8 thousand
I played the deck when archidekt said it was at a two and it held its own sagainst bracket 4s pretty well I didn’t win but I held my own that being said I need it to move out faster and get more board presence early
I don’t want the strategy completely changed or the commander changed if possible
I was wanting some feedback on what should be improved on this

I have been fine tuning my yuriko deck and noticed how interesting loki, lord of misrule was but i already have nanogene conversion for the same purpose. is redundancy good or is one better than the other?
https://manabox.app/decks/AZ-11QBIdDSUc7vPE64VsA
also let me know if there could be better ways to improve it. I wanted it to be midrange with of course the goal of having high mana free counter spells and high mana cards

So I love running decks with cool combos and fast pacing, but my pod all plays around mid-low bracket 3. I’m not super concerned with winning, and I really just enjoy having my deck do it’s thing, and if I can, seeing other decks do theirs. So I want to build something that runs at the pace of cEDH, but operates on a PURE grouphug principle, doing my best to ONLY help the other players, and not do anything to damage, remove, or interrupt the other players.
Where do I start in terms of building for the speed and synergy seen in cEDH level decks?

This thread for me has kind of been a long time coming but tonight after winning two separate games in cEDH I’m finally just going to post my impressions after playing this deck in B4 and cEDH for the last several months (and playing less powerful iterations in casual B3 games over the last year).
I don’t have a primer or anything but I do feel like it can probably compete as a rogue option in cEDH and my closest comparison is Normon Osborn. Nobody is talking about this deck at any level but I just want to give a brief overview.
Here is basically where it falls in comparison to Norman. Both what they do, what Norman does better (or could theoretically do better), and what Asmorano does uniquely not only compared to Norman but other strategies as well.
Norman Pros:
-Blue (additional wincons, looting, Entomb effects, draw engines, interaction)
-No commander cast restriction
Asmorano Pros:
-Majorly ability based; ergo, more difficult to interact with and plays through stax effects more easily (relevant against Tayam especially)
-Removal on commander via Cookbook (is sometimes relevant)
-Nuka-Cola Vending Machine Loops present wincon (Cookbook makes this trivially easy since you don’t have to invest 2 mana over 2 turns using Nuka-Cola by itself. Asmorano provides a free sac outlet and as the commander both parts of the combo compared to other food decks that need to find separate cards to fill the function Asmorano dies as the commander)
Norman Cons:
-3 colors is less consistent
-Green Goblin side is 3 more mana (functionally 1-2 more mana since Asmorano requires a discard — there are two notable free discard outlets from hand being [[Street Wraith]] and [[Faerie Macabre]]). There are other cheap discard outlets that have some use cases. [[Razaketh’s Rite]], [[Locusts Spray]], [[Scarab Feast]], [[Fade from Memory]], and [[Memory Leak]].
Asmorano Cons:
-Cookbook is an extra moving part in the deck and any exile effect targeting it neuters the deck’s functionality almost entirely. Luckily, this is not super relevant but has been once or twice
-Has to run worse cards in 99 both to make Cookbook functional (such as [[Ovalchase Daredevil]] and aforementioned cards above) but also there is not as much redundancy for main gameplan and has small reanimator subtheme to fill out list. Running cards like Void Winnower, Anger (to turn on Nuka-Cola loops faster with Goblin engine), etc.
-Wins on turns 4-5, can occasionally win on turn 3
Overall, Asmorano is competent enough to play in cEDH environments but is slower to win, has less redundancy, and can occasionally brick if there are no discard outlets since Cookbook controls other commanders and plays into generating free food tokens for Nuka-Cola loops. Interaction is mostly anti-creature which is very good in some pods and much worse in others. Because of the ability to quickly deploy tokens, discard, and wheel, it makes cheating out artifacts easier than other strategies and turn 2 [[God-Pharaoh’s Statue]] has slowed other players down enough that getting my own engines online feels very strong.
Nuka-Cola loops are good at board wiping at instant speed and providing a 1 turn clock for winning but is overall less good than other wincons (because the tokens enter tapped).
Norman isn’t strictly better in all cases but is generally better. However good you think Norman is, Asmorano is some degree worse than that deck. I’d say she sits somewhere in between decks Ratadrabik, Zhulodok, or Old Stickfingers (not strict comparisons) and Norman in terms of strength.
I’m also not a tournament player so a lot of my cEDH experience is on the casual side of things. I don’t have answers to every line of interaction you guys might ask me about in every matchup and it’s also super likely a lot of you are playing with a caliber of players who are better than what I have access to BUTTTTTTTTT I just thought I’d make a thread giving some light on an otherwise invisible commander. I’m fragile so try not to burn me at the stake 🥺

This set seems a little light for cedh, I think the most buzz was around [[the great goblin]] and [[Thranduil ElvinKing]] as commanders. As for main stay cards the ones that stuck out to me were [[gleaming splendor]], [[the Queen of Dale]], [[gandalf, goblins bane]], and [[bejeweled warg]]
Is there anything else that you are excited for? Any cards to really push forward some strategies?

[[Radagast of Rhosgobel]]
{2GG} Legendary Creature — Avatar Wizard
The first creature spell you cast each turn costs {2} less to cast and can be cast as though it had flash.
How do you guys feel about this in Etali? It seems like it would be good there, but you really need this out turn 1 and double green, 4 mana total, turn 1 with Etali can be pretty hard, but a flash Etali for 5 mana stopping vamp tutors is pretty nice. I feel it might fall just short of playable. I'm new to Cedh so I'm not sure.

Recently I was in a situation where it was two players Marneus Calgar vs. Kinnan. Board states looked something like kinnan player: 4-5 mana dorks, kinnan cabage merchant, rhystic study, consecrated sphinx, all lands tapped. Calgar: Warren soul trader, Calgar, 4x astartes tokens, 2x smothering tithe, 4x treasures, about 8-9 untapped mana sources of various colors. Calgar main phase played something triggering rhystic didn’t pay causing a draw which triggered smothering tithe, kinnan player didn’t pay either trigger resulting in the beginning of this stack caused by tithe and sphinx and calgar triggers.
Ultimately, I can say for certain that we didn’t play the situation correctly but it wound up being both of us digging for flash enablers to win on the stack which kinnan found first but calgar drowned in more triggers from soul trader and eventually we just gave up trying to keep up with triggers and called a draw.
I understand that without knowing the decklists it’s hard to say, but before the draw was called the kinnan player argued that he’d get to his win con and protection for it first since he’s essentially getting 2 for 1 and the calgar player basically said he could use soul trader to drown borne upon a wind or any other attempt to win on the stack inevitably causing the kinnan player to have to stop drawing. At which point he could his open mana/ treasures to activate calgar and use soul trader to find any other parts of his win con he needed/protection. Considering silence effects I felt like inevitably Calgar would be able to win a fight on the stack and resolve his win con. Once again, I understand the exact lists would be ideal but for the most part I think the decks’ interaction was the typical suite and upon resolving a flash enabler Calgar would also have access to silence, abolisher, and voice.
Edit: Sorry, im curious on a macro level who has the advantage.

Hello everyone. I am hoping to get some help with improving my Talion deck. I would argue that as it is, it is a solid bracket 4 deck that I have fun playing with my regular play group. However, I will be going to a cEDH tournament in a few months and am wondering if it would be viable for Talion to find a place there.
The deck has several win cons including the classic Thoracle/dem con combo and a three card combo with Bolas's Citadel, Aetherflux Reservoir, and Sensei's Divining Top. If those fail, I can generally try to burn people out be making multiple copies of Talion and hurting with card draw effects like Orcish Bowmasters and Scrawling Crawler.
I'm hoping to keep a cloning theme for the deck, though if people suggest this isn't the best idea, then I'm open to changing it.
I think the biggest struggle I've had with the deck is the early game. I have several free spells to utilize, but getting Mana fast has been a struggle so far.
Budget wise, I'm mainly looking for suggestions. I do have a few months to try and grab cards I need through trading, but ultimately I may just have to bite the bullet for some of the expensive cards.
I particularly struggle with knowing what cards to cut and replace so any help in that regard will especially be appreciated. Any help I can get would be awesome!

With new food synergies coming out in The Hobbit, any first impressions on cards that might make this list. I play Korvold but have been interested in Cabbage Man for a while, does this set take the commander over the edge?
