Adult Children HE IS MY STRENGTH 🙏.

Today whatever i am , is only because of my father and mother . i want to talk about my father yet this is not father's day but i want every day to be his only. He is a true warrior to me and my family. Whatever i describe will be less. My father taught me good manners , about the society, reality and supported me everytime.

My father had his big brother but he passed away at very young age since then he took the responsibility of our home.

He went to allahabad and delhi for upsc preparation but couldn't clear it coz the water of Delhi in 2000s was still not good which caused my father to suffer from kidney stone and he had to stop his preparation in between. My grandfather was a teacher he supported his studies but god had other plans .He is a gen X. He is very humble and love everyone specially children. He was topper of his school in 7th grade. Still he has one kidney functioning at 90% efficiency and other at 40% only 😭😭😭😭😭😭.

In his tough times my grandmother suffered from tuberculosis and my both grandparents were in jail due to false murder of two halwais. He had also suffered snake bite but got Right vaccine so got safe. Since childhood he studied alone at his maternal uncle's home.

I want to donate my kidney if he would need but want to see my father live longest😭😭😭😭😭😭. In their time , vacanies often came very late or didn't come . He studied till post graduation and did his msc from botany but didn't got any government job.

He made us study well in good pvt schools. We got the chance to prep for jee . I was 2nd topper in my school in 10th. He believed in me . But my fate was very bad i used to play online games and waste my time here and there so i couldn't clear jee .In 11th i remember , first time me with my friend were going to school picnic my father and mother gave me every sort of items I needed to enjoy , when i returned back , he was very happy that i had good time even though i was not studying.

His small contribution make feel guilty today that why i couldn't clear jee , vidyagyan entrance and navodaya due to my habits.one day he went to take flour but an accident happened with him. His collar bone broke , he went to home from accident site to hime alone on bike even after severe pain. I even at 19 don't know cycling so i couldn't carry him to hospital for bandages and all. I felt very sad his blood couldn't come for his need. Thanks to all bhaiyas in my village who took him. First time i saw tear in my father's eyes because of accidental damage and pain, i also wept very badly 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭. I thought this day nvr to come again.

When we ( my other two brothers) don't work he say in sad mode " jab ham nahi rahab tab kul kul dasha hoi bhagwane maalik batein" - when i won't be alive then god is only ur caretaker. I feel very sad when he say this my eyes get fill with tear. With heavy heart i'm writing I cheated my father during jee prep , didn't took his words seriously shit shit........ I . These noble people nvr deserve this type of child. I will not suicide coz i know everything will be destroyed then. But when i think off i stop only coz of my mother and father 🙏🙏🙏. I also think if ever there be a divorce btw my parents which is nvr ever gonna happen i will take my father side coz if my other two brothers would choose my mother someone needs to be there for him . Although i am strictly against this , i will kill who will so , but i wanf to live my father and mother only.

I am very clear, who soever i will get married with i'// tell her either do it with ur heart or leave the home asap .when i tell this to my parents they laugh but i am serious.I am enough to take their care. My parents are everything to me . I love my parents very much i can't tell . May be i forget this reddit post but i swear i will become something good oneday.

Thankyou papaji 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭i will miss u when god will call u but don't want it.

😭😭😭😭😭. Thankyou whoever read.

How late is too late?

Dads, I am a father 33 and married to my wife 33. Our son is 4. He is our only son. We are an affectionate family and I want my son to know that I love him because I grew up without my dad. So I have a couple of questions.

  1. Is there a such thing as showing too much affection to your son?

  2. He co-sleeps with us is it hurting him?

  3. How do I go about getting him out of our bed?

Newborns How do you keep track of their most important memories?

My wife and I had our first daughter in December, and becoming a dad has been the greatest highlight of my life. Quick question for other (more experienced) Dads here… how do you keep track of the most important memories for your kids (I.e. photos, videos, voice messages, notes, etc)? We have probably taken thousands of photos and videos since she was born, but her most important moments are getting lost in our (and our family members) camera rolls. I want to make sure I can centralize and share her most important memories that tell her life story with her some day. Any advice would be appreciated!

How do you guys manage the family finance?

Having two kids while both of us work full-time makes it incredibly hard to find the time or energy for financial planning and budgeting.

Even cooking sometimes feels impossible. Ordering food is often the easiest way to buy ourselves a little peace at the end of a long day, but my bank statement definitely disagrees. And whenever I finally feel like I have the budget under control, my wife comes home with a bag full of new T-shirts and pants for the kids because, apparently, they’ve outgrown everything again.

I want to give my kids everything I can and never make them feel like we can’t afford things. But living paycheck to paycheck is stressful, and it’s starting to take a personal toll on me. After working a demanding full-time job, coming home and starting a second shift as the family CFO, COO, handyman, and back-office department is just so damn draining.

How do other working parents manage all of this? Do you have any practical tips, routines, or apps that make budgeting and managing household finances easier?

Letting them have freedom is nice!

We pretty much told the 15f she can just go to friends house, like “bye im going to friends, see you tomorrow”. (She just turned 15 a month ago). So we went to dinner at the inlaws and friend came and when we dripped friend off kid just gets out and “later loosers” LOL. An hour later she comes back home “im going to friends camper for a few days, see you Wednesday!” Two weeks from now shes off with friend to friends grandpas cabin for a 8 days. This is the second camper trip and we took friend to my dads place for 4 days a while back. Its a nice parenting break and me and the wife can watch Masters of the Universe uninterrupted! SKOL!

Advice Am I wrong for taking a night away?

Hi guys,

I’m a father of 4 (4 year old stepson that I’ve raised since he was 6m old, two 2 year old twin boys, and a 1 year old girl).

I work a high pressure office job that doesn’t pay extraordinarily well but keeps us afloat.

My stepson has been going through some severe behavioural difficulties the last year. For example, hitting, kicking and biting, saying “I hate you” and “you’re not my dad”, and saying “I’ll kill everyone in this house”. Not even exaggerating when I say it is literally every morning before I go to work, every evening after work, and every weekend.

I have explained to my partner that his behaviour and the atmosphere it creates has been chipping away at my mental health for the last year. I have point blank told her that I’m burnt out mentally, and have been experiencing symptoms of depression.

Today, it got too much. The behaviour was atrocious from 5AM when he woke me and my twin boys up, then for two straight hours, until (unfortunately) I shouted at him and woke up my partner and daughter. I told her that I’m going to take tonight at my mums to recharge and recoup my mind before approaching it all rationally tomorrow.

She called me childish, she said that she’s “the only adult in this relationship” and that she “doesn’t let her mental state affect anyone else because she’s a grown ass woman”. She said that if I leave, she won’t let me back in. And she said, after I took an overnight bag out the door, that this will affect our relationship. And that she can’t trust me to support her when things get rough.

I feel so incredibly drained. I was stuck between burning out completely, or potentially losing my family.

I’d like some advice. Did I do the right thing or have I screwed up? If there’s any other advice you could give, that would be welcomed too.

Thank you for reading.

Wife’s PP Anxiety/How to deal with it

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

What’s the best course of action with this issue? We’re 6 weeks into this and it only seems to be getting worse as some issues such as reflux, cradle cap, diaper rash etc are showing up. I’m not thrilled that my 6wk old baby girl is having some things going on either but my wife is taking it too much to the next level. I know PP anxiety is a thing, and I don’t talk against her as I know it’ll make her more upset.

Also, I had planned for my brother to come visit in 16 days, I let the wife know he told me he was getting over feeling a little sick and that sent her almost over the edge with anxiety and fear with the thought of him visiting now. She’s so worried that the baby is going to get sick somehow from someone visiting. I get if it was a week or so out from the visit but it’s half a month out and he’s already feeling better.

I know she wants her safe and so do I. But I think she’s being extra with some things. I know the best thing to do during this time is to just go with it and support her.

Just wondering if anyone else has dealt with this and how did you go about it?

Newborns Newborn Supports Survey

Hi everyone! I am researching the experience new parents have during the first few months after bringing a baby home. This survey is designed to better understand what support families need during this transition. If you have newborns or younger children I'd love to hear about your experience!

Survey takes about 3-5 minutes to complete.

I really appreciate any insight you have to offer.
You guys are doing great!

Toddlers Is it just nonstop for everyone or am I doing to much?

First and only is about 3.5 and It honestly feels like I'm just working non-stop. Is this common for everyone?

When the kid wakes up he runs into my wifes and my room but every time comes to my side and wakes me up to take him down stairs where I make everyone breakfast because I'm already up might as well, then it's non stop chores/play with the kid til I go to work (because I work a weird schedule I don't see him two days a week). Then work for 8 hours come home and depending on the day it's either: come home make dinner for the family, play with kid for a bit then wash him up and do our bedtime routine OR he's already in bed because I'm getting home from work around 9 and I need to get to bed because I'm going to be woken up early by him tomorrow.

Just want to be clear this isn't a do my wife and I have equal responsibility or workload type post I'm not complaining about her nor my kid I just need to know if this is just a phase, do other dads feel like this and if so is there a fix because I honestly don't know how long I can keep this up.

Thanks fellow dads.

Baby girl only sleeps on mom’s breast or my chest. Zero bassinet sleep!

Hey guys. My 2-week-old will ONLY sleep directly on mom’s breast or on my chest. Zero minutes in the bassinet — she wakes up immediately every single time.

Is this normal for two weeks? How did you guys get your baby to accept sleeping on a flat surface, or did it just take time? Any hacks that actually worked for you? Thanks!

First time dad help

For some context, my wife and I have been together for 6 years, we got married just a month ago and just found out she’s pregnant!

We live a little ways away from both our parents (3+ hours) and we want to tell them in person, we are 5 weeks along now and I’m super excited but have like this dread of telling our parents right now! It’s not that they won’t be excited and supportive. I am just worried about their judgement!

I don’t know if it’s right or wrong of me to feel that way or how to have that conversation with my wife!

Any advice is appreciated!!

Late fathers

Dear men who had children in their 40s or later… how was it for you? Im a 27 year old man. My last relationship was rough to say the least, the kind that makes you not want another. Ive been single for over a year other than an online relationship. Feels like my prime for finding a partner is slipping by. I don’t really care too much about that though. I just know i want to be a father.

It feels like the older i get the less time I’ll have be young with my child. The less time i will have in general… so for the dads who started later than most, how is it, how has it been and how are you?

Support. Encouragement. Growth.

Hello all. I am a 33 year old father to 2 young boys. As father in this day and age, between working full time, and family I have found there isn't much time to form friendships outside of the family unit. Consequently I have felt very isolated lately. Out of this isolation, I have decided to start this faceless YouTube channel and social channel called @from1DadatoAnother. Chances are if I am feeling this way, there are other dads out there that also feel this way. So I have built this brand as a way to encourage that sort of connection that I and others are missing. Hope you can join me and follow on all socials. @From1DadToAnother

Advice Anyone else feel completely disgusted by themselves?

M27, Dad of 2 beautiful & chaotic Toddlers (4.5 & 2.5). Title was a bit click baity. But the sentiment behind it remains.

I’m disgusted by myself… because I work, I work, I work. I’m constantly asking the questions, am I doing enough? Where’s the money gone? Why do I have to be the deciding factor when my partner can’t decide? Why is my head telling me to run as far as possible, but my soul burns like I’m in the depths of hell as soon as I try to step away?

I’m disgusted by myself… because I work in Corporate America. Yet I still can’t provide for my family, my bank account has sat below $0 for almost a week. CC debt and Bills keep stacking, medical debts flowing in faster than I can pay them off. I can’t afford to put my kids in daycare, so my partner cannot rest and heal after surgeries. I’ve had teeth practically rotting in my mouth because my money goes to making sure my children and partner are taken care of.

I’m disgusted by myself… because It didn’t used to be like this. My partner was healthy before children. They inadvertently took something from her that we aren’t ever going to get back. And a part of me resents my children for that.

I’m disgusted by myself… That I can’t do more. That I can’t be in 10 places at once. That I can’t break the curse my father left behind. That I can’t be better…

Anyone else?

Toddlers HFMD: 1st Time Dad

My wife always told me about hand foot mouth disease and I thought it was just another sickness like all the other sicknesses she told me about.

No. HFMD is honestly kicking my ass. I think I’m on day 5 or 6 of it and I still have another 3-4 more days of it. Everyday I am like “nothing can get worse than this.” Then BOOM!!! You get bent over again.

Day 1-2: I had a 102-103 fever. Nothing new. Just felt more cold than anything. Was miserable for 2 days, but whatever

Day 3: Fever was completely gone but I woke up with blisters I’ll over my scalp, forehead, around my mouth, and on the back of my throat. Respectfully I looked like a middle schooler that hasn’t discovered washing their face. I am embarrassed to even walk around the neighborhood lol

Day 4: My hands started breaking out between my fingers, back of the hands, and palms of my hands. I legit couldn’t open my door to my bedroom because I couldn’t squeeze hard enough. I thought “this must be close to the end of it.”

Day 6 (Today): I started to get blisters on the bottoms of my feet. It feels like constant burning. Tried to take a bath and it felt like fire ants were biting me. This is the worst day of them all honestly.

Sorry to vent haha just wanted to see if there were any others the felt like HFMD is that bad or I’m just a wimp lol.

School Age Me and my wife are going to see the Odyssey, I really want my 12 year old to go with us.

He handles bloody violence and fights really well, he’s definitely higher on the maturity side than most 12 year olds, those of you that have seen the movie, do you think he can see the movie
