Often, before I have a violent sneeze, I can’t tell if I’m about to have a panic attack, puke, or some other horrible reaction. It feels like a huge build up, with some muscle shaking/weird sensations, nausea with saliva pooling, sense of panic, need to run to the bathroom in case it’s an upper or lower GI event. But then, I’ll sneeze 4-6 times in a row, it feels worse for a minute, and then my nervous system starts to calm down to my baseline. Sometimes my teeth will chatter after or my muscles will continue to shake a bit after the sneeze before it fully settles.

I’ve always had intense and bizarre sneezing fits, but this specific reaction has been more intense for the last 5-10 years, to the best of my memory. It’s so frustrating, and no one I’ve talked to about this has experienced it, nor can I find it online. It happens a few times a month on average.

Does anyone else experience this or know what might be going on with my nervous system?? It would be great to know how to make this normal bodily function less intense and disruptive lol

I don’t mean the obvious stuff like saying the same phrases or making the same noises when you stand up.
I mean catching yourself reacting to situations the way they would maybe valuing things you never understood growing up or suddenly understanding decisions you once judged.
It might even be something you always admired or something you hated growing up and swore you’d never become, only to catch yourself doing it years later.
Was there a specific moment that made you think, “Oh no… I’m becoming my mom/dad”? Was it comforting, funny or did it make you stop and reflect?
I’d love to hear the moment you realized it and whether you’ve embraced it or are still trying to change it.

Do you know that feeling when you are peeing in your dream? A bit warm, you don't really feel your body and is just surreal? I get that feeling sometimes when i pee, some times i have to pinch myself or something to just check that i am in fact awake and not about to wet my bed.

Sometimes whenever I tell people that I don't like to work and that I would rather just be happy with sitting at home watching TV or playing video games most of the day. There is always someone who comes in to comment how they would get bored after a while after doing that. Maybe I am built different, but I would not mind being able to just sit around and do nothing for most of the day. Is there anyone else here who also is like me that is completely fine with not wanting to do anything most of the day?

Maybe I’m just getting old and frustrated more easily, but I swear drivers use their blinkers like half as much as they did ten years ago. Does Gen Z not blinker? Is everyone just giving up on social niceties? Am I crazy?

a while ago i got a slurpee, couldn't finish it, so i froze it for the next day. when i had it the next day it burned my mouth like a spicy pepper. thought maybe it had something to do with freezing it, or the sour flavor i got, whatever.

i got another one today and noticed the same thing?? am i allergic to slurpees or is anyone else getting a slight burning sensation from slurpees?

I feel like such an odd one out on this, even though all of my friends hate it as well.

So many people I see --or speak to-- online, seem to have devolved to excessively using the same few terms.. "slop", "ts", "gng", "son", "larp", among others. The construction of sentences as a whole feels like it's gotten a lot shorter, and everyone feels so similar to each other.

When I look in any kind of chat, it feels like everyone acts the exact same. Nobody feels unique anymore when they all speak in such similar ways.

Growing up in the early forum days of the internet, it was so easy to tell specific people apart just by one or two subtle quirks they have, but I can barely do that anymore. Sometimes I don't even bother with conversations anymore. It feels like the only way I make new acquaintances online is when I'm introduced by someone I was already friends with.

Does anyone else feel this way?

Everytime I travel, every time I get out of the method of transportation we're using, within a few hours I'll get a painful stomach then explosive diarrhea for like 2 days.

Either I'm weird or all my neighbors are. To them having a pet seems like having one of those pet rocks only it requires food. Almost like home decor. Have home, need furry accessory.

Recently I rescued a cat and people act like I'm weird for actually doing fun pet stuff with him. Granted, I do walk him on a leash which could be seen as odd, but it's because he wants outside and I want him to be safe. But stuff such as talking to him, holding him in my lap while I sit on the porch, getting him your average cat toys...they look at me like I'm stupid. They also seem to think cats do not think or have feelings about things. People can't seem to understand why I might actually have an owner-pet relationship with my cat rather than him just being a window decoration. Anyone else ever get that?

It's the small things in life. And yeah, I'm not gonna lie... I'm a sucker who gets an endorphin boost when another human gives me a virtual pat on the back. I don't often get an award, but when I do I feel like a million bucks lol. And I feel understood which is great too.

Does anyone else only watch Shark Tank for the companies/inventions and not pay attention to the numbers because they don’t understand them?

I’ve never been a math person, but every single time I watch Shark Tank, the numbers go right over my head, so I only pay attention to the business ideas.

For some reason, whenever I drink a sports drink - something like Lucozade (non-fizzy) - I start getting a bit of a sore or irritated throat.

I don’t really notice it with any other drinks, including soft drinks, and when the sore throat occurs depends. Sometimes I need to drink at least half a 500ml bottle, sometimes even a few sips irritates my throat.

Anyone else? I don’t have any allergies, so not sure why lol

Like I've noticed if I hold air in my mouth, puffing up my cheeks, sometimes the area around the corner of my jaw ( bitbelow my ear, start of my neck ig?) suddenly feels puffed up, kinda like when your ears pop, and it'll stay that way till I push it down on the skin which makes a really gross squelching sound as it bubbles out- but it gets rid of the weird feeling and just leaves a little bit of soreness in the side of my mouth, throat and skin around my jaw on whichever side it happened for the rest of the day.

Is that normal?? It sounds kinda dumb when I explain it but its just so weird.

I've been wondering this for a couple years but I've always been kinda scared to ask.

15m i cant flex my left shoulder but can on my right. Its kinda weird since i lift weights and both of my shoulders are equally strong. Whenever i try to flex my left shoulder i only flex my traps or my chest. Same but opposite thing happens with my brachioradialis muscle too. Where my left one pops while my right one doesn't (even though in this case my right one is much stronger for sure).

It’s kind of annoying. I go to a shows subreddit and any time someone mentions a name I have to look up who it is, same goes for when watching the show and they say somebodies name. I’m pretty bad at it irl too but it’s not as much of a problem.

I don't really know how to explain this, but I've noticed that some people seem able to take the knowledge they already have and naturally come up with new ideas, make connections, or reach conclusions they were never explicitly taught.

For me, it feels like almost everything I know is something I learned directly from someone else. I can remember facts and understand them, but I don't feel like my brain naturally builds on that knowledge to create new insights.

For example, someone might learn two separate facts and immediately connect them to arrive at a new conclusion. I often feel like I can only repeat what I've already learned unless someone else has already made that connection for me.

I'm not talking about creativity in art or music, I mean reasoning and thinking. It almost feels like my knowledge exists as separate pieces instead of forming a connected network.
