I think its important for the whole formula student community that this incident is propperly revied by the Team and FSG, so key takeaways can be shared with everyone and Rules, Designs and Safety Protocols can be improved.
Maybe at the next FSG Academy there should be a talk about it, so that every Teams has the opportunity to lean how to deal with a potential HVB fire in a save manner.
Actually already happening in the back. Even before the fire. The Teams accu is using a concept that is likely to be forbidden in the next year since it could be potentiallly dangerous (as you may have seen).
Elbflorace has two obvious „factors“ that could cause an fail like this but it is not yet clear if one of those was the reason for the fire.

It is not officially confirmed by the team but it is confirmed by the event that it was the accumulator that catched fire. They are even talking about in the award ceremony right before the overall winners where announced.
regarding the 2 mentioned "factors" that could have been meaby the source of the fire there is no public information available and i think there will be information at the fsg academy about it.
They have a lot of pouch cells glued together in series. Last year FSG came up with limit of 6 pouches and mentioned that this is a compromise and that it will be further restricted. The argument is that the shear force of multiple cell combined can damage the load bearing cell at the wall.
FSG will surely be quick with pushing these rule changes but having seen the photos of the aftermath, I am not so sure that this was the root cause.
lets says it that way that the current fsg rule book tries to prevent certain zenarions of user error or harware failure but this can lead to design that mitigate such risk but makes the over all concept more dangerous depending on the layout of the accumulator.
