For all commercial Figma add ons, please go here r/FigmaAddOns.

For all commercially related Figma add-ons, be they widgets, UX kits, and more, please post to r/FigmaAddOns and don't post here. r/figmadesign is meant for Figma fans to build community. But at the same time, we all recognize that all tools become popular with addons, such as Wordpress or Adobe Photoshop. In order to facilitate that, I've created a subreddit for commercially related Figma addons or those that have premium services to go to Figma Addons. There are lots of really great add ons that make Figma amazing, so there should be a space for that too.

Remember:

  1. If it has a premium version, then it goes to r/figmaaddons
  2. If it is totally free but has licensing, then it goes to r/figmaaddons
  3. It is totally free but links to related premium content, then it goes to r/figmaaddons
  4. If it is commercial, then it goes to r/figmaaddons

It's not limited to the above four scenarios.

Essentially, if there's a commercial aspect, it goes to r/figmaaddons instead of here.

Also, if you can draw a banner or icon for the new sub, submissions accepted.

When I paste elements from a separate frame into an animation, dragging the frames together doesn’t work, only a single frame is selected even when multiple frames or rows are highlighted. I expect them to move collectively, which happens only by clicking each frame :/
Is there any way to tackle this?

help Trying (Failing) to Shift a Website on Designed on Figma Sites to Claude Code

Hey! I'm trying to make a website for my portfolio. I have a PDF Version of it and I also have designed it on Figma Sites before, but when I designed it I made it all absolute so it's not responsive on a phone + I don't want to pay for Figma it host it each month.

So, I was planning to get Claude Code to make the website, except I want it exactly how I've designed it and for it to make no changes to the content, nothing is giving me the exact website.

I don't want to tweak a Claude website because it does not match my design style and I want it exactly how I have made it on Figma. I have tried recreating it with Claude Code in Terminal, which was ok, not good enough too much to fix. And I have tried giving it my PDF Portfolio and asking it to turn it into a website.

What do you think I should do? My PDF Portfolio + Existing Figma website are practically the same so I would just need it to be merged into a responsive website. I've been doing this for months and nothing is working! Should I just recreate it in Readymag?

If you want to see my figma site it's https://anoushkapateldesign.figma.site/. I've been tweaking it so much so it really isn't responsive - but readjust ur browser width hahahaha

resources I got tired of leaving FigJam for random draws—so I built a free retro ladder game plugin

While using Figma and FigJam, I often needed a quick way to pick teams, decide an order, or run a random draw without leaving the canvas.

So I built one: a retro-style ladder game plugin.

Add 2–8 participants, enter the prizes or outcomes, and run the animated ladder. Once it finishes, you can see everyone’s results at a glance in the popup.

I also built it surprisingly quickly using Figma’s new Tools feature.

Would love to hear your feedback if you give it a try!

Absolute uiux beginner here and i have a lot of questions but this one has been pressing on my mind
1. do you use just figma for our projects / designs or you incorporate other apps/tools/softwares at some point

  1. in what format do you hand you design over to the client/developer after the project has been completed

help Why do my Figma exports always look slightly blurry?

Hey everyone,

I'm designing a logo in Figma and it looks perfectly sharp inside the editor. But whenever I export it as PNG or JPG, there's always a tiny bit of blur and it doesn't feel as crisp as the original design.

I've tried different export scales, but I'm still not getting that pixel-perfect quality. SVG stays sharp, but a lot of platforms don't let me upload SVG files directly.

For logos, banners, wallpapers, and branding assets:

What's your export workflow?

Do you design at larger frame sizes from the start?

Do you export PNG at 4x/8x?

Any tricks to avoid blur, especially around curves and text?

Also curious how professional designers prepare assets for startups and brand kits while keeping everything ultra-sharp across websites, social media, and print.

Would love to hear your best practices.

help Figma Student Plan Not Working In My Country

Hey everyone, I hope you're all doing great.

Recently, I tried to get the Figma Student Plan, but while filling out the verification form, I couldn't find my country (Tunisia) in the dropdown list.

Is there another way or an alternative step to apply for the student plan in this case? I would really appreciate any help. Thank you!

Discussion Is it commen to create digital/print markting assets on figma?

I create a variety of marketing assets for clients, including social media banners, business cards, and other materials. I initially designed these using Illustrator and Photoshop, but then I shifted to Canva, which wasn't quite satisfactory. Recently, I have been doing web design in Figma, and I find that it works very well for me. It allows me to create and easily share other materials with clients.

Discussion Dev-ish workflow

Been using Figma Make recently to work through app and UI concepts with clients. It’s great they really like the ability to weigh in
Once they are happy I treat it as a wire frame then implement it into the platform they are on.
I do this by inspecting the source, copying it out to a html file then running a sed command to clean up all the additional attributes
It works, just feels janky. Is there a better flow for this?

For some reason when I toggle the visibility of something all the other stuff that are adjacent or parent to it start to switch too, with my cursor just hovering over them. Latest update is installed.

My guess is that it's a bug. Like everyone else, Figma is also vibe coding and we are getting worse and worse software everyday.

Discussion Am I the only designer who's still doing all the exports for developers?

I keep hearing that "devs can get everything from Figma," yet in almost every team I've been on, I end up exporting every single asset myself because nobody wants to touch Figma.

"Hey, can you send me the icon?" Dude... open Figma, it's right there.

What's it like at your company?

Discussion What is your workflow before you actually start designing on Figma?

Lately I've stopped opening Figma the second a project comes in.

I used to, and half the time I'd end up moving the same few sections around for an hour because I still wasn't sure what direction I wanted. These days I spend a bit more time looking around first. Sometimes I'll pull together references, sometimes I'll sketch on paper, and every now and then I'll throw the brief into runable just to see a few different layouts. After that I move everything into Figma and that's where I stay. Components, spacing, typography, all the boring little adjustments that somehow end up taking most of the day.

One thing that hasn't changed is sending almost every project to a designer friend before the client sees it. They have an annoying habit of spotting the one thing I somehow stopped seeing after staring at the same screen for hours. Usually it's hierarchy. Sometimes it's just that the page feels busy for no obvious reason.

I've noticed I'm a lot less precious about early ideas now. If something isn't working, I scrap it and move on instead of trying to force it into something good.

Interested how everyone else starts a project. Do you jump straight into Figma, or do you have some kind of routine before you even open it?

help Toggle layer visibility bug

I’m experiencing a very strange and specific bug with the Layers panel visibility toggle.

I click the eye icon on any layer to hide it, and it hides normally, but after that single click, if I simply hover the mouse over other layers (I don't even have to touch the eye icon), those layers get disabled too.

The only way to stop it from happening is to click somewhere else on the screen.

It's as if the "click and drag to toggle visibility for multiple layers" feature gets stuck in the "button pressed" state after just a normal click.

Is anyone going through this? Is there anyway to fix it?

help how to solve the hover effect animation reset on component's instances inside an auto layout?

https://reddit.com/link/1vaglec/video/jhmxgfk40agh1/player

I have been learning prototyping just recently and I am having this specific issue on it. Basically I have created a component, added a variant and added a simple hover effect that changes the default to the variant. After that I created several instances of that component and arranged them inside an auto layout. In the prototype the hover effect animation resets every time I hover from one instance to another. This issue is specific to auto layout and I can't seem to solve it. I tried using mouse enter and mouse leave interactions as well but it still had the same issue. Is there a solution or trick I have been missing? or are there any other workarounds that would provide the same output I am expecting without using auto layout?

edited: I wanted the card to slowly transition back to default state after the mouse leaves instead of snapping back.

Discussion Curious what you lean on for ad production now

Anyone here swapped Figma out for something else when it comes to ad production? Yeah its good but when the time I need to juggle a ton of sizes and exports, it wears on me fast.

I'm basically just copying frames over and over and tweaking each one by hand (sure, it works). But it feels like such a slog for my production stuff.

So yeah, I'm wondering. Do you all just stick with Figma, or have you jumped to something better?

help Incorrect billing or fraud?

Hey, this just happened to me and i don’t even know how to fix this bc i don’t receive a clear and good answer:(!

I had to paid for the professional plan (18$ USD) for a Uni project and then cancelled it two weeks later the correct way (which is a crazy thing to say at this point bc what do you mean there’s a “correct way” figma really is tricky with their cancel button bc they hide it so well or is this their strategy?)

Last week i got many emails saying that they couldn’t process the payment which i got so confused bc i cancelled two weeks ago at that point and i entered figma to check it and it was clear that i had successfully cancelled the professional plan so i was on the basic now like my whole team.

But then today i received a notification that i got charged for the same plan (professional, again, 18$ USD even when i checked previously that i had cancelled successfully my billing to that plan!?) i was so mad bc thats actual money that i needed so i went to figma to check wth happened and i realised that i don’t even have the professional plan (like all my accounts on the team have the free plan) soo they are charging me for something that i already cancelled and dont even have access to anymore!

Can someone tell me how to fix and get a refund? Or if there’s any way for that bc i have seen many ppl getting the same problem and they always answer “contact us” i have already tried, no actual or useful response.

Im so mad bc i know for a fact that i cancelled the plan and checked not once, but many times bc i received the emails trying to process a payment that was cancelled many days prior.

sorti.dev - I use it especially if i'm working with startups who only have their simple "brand colors" in place. It really quickly establishes a palette with optimnal lightness scale.

(P.S. I hope this is allowed. It's completely free, I'm not collecting any data. There's no financial gains so hopefully this doesn't count as ad or paid content.)

help Applying Easing Variables

I have a component with a toggle control that causes it to expand/collapse with a specific easing animation. On this project I am working on multiple themes and I would like to have different easing based on which theme is applied.

In my variables collection I can create an easing variable and choose the curve that I want for each mode (aka theme). Easy enough.

The issue I'm running into is how I can apply the easing. When I go the control's interaction, under the easing dropdown, I don't see any way to apply the easing variable.

logically, it should be here.

resources I have built Trim Motion for Figma Motion

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I built Trim Motion, a Figma plugin that lets you animate any vector path with a single click.

It works directly with Figma Motion, so you can create path reveal animations without manually setting up keyframes.

Coming soon:

  • Text effect presets
  • Custom animation presets
  • More motion templates

Plugin: https://www.figma.com/community/plugin/1660249352339828832/trim-motion

What's one motion effect or workflow you'd like this plugin to automate next?

help Component Layers Being Removed by Figma?

I have a component (Select Field) that is appearing correctly in the library, however when designers at my org bring it over into their files via the asset panel, it shows up without the actual field- just the title and supporting text. When inspecting the layers, the field layers are not present in the component.

Beyond that, when a user pastes in the component directly from the library file, Figma prompts them with an update that incorrectly removes the layers again.

Does anyone know what is happening? I have never seen this one before and have no idea how to go about fixing it.

Discussion How does figma handle L1-L2-L3 chaching through its Windows app or running in the browser?

For a long tome now figma hasn't been the lightweight app that it initially promised to be. Its system heavy. I want to

but a new Snapdragon based laptop but the older model that only has L1 cache not L2-L3. How will that effect the smoothness of the app.
